Kitchandro Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Really, because the only poster I've seen have a go at Top is DT - and history has told us he's a pretty massive **** and just posts for a reaction. I've got a certain deal of respect for the chaps in charge, they've done more right than wrong but, just as the Sven-haters were fine to critise him, so should those not happy with this be allowed to critise Top and co. Yes they should be allowed to criticise them. But booing is over the top, especially if you have a go at people for booing Sven. I'm not just talking about this thread either.
bmt Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sad that Sven's left, on our day with him at the helm we were unplayable. Still 100% behind the owners, Sven knew what they wanted and was fully backed so they're justified in sacking him.
Donut Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 How that equates to 'half of us' having a fvcked mindset is beyond me. We have a Sven appreciation thread, we have people crying over Sven's departure, we have people saying the Thai's have ''lost credibility'' Lets get a sense of perspective. Were in the bottom half of the championship, playing poorly, and not looking AT ALL like threatening the playoffs, let alone automatic promotion. So would you see this outpouring of emotion for any other manager? for a NORMAL manager? The Thais want to get promoted. Theyll stop at nothing to get promoted. THEYRE AMBITIOUS, unlike the man theyve just relieved ofhis duties. It drives me nuts this small time mentality of our fans, who'd rather gloat about having an Ex England manager in charge than actually get some fvcking results in the league
Jace Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 If I had invested over 50 million in the club this season and was booed by 15 fans out side the KP I'd be very pissed and think, well why bother wasting my money on these people. But that's just me I'm sure Top and Co are far more understanding
pablos111 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Right. So just because King Power have ladened us with debt, we should go along with everything they say in case they pull out because we've upset them? Is this what the world has come to? Here, here. Without us the fans these rich gits would be worth nothing no bums on seats then their wealth diminishes quickly with the cost of a football club, make no mistake! Most of all though I have spent lots of money over the years on my season tickets with this club has have many thousands of others only to have wealthy people come along with their millions and sack managers because they yes they are not heading for rich pickings quickly enough. Make no mistake that these Thai owners have no interests in me, you or any other fan out there but only for their own wealth and Sven has been sacked because we are not looking secure enough (in their opinion) in the promotion spots, meaning millions of pounds in their bank. Unfortunately we are also about to see the departure of some of the very players Sven brought to us because without him they will not want to stay here. Good luck to Sven wherever he goes. I am fed up of watching LCFC over the years start to settle down and only to be put into turmoil by impatient owners, vote with your feet on the next home fixture STAY AWAY AND LET THE THAI;s WATCH THE MATCH ON THEIR OWN. Then and only then they might get the message. We the fans together are much bigger than them and we should do all we can to this message to them I feel so strongly over this that sadly I may even cancel my direct debit on my season ticket.

THEYRE AMBITIOUS, unlike the man theyve just relieved ofhis duties. It drives me nuts this small time mentality of our fans, who'd rather gloat about having an Ex England manager in charge than actually get some fvcking results in the league Well the problem with so many people on here is that they don't seem to have an idea of balance. Far too many people post on here as if they've flicked an on or off switch, and can formulate no other opinion than "***** is amazing" or "****** is shit". Unfortunately these types tend to shout the loudest and as such we probably get a warped view on what the majority of fans actually believe. In light of this, I reckon most of these threads have been started as a somewhat extreme rebuttal to the equally over the top criticisms of Sven and the team in recent weeks. When you've got one side shouting loudly, the other side feels the need to shout back even louder so that they get heard. Which then leads to major disagreements... The problem we were laid with this season was the huge expectation for the team to do well. You could argue that it was unfounded, given that Sven essentially had to build a new team, virtually from scratch, yet you could also argue that we were right to be favourites for promotion given the money we've spent during the summer. Either point is valid, and you don't have to believe either one exclusively either. My personal view of this all is that we haven't performed nearly as well as we should have, and yes, I agree that losing 3-0 at home to Millwall is an awful result. But I don't agree with the timing of Sven's departure, due to the fact that, while we're sat in 13th place currently, a victory at the weekend and things would all of a sudden look a lot more rosy. We have the opportunity to leapfrog West Ham and possibly end up in the play-off places come Saturday evening. Hell, even if they postponed their decision until after the weekend it'd be a lot more understandable. It's a huge game for us, and I can only hope we don't go into the match suffering from the disruption of yet another managerial sacking. Oh, and just for the record, I think the aforementioned 15 fans are complete morons.
Legend_in_blue Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Another dreamer! Dream on man............. So what brilliant manager is going to see us through then, or furthermore what reputable manager would want to come to us with our track record, forget Martin you got no chance. Someone who knows this league. Someone who is able to devise a plan B when plan A doesn't work. Someone who puts a team out away from home not just to contain but to put their mark on the game. Someone who can manage more than 5 wins out of the next 13 games. Someone who can give the players a kick up the backside and sort them out. Someone who doesn't use the words 'gel' or 'tired' as an excuse for failure. The list goes on and on. Unfortunately, despite his reputation, no-one can see past it and none seem able to criticise either.
Dabizas Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Some people think he should of had longer, some people think his time was up! What ever happens booing the owners is to me a joke! I am fully behind them what ever I think about sven, without them we may have been facing another long haul in the champ!!
pablos111 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 eh? what's he dreaming about? Getting us into or play in the premiership! we are simply not good enough....or are we? (I personally haven't seen any evidence yet) It took Mancini 3 years with all his millions to spend to be the best in the premiership, these owners are simply expecting to much too quick, sorry but that is reality. I cant believe im writing all this myself as I bleed blue, but this has really pissed me off.

Thracian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 many of us may disagree with Sven being sacked but the last thing the club needs is the fans to turn the back on the owners and boo Top right now Dead right. Sven's been given a fair chance to succeed and there were no consistent signs of it happening. The owners needed to be sure any new manager would have a reasonable chance to change things around or, at the very least, bring his own men in come January to prepare for another go next season. If MON or any other quality manager was known to be available chances are they wouldn't hang around waiting for ever and wouldn't want the chance of success this season being eroded. After all, if we're so far off the pace by January even big money won't get us the calibre of players we need. So, to me, the owners have timed it about right - a point reflected in my own comment after the Millwall debacle that I'd seen enough....enough to confirm my previous impressions that nothing was getting better. They must surely have felt the same. So far our owners have been as supportive as any could possibly be. Sven had a dream job. Complete freedom to shape his own destiny. But he acted like a kid in a sweetshop, spending someone else's money with gay abandon but limited wisdom. Well, imagine it was your £12m plus that was being spent. Then look at the videos of our matchday performances. And ask if they were getting value? Ask whether you'd have been happy? Cos I'm quite sure I wouldn't have been.

Believe it or not we will be one of the most popular destinations in England right now. Yes the owners demand success but they will back the manager 100%. First choice MON but I would be very happy with Billy Davies. He would do an excellent job IMO.

Oh, and just for the record, I think the aforementioned 15 fans are complete morons. Have you not seen the league table? We are 5 points behind West Ham in 2nd and 8 behind S'hampton. We are effectively sitting in 14th place as Birmingham are two points behind us and have 3 games in hand. A loss on Saturday, which is highly likely as we never win at Upton Park, will put us 8 points behind 2nd. Some people on here need a reality check and I am not at all surprised by today's decision. I left the ground on Saturday with an air of trepidation for what might be. No surprise to me.
Guesty Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't understand all the uproar. If I was the Thais maybe i would have given him a bit longer, but if I'd spent 10/15 mill and the team looked as average as it does now I'd be annoyed. Maybe for all we know there is someone else lined up (dispite them saying there isn't). I guess they're just not interested in what if's and maybes and they know if they kept him and we didn't improve attendances and fan support would dwindle and then it might be too late. Certainly not right to boo the owners though (but I think even most Pro-Sven fans would agree with that).

Martin a definate no no I beleive but some are saying a dark horse might be Rafa! But whatever we are entering a back to square one situation again I fear. (I really hope not though!)

Oh, and just for the record, I think the aforementioned 15 fans are complete morons. You are right about knee jerk reactionaries and the fact that you are either a Sven hater or a Sven Bummer on this board. I still maintain that having to build a team from scratch over the summer was down to Sven disbanding the team he inherited and relying on loanees, that was very short sighted and seriously back fired, I don't think any fans expected us to get promotion after the start we had last season, so why did he not build the foundations for a promotion push this year, probably has something to do with the owners putting pressure on, or over confidence in his ability and underestimating this league. Either way he put all his eggs in one basket last season and it specatcularly backfired and is in my opinion one of the main reasons why he is out of a job. You say if we beat West Ham, we will be in a better position, but that is a big if, if we lose to West Ham then we become further adrift and under more pressure we will never know what would have happened if Sven hadn't been sacked today, but another away performance like those recent ones and we are not going to beat West Ham, maybe this will be a kick up the arse that some of our players need, new manager syndrome can be a positive thing especially as the problems with our squad are more about attitude than ability.

I left the ground on Saturday with an air of trepidation for what might be. No surprise to me. Apologies. For some reason I had it in my head that West Ham were two points clear of us, when in fact it's Leeds I was thinking of! My point about the play-off places being in reach still stands however. A big if indeed. But then I suppose it's down to the owners to decide whether it's a risk worth taking or not. In this case, they've obviously decided that it's not. And I can only hope you're right about the players being given a kick up the arse. We have some top quality players in our team who should have been performing better, so maybe today's events will give them a much needed reality check.
