Guest Bilo Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Martin O'Neill PROS Enormous passion. A bona fide Leicester legend should even got the boo boys on side. Superb man management abilities. From Wycombe to Celtic, he has experienced success everywhere he's gone. He's Martin O'Neill. CONS Has not managed at this level since 1996. Demands absolute autonomy from the board. Billy Davies PROS Knows this league like the back of his hand. Teams are always very difficult to beat. Excellent man management and inspires considerable loyalty among his players. Encourages attractive football. CONS Ex Forest manager will have to hit the ground running or face the consequences with the fans. Could start an argument in an empty phone box with no money. The collapse of Preston, Derby and Forest after his departure from each suggests his influence isn't sustainable. Tendency to bottle the play-offs with three failures to his name. Mark Hughes PROS Big name the Thais seem to want. Had some success at Man City and most thought his sacking harsh. A good eye for a player. Links with Manchester United could bring in loanees. CONS Not much in the way of silverware. Not necessarily the greatest football is played. Add as appropriate.

ACF Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Muzzy Izzet Pros Grimsby Legend. Grimsby Cons. Possibly no Powell/Pearson-esque celebration due to fact he could cripple himself.

Captain... Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Martin O'Neill PROS Enormous passion. I don't see that as a con, I don't think the owners have ever got involved in the playing side, and rightly so too, they were all Sven's signings, and you can tell that by the fact he had worked with a large number of them before. Martin demands to be backed financially by the board and allowed to manage the team his way with his staff. That is exactly what the owners let Sven do, and that is why Sven went. They were his players, his team, his formation and his backroom staff which were not good enough despite the owners not because of. Now please come with some good reasons why we shouldn't get Martin as our manager before we all get over excited and inevitably disappointed.
Corky Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Neil Warnock Pros No manager has ever won as many promotions to the top flight as him. If there is one man guaranteed to get you up it's Neil. Likeable personality and has said some lovely things about the club in the past A real character Cons There aren't any, he's just amazing.
TMELcfc Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Bruno Berner Legend + Passion + Could pick himself to play. Or Chris Powell and Steve Walsh

He is, even leaving aside the understandable nostalgia, far and away the best candidate available. Sorry.
He's not bald Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 best bit i missed is christ will quit man city and lead the attack Well you wouldn't want him in goal imagine what crosses would do to him

Mack Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 King Dong Pros: Fortune saved on Stadium sprinkler bill. Spectacular pre match displays No player would ever doubt a manager with a 3rd leg as big as his. Cons: He's dead.
WardyisPukka Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Di Matteo Pros: Experience of what is needed for promotion Attacking exciting football Cons: Still relatively inexperienced Will Chelsea let him go? Another one that no has mentioned yet but could be interesting or a joke! Walter Smith? Maybe another Scottish failure or would he knock a few heads together and get us playing hard gritty football! i wud slightly prefer him to the other tainted scot davies!
CountesthorpeFox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Let me simplify this thread. Martin O'Neill Pros - Everyone will be happy. Anyone other than Martin O'Neill Cons - they are not Martin O'Neill.
Babylon Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Thracian Pros He'd talk a good game We'd be great at squash Marbella Dave will be too busy helping with training to post on here Cons Article in matchday programme would be 8 pages long He'll sign Sheehan and Porter We'd conceed 700 goals in one season
