Little bits from the King Power

Some people need a reality check, shedding tears for Sven.

Get a fcuking grip!

He's had more clubs than most have had women and he was probably only shedding tears cos he didnt get enough compensation!!!

Honestly,he may be a decent bloke and all that but he knew the score so fair doos!

Raj, here I disagree. He was genuinely interested in being part of a bigger scheme, being a manager at a club with great potential, wealthy investors and a big fanbase.

He's always been honest about his assessments after matches - maybe his poor grasp of English didn't do him a favour, but he tried to be as honest as possible.

You can also look at the Post-Millwall comments on the BBC RL - some players clearly didn't give a **** any longer and were working against the man for a longer period already.

THAT is disgraceful.

Sacking a manager in October, this close to the playoff places and with no immediate signs of danger going down the table is worrying to me.

You may call me biased, but from the little bits I heard on the radio when Stringer approached him, Eriksson's definitely disappointed himself about how he's been treated.

He didn't know it was coming during the day, so the news definitely came as a shock to him, too.

They even deserve it more, knowing now that certain elements within the squad actively aided in getting the manager sacked.

Have I missed something or are you just talking about them playing badly?

My view for what it's worth, I feel Sven has been sacked a little bit too early, but if Top and his father believe this was the best option then that is their right. And if it means I won't have to sit and suffer watching anymore of the dross that has been served up at home this season then they will be proved correct. Don't forget they claim they are football fans like us, and they have watched the same performances we have this season, we have spent a few hundred quid, they have spent millions, we complain about the performances but can't do anything about them, they can and have. Only time will tell if the decision is correct, but my faith is still with them!

Just a thought but if the owners have already lined up his replacement which I feel is more than likely could that person have told them " if you want me it has to be now while we are still only two points off a playoff place because if you leave it till it is too late I want bother to take the job on." ?

Nah, just trying to make sense of what Bert said about Sven having lost it in the dressing room recently before he got sacked.

Certain players didn't want to play for him any longer and this became evident during the Millwall game.

Ahhhhh right, yeah just stumbled across those posts.

To be honest we we've been as bad as that in more games than just Millwall, they just took every chance they had. So I'm not sure that's the sole reason for it.

Another dreamer! Dream on man.............

So what brilliant manager is going to see us through then, or furthermore what reputable manager would want to come to us with our track record, forget Martin you got no chance.

Hear! Hear! Totally agree with your Post!

What the hell is going on? The thais want a big name manager to promote this club in Thailand none bigger than Sven?

Who would want to come now? Names being bandied about make me laugth. Curbishley, Davies, Jones, Hughes. Sven could attract big name players to come here. Nugent, Beckford, Danns, Schmeichel wouldn;t have come if Sven hadn;t been here.

Forget O'Neil he wants Premier league.

The Boo boys have had their say and won! Unfortunately this club has too many of them prime example booing the Thai owners whatever next Pathetic!!

No probs Al but Surely though its better to get rid of him now when we are still in contention?

usually we get rid of managers when we are in the shite.

If the owners sensed the writing was on the wall and he has"lost the dressing room" then its the best thing they could do?

get someone in who still has the best part of the season to work with some good players and get them going.

Ive never found Sven inspiring in anything he says.

Yes he may be a nice bloke and all that, good luck to him, just find it abit sad people almost in tears over it.

That's the point - are/were we really in the shite? Or wasn't it simply the case of some players not being bothered any longer?

If Top and Co didnt think the performances warranted the money theyd invested and couldnt see Sven making much inroads isnt it best to make a change sooner rather than later?

It Gives the new manager more time to make a positive influence with the half dcenet players he has.

Also will he not be able to purchase more players(like we have a shortage!!!) in Jan when the window opens?

I aint happy to see Sven go but you get used to it with City and can only try and think of the positives!!!

My view on Sven has changed so much from when he first came. Never liked him at England, probably because of all of the negative press he got, but he does seem like a really genuine nice guy. But that doesn't win matches. Good look in the future Sven!

About to see the deaprture of some players because Sven's gone....Good. If they're only here to play for him not the club then they can fvck off. Part of the problem, tactics aside, is the lack of passion and enthusiasm these players have shown for getting out there and showing a drive to win matches. Being here for the manager not the people who pay your wages is just wrong.

ffs, we're Leicester City not Man United.

Of course the players have signed for Sven or the money, my lad is 6, I think he still believes in Father Christmas and players signing to wear the fox on their chests.

Kiss goodbye now, to any hopes of promotion this season.

Don't be so negative, we have a lot of good players. The only problem we got is if players like Schmeichal feels frustrated......

Remarkably sensible post, for once........

Our owners have backed Sven with funds for transfers and wages, made improvements to the stadium and renovated the training ground.

I imagine they have simply looked at the results and decided they are simply not good enough for the money invested, simple as that.

Personally I think this has been the case for some time and as early as April this year I was calling for Sven to be 'moved upstairs' to a director of football style role and a decent first team coach appointed. That to me would have ticked all the boxes, Sven looking at the big picture, setting the tone etc and a younger, tactically astute coach in charge of 1st team affairs.

However they stuck with Sven and it didn't really work out so they made the decisive move, quickly and with little fuss.

I have no issue with that whatsoever, no mucking about, results not good enough, possible unrest in the dressing room, something clearly had to be done and they have done it.

I'm genuinely sad to see Sven go but I give the owners tremendous credit for having the courage of their convictions and acting firmly on them. I'm actually pretty impressed!......

I wasn't saying that hackney, I hate the badge-kissing as much as anyone but players know what the managerial merry-go-round is like and its daft to just sign for a manager when they rarely last longer than a year or two. Money issues aside you should come here to be successful & get promoted otherwise why play?

Players like it if the team is playing well and being successful.

Our players are good enough to see off anyone in this division, if they are properly set up, prepared and motivated. Once this is the case I think the frustration and unrest will dissapear overnight

Any decent manager would fancy the job at City, 30 odd matches left this season, only half a dozen points off second place, very powerful squad and in all likelyhood funds to spend in january.

Whats not to like.....

Do you think it was the results or the performances? Even in our victories we often looked lifeless and devoid passion and ideas, and our defeats never looked like being anything else as soons as we went behind and we seemed unable to learn from them.

As a lot point out on here we are only 2 points off the play-offs but that only tells one side of the story the other is on the pitch where adding up the number of minutes we spent playing positive attacking football this season probably equates to about 90 minutes, even against Derby we were just going through the motions in the second half until Howard, Dyer and Schlupp came on.

It was the awful performances not the average results that got Sven sacked IMO.

What planet are you on, we've only won approximately 1/3rd of our games over the past 8 months, given that he's the most heavily backed manager in our history & probably in the 2nd tier ever, is he doing his job or even close to doing it.

He is mediocrity personified & it shows in 2/3rds of the performances.

So Sven's a nice guy? I don't recall anyone saying that about any successful manager ever?

For the record I think he should have been here to the summer, not out of loyalty to Sven, but what chance has someone got with another manager's (completely inflexible) squad. The 1 thing they probably have is loyalty to the manager & now that's gone.

We're going to need a stellar appointment to go up & unless we've already snatches them, I'd have stuck with Sven.

Would agree with most of that cc except maybe the inflexible squad bit. We've actually got a fairly flexible squad. Schlupp, Beckford, Nugent, Vassell and Howard are all different attacking options, the midfield's got players who can go wide like Dyer, Danns and even Vassell again and players like Johnson and Gallagher have creativity in there.

I'll guarantee you that with our playing staff and the promise of cash in January, most of the out work and some of the in-work managers out there would give an organ to come and boss this lot.

Quite right, I was using "results" in a wider sense, Ie for the money invested the club was not improving quickly enough, match results. performances, enterainment value, all were not what was anticipated.

It is worth remembering that King Power have tied themselves very much to the club and some degree of success is essential given their investment, sure it is a 'business decision' but I still see that as a very positive situation.

Their aim is all about getting their brand represented on the world stage via The Premier League. Results aside if the performances and outward impression of the club aren't good - via the media and games shown on TV - they and their company suffer through association. Unattractive football that brought success would have been acceptable. Pretty football with inconsistent performances and patchy results is unacceptable.
