Fox1651 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Play some players with pace, buy some wingers, be more attack minded before we've gone behind, sort the formation out, stop playing 4 central midfielders, stop spending millions on average players. Time to go. SVEN OUT!!!!!
accessory Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Along with every other home defeat you've ever witnessed? Losing 3-0 at home, to a team in the bottom four of a shamefully-weak division, who haven't been able to buy a goal for most of the season? Even by the standard of the 04-08 era. that performance was abysmal.
dannythefox Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 We need to start playing 4-4-2 and we need to start playing the same starting eleven every week unless people are banned or injured .The players DONT want to be having 4-5 changes every week the problem sven has is he doesnt no what his best eleven is and it messing everything up!
Bugg Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Love how in England the only formation that fans understand is 4-4-2 with the big lump up front and the little man next to him.
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 What can he do? Start by buying players for positions (failed) Actually work out your best Eleven ( doesn't seem close) Really worrying thing is if we go a goal down we have pretty much lost.

WE PLAYED AN UNCHANGED TEAM YESTERDAY. Are you trying to say that we need to keep playing players even when they've been garbage for ages?
Bugg Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Really worrying thing is if we go a goal down we have pretty much lost. I'm going to have to agree to this, it seems as if our players (and management you could say) aren't mentally strong enough to cope with going a goal behind and the game seems almost lost when that happens. Although I think we did try to change it at half time by playing with more width and looked a lot stronger in the second half but in the end it all came down to nothing as we were woeful in the final third.
dannythefox Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 WE PLAYED AN UNCHANGED TEAM YESTERDAY. Are you trying to say that we need to keep playing players even when they've been garbage for ages? First time for everything! I dont think that team is the best starting eleven is what i'm saying
Bugg Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 First time for everything! I dont think that team is the best starting eleven is what i'm saying First time for everything? Have you actually been following the games? When we had our run of clean sheets we were playing the same team for a few weeks and no one seemed to say that Sven didn't know his best XI, in fact, it was the opposite. After the defeat against Birmingham it was changed because players didn't deserve to be played again for the next game and suddenly he doesn't know his best XI again.

Been to every game apart from bury and derby, danns and dyer should always be in the starting eleven.
Bugg Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Dyer should always be in the starting eleven? I'm not even going to bother...
MC Prussian Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Isn't this down to what Gallagher was saying during the commentary? That the team thinks of itself as automatic promotion candidates? This attitude stinks. They need to get real. These players need a good kick up their ***** and/or a first-team coach who's able to give them a real rollicking when they're fairing so poorly just like yesterday. Sven, as much as I like him as a person, doesn't fit that type. For that he's too mild-mannered.
dannythefox Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Dyer should always be in the starting eleven? I'm not even going to bother... Good because what most people say on here you just dont agree with so i'm not wasting my time!
Schlupp Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I also find he does werid team talks,Normally we'll take our foot off the gas at half time.
SMX11 Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I just don't think our players are good enough to consistently perform in the way Sven wants us to play. I think he got his selection wrong yesterday, most of the midfield looked well off the pace on Wednesday and I would have rested Abe and probably King and/or Wellens and brought in Danns and Fernandes.
Horibbly Wrong Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I think the players are good enough in their own right but again we find ourselves missing that nasty midfielder and wide player(s) that would have probably made a difference against Millll Abe, a reasonable ball winner but not really aggressive in any way, cant beat a man with either pace or trickery Fernandez, can run all day and will put his foot in but very lightweight for this division, often no end product Johnson, never going to be played as a ball winner, and will never play well out wide Wellens, although he's aggressive he just doesnt do the enough for a club with our ambitions. Danns, from what Ive seen of him so far, the phrase headless chicken springs to mind We have an embarrassment of riches at the minute but not in the right areas. We have the money to turn it round in the transfer window.. Will Sven be here to turn it around? I hope so...Will he accept his tactics have been wrong for this division? I'm not so sure
The Doctor Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Those who are calling for Sven's head - were you calling for MON's head after the Sheff Utd game? After all that was worse form than we've been on at the start of this season.
somebum Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Those who are calling for Sven's head - were you calling for MON's head after the Sheff Utd game? After all that was worse form than we've been on at the start of this season. But how long has Sven had compared to how many games O'Neill had at that point? The comparison is ridiculous and just further extension of the crazy lengths the pro-Sven brigade will go to defend Nice Guy sven
liamsm Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Ferguson didnt win anything in his 1st 3 years at man u, for fvcks change the record grow up and give the man a chance

We were poor yesterday but we're in decent form - 4-4-2 from the last 10, extrapolated through-out a season would give 76 points, The last 6 times we got over 70 points in a division 2 season we made the top 6. We're in good form yet after 1 set-back everyone wants rid, I bet you didn't when we won 5 out of 6 at the start of the year. Compare our last 10 to the 10 before & including Sheff Utd - 3-3-4, 55 points over the course of the season - we got relegated in 08 with 52.
Karljohn Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Svennis problem is his own making, however many millions spent will never replace old fashioned footballing know how on a plan to get out of this ugly league, Konchesky from Liverpool, Beckford from Everton, Johnson from Man City, big names from big clubs, and where we forgave Jackie Hobbs, Michael Morrison and Waggy because they were young and learning their trade for their mistakes, these guys now have no margin for error. They all have a point to prove, SSL - relegated with PNE, Mills - record signing, Konchesky - awful season at Liverpool, Johnson - injury riddled etc but Svennis has no idea on his best X1 and how to fit it all together, just about every player has been dropped twice already! The guy on RL (Ben) was right, 6 CM and no width, but there is no contingency plan in place either, no prep for the game, he should be picking a team to tear Millwall to bits at home, to me, he's not putting in the homework, can't remember the last time we got rolled over 3-0 at home by a side in the bottom 3.

Wow, I am so impressed with your positive spin, actually made me chuckle...... You should have a word with David Cameron, with that level of spin I'm sure you can make the recession look like a really good thing......
The Doctor Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Wow, I am so impressed with your positive spin, actually made me chuckle...... You should have a word with David Cameron, with that level of spin I'm sure you can make the recession look like a really good thing...... We've been mixing the utter crap (yesterday, birmingham) with some very good performances (, Brighton, Derby). I've not seen enough to suggest we can win promotion but, with how tight this league is and that we are picking up points without playing all that well, I se no reason to suggest we couldn't make a decent fist of a play-off challenge. There are major problems within the club - a tendency to choke when presented with a chance to hop into the promotion places, a lack of clincality upfront and a seeming lack of a plan B and yet despite all this, we are still within touching distance of 2nd, a quiet word in the ear of Beckford - and for that matter most of the squad and we should be fine.
AyewJoking Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 I think Sven and the players just need more time. We've spent money, we expect success and rightfully so but we are going no where fast at present. I dont know how patient the owners are and I dont know if Sven would want to stay after his initial contract comes to an end but we need one year maybe two with the same manager and the same bulk of players. Unfortunately I cant see that happening but its the best way to do things if we want to get promoted and stand a good chance of staying in the Premier League. (IMO!!)
Kitchandro Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 What can he do? Start by buying players for positions (failed) Actually work out your best Eleven ( doesn't seem close) Really worrying thing is if we go a goal down we have pretty much lost. This is very true. It's partly because we've got a lack of team spirit, but also because when you set up negatively and/or with a poor tempo, you can't find any momentum.
