Reports of spectacularly dense chat at Caerdydd.

Perhaps you shouldn't take things so personally.

I watched it in the pub, didn't hear it but someone texted us from the ground about what was being sung.

None of us were bothered.

You're very courageous. Like a soldier in a war, or something.

I bet some of your number were just putting a brave face on it though. It's a different story in those dark, quiet moments away from the bawdy bonhomie of the drinking circle.

That's usually when I go to pieces, anyway

'If you're watching on the telly, you're a cunt.'

That's what some of our fans were singing about their fellow fans according to people who were there. Really lads? Really?

Some of us don't have the money or time to go to Cardiff, it isn't easy for everybody you know. Some of us have to work weekends, much like myself. Even when I start my new teaching job next week and stop working weekends, it'll be my GTP year and I make no apologies for prioritising my career over matches. Even if I didn't have a lot of work to do at weekends, I don't live in Leicester any more so travelling is pretty bloody pricey and I'm saving up for a new house. This again is my priority over going to places like the Madejski. These are the realities of life for many, many fans. This does not make us lesser fans, disloyal or 'cunts.' It means we have other commitments going on that must take priority over the game, in some people's cases the choice is between paying the rent/feeding their children or spending £100 or more on a day out. Which would you choose?

The fact we can't make the games does not mean we aren't following our team because we are. This might be on Radio Leicester listening to Strings, following the thread on Foxes Talk, listening to Five Live because we find the over-reactions to everything on the first two a little grating or, gulp, watch it on the telly or on an internet stream like I did (I refuse to line Rupert Murdoch's pockets on principle).

Kindly think before repeating the chant at our next 'live-on-TV' match at Birmingham. Thanks.

I was there Bilo and didnt hear that chant?! although the loyal supporters chant came out a few times!! there was a group of about 30+ fans singing it out of the 500+ so dont judge all the fans that were there. I know how expensive football is as i'm a season ticket holder with my 2 sons, so i never judge anyone's circumstances. I get more annoyed by constant moaning that we are walking the league or playing like Barcelona!!! when we have a complete new team and are getting better with every game.

I do wonder some times?! Leicester fans always backed there teams regardless how badly we played but now seem to Boo or slate the team if we have a bad game! times have changed i suppose.....

That song is a disgrace, but :appl: for this thread

A typically eloquent post from you Bilo but I'm surprised you actually care enough to write it. If there's a group of people I'm less bothered about being called a cunt by than a small minority of moronic Leicester fans then I'm yet to meet them. I imagine they may just have been jealous of all the people that hadn't spent hundreds of pounds and hours of travelling to watch a shit football match. In Wales as well.

I'm less bothered for myself James, after all I totally agree that the opinions of people like this mean the square root of jack shit to me. I have my reasons for not being able to attend matches, chiefly that my career at the moment is simply far more important.

I'm more bothered for friends of mine who regularly attend matches but fall into one of the categories I've already mentioned. Several were disgusted when they heard what was being sung and considering the people I'm talking about have been to the CCS every time we've visited the place but yesterday I can understand why.

You're absolutely spot-on.

Surely the people responsible for these chants aren't trying to imply that those of us who can't make every match are glory supporters?! If only!

What happened to our world renowned sense of humour ? I bet some of the people on here are the sort who watch films just to spot the continuity mistakes . Were you not young and foolish once ? The majority of away fans are our young guns and have not turned into grumpy old buggers who sit tut tutting and going on about the good old days . I can just see it now ,Sunday afternoon and the old fosil sits watching the match having had to get permission from the wife to do so . When all of a sudden he jumps up in mock dismay " Darling --Darling did you hear that ? those ruffian Floss boys or what ever they are called have just called me a cvnt on live television ! Just wait till I get on that foxestalk they are going to get the rough end of my tongue and no mistake cvnt indeed. ! Good luck to them say I may no miserable old fart on here stop them . :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

You are right to look after your future career mate, I couldn't afford to attend much at your age either but, long term, your hard work will pay you back and hopefully you will be in a similar fortunate position as myself and be able to attend as many games as you want.

As regards anyone who believes attendance at games makes them a better fan, that's rubbish. Several of my mates who I consider just as dedicated in their support as me can't attend many games but their passion equals mine any day of the week.

I don't consider myself a better fan than others, priveledged that I can attend all the games yes, but better - no.

+1'd. I live in Lancaster because of study and now due to my partner's work, so it isn't exactly practical for me to get to home games (even if I had enough cash to splash on the 6 hours' train travel I'd need to attend each fixture) - but I try to get to away matches when I can (been to Burnley and Preston recently). Like you, I am sick, tired and appalled at our so-called 'hardcore' who think that because they go to places like Cardiff and call their fans sheeps****ers they are somehow superior.

Thank you for pointing this out, Bilo

(It won't matter next year anyway. Nobody will be calling me a plastic when, living in the North West, I'm easily going to be able to get to Anfield, Goodison, Old Trashyard, the Reebok, the DW, heck, even St James', and will have a job to fund those expensive trips :scarf:)

I don't think I have ever been to an away game apart from Wembley. Never been able to afford it. I have to pick and choose matches.

I probably got to half a dozen or so home matches last year and then I was saving what I had left for end of season show downs.

In the end I went to the Tigers home semi final and then on to Twickenham to see them lose.

I guess if I also support Tigers I can't possibly be a loyal Leicester fan...

Is your name "Hooray" Henry by any chance?

Lets see what this guy thinks about it (must be read it in a electronic voice)...

stephen_hawking.jpg

1. Spend £50,60,70 to go to the game, travel 5/6 hours or so, pay £3 a pint and £2.50 for a pie which looks and tastes like its been made by winalot...

2. Sit at home and watch it on tv with a beer, Sunday roast on your lap and £50/60/70 in your back pocket...

Now who`s the "CVNT" ?

I`m the smartest human on earth and I was singing at the tv "if you`ve gone to the game you`re a cvnt"

HAHAHA nice one

I'm gonna start up "if you're listening on the radio you're a cunt" on Wednesday. :D

I was embarrassed to have to hear this chant though, some people aren't as lucky as others.

I am that you don't know the difference between "you" and "you're"

:fox:

Sorry furious one, i didn't know you were a member of the grammer police.....I only went to state school, hence never got a job enough to afford going to away matches!!

Maybe they're angry for people still paying money into the Murdoch empire by having a Sky TV subscription, incensed as they are by the phone hacking scandal.

I can pretend I cancelled my Sky subscription as a matter of principle and be all worthy but the reality is I'm too poor to be able to afford it
