whoareyaaa Posted 3 October 2011 Posted 3 October 2011 I think Sven has done some great work since he came here last year and doesnt really get the credit he deserves.. although he hasnt actually achieved anything as of yet he has built an excellent team and also couped some major bargins while at it. Sol Bamba 250k - Going to be worth over 5M by the end of the year Nugent - Free transfer could be the pivital to promotion this season with the amount of work rate and goals he brings to the team. Kasper - 1Mil surely if he carries on the way hes performing your looking at around 8-10M if a top club is snooping. Konchesky - Good solid signing and starting to prove his worth. a snip of the price liverpool paid. Danns - Always stand out player at Palace and to get him on a Free is just a bonus. Peilter - not sure how much the fee was but looks a solid buy and reminds me of naugton last season, loves to get forward. Now the two big summer singings which has brought us the name of the championships 'man city' Mills - 5M looked like we had been robbed the first few games now proving to be a real character, kind of reminds me of Stevey Walsh - if he keeps up this form with Bamba 5Mil will be chicken feed next season as he would walk in a lot of prem teams. Beckford - 4M - Not scored yet but will take a few weeks to bed in with the new team, will score us goals and will be ready for the prem next season. I just really hate it when pundits call us out for spending loads of money when they dont look at the flip side of what Sven has actually managed. the 4 bargins listed above will eventually be worth millions so I think Sven has done a good job and Beckford and Mills would be capble of Prem football so to be honest its good invesment. Another major plus we have are big characters within the Squad this is always paramount within a winning team and will help us when we do stuggle for 10-20mins in a match. Anyway anyone doubting Sven and his backroom team can go kiss my ASS! while I watch city shit all over the league.

Why do LCFC fans have such polarising views. "One minute sack Sven, next minute laud him." "Mills isn't worth £5, now he's worth £5miillion" "Bamba is shocking and a liability, now best defender in the league." "Beckford will tear this league up, after 3/4 games - hes rubbish." Realistically we should look at it after 10 or 12 games. I've no doubt Sven is the right man and that he is doing a good job. But, we should keep our feet well grounded. Patience is a virtue. We'll be fine this season.

I think by Christmas we will know where we stand regarding getting promotion as it is very early days but the team is looking stronger every week which can only be a good thing. If we dont lapse concentration against the lower oppistion then I think we will stand a good chance of getting into the Prem something which has been our downfall over the past two seasons. We have dropped two big points against forest due to a twat of a ref! and could of took points off bristol and even cardiff with that last gasp attack I just hope we don't continue to drop these sort of points as again it will hit us hard come th end of the season.

Wait until Xmas to judge, we must be coming across as the most arrogant bastards in the league saying things like "we are shitting on the league" whilst we sit outside the play ofs.

It was a good post I think Sven has made some excellent signings this summer as well, I still think we are short out wide but we might get away with that if this diamond formation continues to work. I just dont like all the "we are going to romp this league" stuff I have seen over the last few days, its putting a hell of a lot of pressure on everyone.

"Matt Mills is a fvcking disgrace, £5mil and he's worse than the other heap of shite we got at the same price", after 3 poor games early in his career, yet he has a few solid games "£5mil, got what we paid for, he'd walk into a lot of Premier League teams". The bloke has played NINE league games for us. There's no way we can yet judge how good a deal it was. I can see both sides of it but he'll have to keep this form up all season to be worth £5mil, for a Championship defender. Kasper to go for £8-10mil Again, he's been excellent but that's daft money to quote someone who's played so little for us - and whilst it's easy to laugh at Leeds, there's surely a reason he only came to us for £1mil. I've been extremely impressed with him but Leeds wouldn't be stupid enough to let him go for that little if there wasn't a catch. Bamba to be worth £5mil. Again, far too optimistic. Another one who's played very well but a lot of our fans were liking the prospect of him going to Blackburn for under half of that, when? Under three months ago. I do agree the pundits'/other clubs fans obsession with us is extremely pathetic, but I think you're being a tad optimistic and basing a lot of these valuations on far, far too recent form.

I have never said a bad word about a player EVER and either remained positive or kept my mouth shut throughout bad spells. I know for a fact that some of the players read this board and just imagine what some of them must think, it adds totally unnecessary pressure to their game either as individuals or as a team.! One bad game and player X is a disgrace??...some fans need to get a grip and give SUPPORT. we are Leicester, its a very bumpy road, but surely thats where the fun lies! now, wheres my coffee?

Corky Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 People can say "we're buying the league" but we've made some very good signings on frees and for relatively low or competitive prices. It's only the Mills deal that others look at.
