I doubt Bamba's got too much to worry about. I'd hope not, anyway.

You'd expect managers in this division to have a keen knowledge of other squads and players in this league and Bamba's performances have been absolutely outstanding this year. I highly doubt that's gone un-noticed.

I can see Beckford doing well under Pearson. I recall him mentioning how much of a danger Beckford was when we were in League One and i'm sure he'll be looking forward to working with him. Likewise Nugent, who has already been superb this season. I can see him being very prolific under Nigel if he get's some wingers in.

I would love him to go in for a hug with Ritchie on his first day in training but drop the shoulder on him and fook him off.

I think Fernandes will be done for under Pearson. He's just been a bit of a jack of all and not particularly outstanding at anything bloke this season. On top of that being a loanee...

Vass I agree with the general he could be done for. Beckford I see as doing well for some reason.

What about Yuki, I think he might struggle too...

If Tunch stays fit for us and doesn't go back out on loan or sold then with Bamba, Mills and the smooth velvetty Belgian SSL could well be waving bye bye as well. Can't say I will be disappointed with that. I still think he was a signing for signings sake.

Oh and I'm unsure on Danns but if its true Pearson tried to sign him at Hull then who knows. Ultimately though Pearson main job is sorting out and balancing the bloody midfield.

Actually, come to think of it, weren't we linked with Beckford in the summer of 2009?

I'm sure we were at some point, maybe not then, but iirc Beckford's name was mentioned when Pearson was here before.

Although Nigel signed Weale (on a limited budget, well he was free) and go the best out of him, I still think Kasper will be the number one still. I would imagine Pearson talks to the coaching staff, and Mike Stowell will comment about how well Kasper has been since signing.

I think he will like Peltier, and also Mills as he is the type of central defender which Nigel likes, and the same applies to St. Ledger. I rekon Johnson will be the safest out of the loanees and might even come back into midfield. I think Danns will be safe and also I think Pearson will like Nugent.

Safe: Kasper, Peltier, Mills, St. Ledger, Johnson, Beckford, Danns, Nugent.

On the other hand, there are several players that are on the line in my opinion, players that might have to work for their places or might be shipped out later on in coming months. I definetly think Nigel Pearson will not like Bamba which doesn't bother me too much, as he likes the type of Mills central defender; just do the job. I can see Pantsil and Ball on their way out, and even Konchesky might have to play for his place. I don't know when Tom Kennedy is back, but remember he was a Pearson signing, so we could see some changes at left back in my opinion. Also, I think Fernandes will be gone; whether his loan is terminated or he just plays little untill the end of the season, and I can also see Vassell struggling.

On the line: Konchesky, Pantsil, Bamba, Vassell, Ball, Fernandes.

I would be happy to see Hobbs back. He was comfortable and looked quality under Pearson at the back for us in both League 1 and the Championship. I only add this because I think Bamba will leave, which leaves Mills who will play, St. Ledger who will perhaps initially partner Mills and Tunchev who is still out.

I think we could see many changes within the squad because I think players such as Abe are on the line.

The thing with Fernandes is he's not played in his position this season at all I don't think, he is a ball winner sitting in front of the back 4, not a player playing in the wider midfield roles. This sort of player is what we lacked when Pearson was here last, which is why he brought in Spearing. IN my opinion, Fernandes is better than Abe at this job.

I know pearson is known as a 4-4-2 man, but he did try the 4-3-3 a few times if I remember right and with the squad as it is currently then I think its the best formation for us. Fernades, Wellens/Johnson and King in the middle with Gallagher/Dyer, Nugent and Beckford rotating up top.

UNfortunately because of the amounts of centre mids we have, can see Johnson and Fernandes going.

Danns could be interesting if we play 4-4-2, because he could maybe play the narrow wideman role which Oakley did, with Dyer on the left.

One for thing sure, Pearson has got some big decisions with which centre midfielders he goes for.

Not even read this post it's a witch hunt !!!!!

Every player on city's books has a clean sheet , that's how we should view it ....

A new start!

First one Weale's kept in 2011!

I think Np will surprise a lot of our fans this time, talk to the hull lot, they don't okay long ball stuff all the time, he will assess the team when he arrives, the only player I think we won't see much of is Fernandes.

Looks like Vassell is a gonner

MJ might be sent back to Man City, I don't think Nige will have the patience shown by Sven towards his continued lack of fitness.

Hope your wrong on this one, his potential is huge.

According to an article in a Swiss newspaper today, Gelson Fernandes is looking at other options, possibly a return to Italy (whilst still being contracted to AS St. Etienne).

Commenting on his lack of playing time in recent weeks, he said it had to do with being "one of Sven's signings".

All the best elsewhere. It was fun while it lasted.

Bit of a shame that, if that article is true, thought he done ok for us but so be it i wonder if there are any more of svens signings that are maybe thinking the same and possibly moving on - time will tell i suppose

He wasn't exactly a first name on the sheet under Sven was he?

If he was just here to play for Sven it's no loss anyway. I thought he did ok but I thought a Swiss international was going to stand out more.

When it comes to Bamba then I think he is the best centre back we have had for a very long time, and hopefully Pearson won't get distracted by his unconventional playing style. I think if he gets off to a good start under Pearson and they form a good relationship then I think he can really thrive under his management.

If they don't hit it off straight away then I can see him being on his way out as soon as Sven finds a job somewhere else (assuming it is not an international job). If he does take over at Blackburn, as some have predicted, I could see him coming in for Bamba, and if he is not getting on well with Pearson I would expect him to leave.

I hope not though.

Even if St Ledger plays today I don't think it's the end for Bamba.

St Ledger doesn't deserve to be dropped after last week. We've only got four centre-backs (and Tunch's fitness will always be a concern) so Bamba will be involved.

Abe seems to be sinking.

Doesn't dominate like his style should suggest it might.

Fernandes' might be able to dominate in front of the back 4, if his head's right after Sven's departure & he sacrifices his natural desire to break in to the opponents half.
