i think matt mills will remind him of him when he was a player! he wanted danns at hull and tried to sign beckford for us! he'll love nugent cause he works hard! peltier is a pearson signing! he'll rate them all!

I think with Pearson's no nonsense sort of attitude he'll sort Beckford out and get him playing with Nugent and form a good partnership. Hope he has plans for Schlupp as well! Don't think he'll kill the partnership Bamba has with Mills and the only reason he might break it up is if he wants to get ready for when Bamba goes to the cup of nations in the new year.

Think Vassell is done for but noone else for sure. Excited about seeing what will happen to Mills. Think he could really improve under Pearson. Not sure about the rest yet !

Does anyone else think in hindsight we shouldn't have signed Mills. £5m down the drain

Mills is a good defender but he isn't worth £5 million and he knows it, now he has to try and live up to the expectation of playing every game worthy of £5 million. I feel sorry for him in all honesty

Mills should excel under Pearson, no nonsense defender, if he can turn Hobbs into a player of the season god knows what he could do with Mills.

A few of them will be in trouble, Beckford will be off before too long, Bamba will have to really go into his shell to survive, Peltier might struggle not being the best defensively. Abe will vanish like a fart in the wind.

One person thinks Nugent is in bother????????

Do people on this forum actually go to matches? I seen nothing except huge passion and dedication from him every time he plays! Would be first on my 'safe' list.

Pretty sure it wasn't anything like 5m in reality.

Might be £5M with add-ons.

I know I'm going to get battered for this and somebody's probably already said it, but, I'd love it if Pearson brought Matty Fryatt back with him.

They all seemed easy enough except Beckford.

There's no doubt the guy has talent and the ability to score goals with the right service.

It's equally apparent he looks a liability when he's not scoring and has often displayed the sort of reaction and body language which suggests that he'd be the last person on Pearson's books.

But, if we do get an attacking coach and if Pearson's force of personality can get the best out of him then it could be a blessing for both off them - Beckford cos he's nothing like the best he could be and Pearson because he badly needs to show that he can attack as well as defend effectively.

Overall I think people are what they are and that there'll likely be a parting. But I saw just enough from Beckford on Sunday to make me wonder whether he's another DJ Campbell, a bloke with attitude problems who could be nurtured into being brilliant by the right mentor...brilliant for himself and as a team man.

lol I was waiting for someone to post this! Nah seriously Fryatt was awesome for us and I love what he did for the club, but I think what we have now is better. I'd personally rather see Hobbs come back and play alongside Mills in defense. Think under Pearson that could be the most solid defensive pairing in the league!

Wouldn't mind that as well to be fair.

Makes me laugh how you all go on about Beckford having a bad attitude, I have never heard this about him from any other club he's been at, so he stared out a bunch of idiots in the crowd who to be honest are a discrace for booing him in the first place, you know nothing about the way he conducts himself off of the pitch so stop going on like you do !

 I lived near Leeds when Beckford was playing for them. Although they appreciated his talent, Leeds fans were always complaining about his 'attitude'.

Fans complain about Beckford's attitude because he comes across as a stroppy individual that's quick to lose interest if things aren't going the team's way.

But do we actually know that he's got an "attitude" in the context of the dressing room? I keep hearing people call him a divisive influence but how the hell do they actually know? I was watching him fairly closely during the warm ups yesterday (before the match and at half time) and I have to say I didn't really see it. Despite a poor run of form and being dropped, he was having a laugh and a bit of fun messing around with Sol Bamba and he had his arm around him after a bout of juggling. He then went and (whilst I thought this was a bit naive in that it was obviously going to irk our fans) went and made his presence known with the Leeds coaches and players and almost everyone was pleased to see him. I've never seen a man get hugged so much on a football pitch.

And he can't have left any great lasting heartache on the Leeds fans because they spent half of the game singing his name. :dunno:

That could, and should, be us. If there's one quality Pearson almost certainly has that Sven doesn't it's motivation. If Pearson takes a shine to Beckford, recognizes his potential and makes an effort then I don't see why the two can't work well together. Relationships like that are a two way business, some players just are a little more of a handful. You can't fall out with every single one and not make an effort; you think Alex Ferguson can afford to just take an "oh, sod you then" attitude with Rooney? We've seen before that even Fergie's got to get on his knees and pucker up to a little backside from time to time.

They would spend the game singing Ian Huntleys name if he scored the winner for Leeds at Old Trafford.

I despair.

Sol Sol Bamba

Pearson's one not known for taking egos lightly. Beckford will go the same way as DJ unless he ships the attitude - fast.

Vassell, with his injury, is at risk, especially with Dyer being one of Pearson's signings and showing good form so far this year.

I think we'll see the best out of someone like Danns from Pearson. He's one with passion and seems a decent enough fella with the ability, but has struggled for fitness it would seem.

And I think Big Sol Bamba, for all his ability and good form this year, might give Pearson such a heart scare that he'll opt for somebody else. I wouldn't be suprised to see Tunch back in defence.
