rico Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 No more hotpots, think she was a Leicester lass as well RIP
DB11 Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 I haven't watched the show for agessss, but had she retired already or will she need to be written out of the scripts? RIP
Rincewind Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 She won't be able to make rehearsalls so I suppose she will have to be written out. I'm sure the scriptwrites will dream up a gas explosion or something. Never watch Corro so the name means nothing to me.
Jimothy Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 I haven't watched the show for agessss, but had she retired already or will she need to be written out of the scripts? RIP I hadn't seen it in years either, so I checked when she was last in it. Apparently May this year was her last appearance.
pSinatra Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 I had heard she was from Wigston & when talking to a couple of Wiggy lads.......they said she lived in the Central Avenue area, before leaving for Manchester when she was still a nipper. There was a lot more to Betty than her 'hotpot'. A staggering career as a singer before entering The Street. RIP
BoneDog Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 RIP Betty, a favourite character of mine. I liked her cheeky smile and the way she scolded troublemakers.
Webbo Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 One day she's making hotpot, Next day she's had her chips. RIP

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 October 2011 Posted 15 October 2011 R.I.P. Betty. ' Watched the St. in the sixties and seventies, and have every episode from 1972-1978, plus over 100, '60s episodes. She was a lovely person, both on and off, screen.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Didn't she bat for the other side ? have F****t got a cricket team then?
BoneDog Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 My Mrs is watching The Betty Driver Story. I never knew she was so famous as far back as the forties. Marvellous singer and she went to many a place abroad to sing for the troops. She certainly had a busy life.
