TheLabMan Posted 8 November 2011 Author Posted 8 November 2011 Sorry chaps, didn't mean "HATERS" as such....I mean the "non" supporters who ring RL, and don't know what they are talking about!!! I will love my LCFC WHATEVER manager we have, it is the team and club as a whole that matters! But I MUST say NP did a great job for us, whether League 1 (Forest, Leeds took longer to get back!) AND to take us to the [play-offs in 1st season! We can only hope and pray NP starts where he left off and do one better again and get us back to the premier! The Play-offs were lost simply because he knew he was being pushed out!! Why would anyone in any job feel a passion for a team with a boss who is about to sack him? It may be about money, but NP wants to come back to LCFC! Thats all that matters, the true supporters of our club will NO DOUBT get behind him, chant his name at Palace match, and get behind the team like we always have done through the good and bad times! Enough said!
whitwickfox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 im affraid this doesnt prove anything just stats you can win more games in tennis but lose the match
whitwickfox Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 o and dont start this true supporters shit again
Guest bennytwohats Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 Couldn't agree more, when I supported Sven I was labelled a lover and when I questioned the appointment of NP who I actually never wanted to leave (but was glad I went to more home than away games those seasons) I apparently became a Pearson hater....... Quite simply I'd have preferred Sparky, preferred to give Sven until Christmas blah blah blah, I'll support the team and the appointment, you won't see me graffitiing every thread possible with poisonous remarks about the manager, unlike some during Sven's reign. I simply hope we go forwards in our development and acquisition of players rather than backwards. Happy? Well I'm not doing cartwheels. Disappointed? Not as much as I would have been with Billy Davies. Looking forward to the rest of the season? Not especially, we really needed stability but hey ho - I'm not unhappy and I'll support the team. The one thing we have lacked in this division is steel. All our players in midfield and attack with the exception of Howard and Johnson are simply not physical enough for this division. That's what Pearson will bring in hopefully somebody that can cross a ball and some steel. Bring on the war chest and the transfer window and maybe work out which of the 9 central midfielders in the side we want to keep. You've summed up my feelings perfectly there

liamsm Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 So if Stat's dont meen anything... Does that make Iain Dowie a god? Of course it does, A false god
Tielemans63 Posted 8 November 2011 Posted 8 November 2011 The statistics are unreliable however what I liked about NP was that we never really went on a bad run during his tenure. We never went more than about 4 games without winning.
Thracian Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 NIGEL PEARSON Games W D L % Leicester City 107 55 30 22 51.34 Promotion to Championship 1st season in charge, how long did it take Leeds & Forest? Then in Play-offs! MON Leicester City 223 85 68 70 38.12 NO-ONE can knock this man. Lower % but won trophies, in Premier League and got us in Europe SVEN Leicester City 55 24 14 17 43.64 Maybe could have got more time, but we all saw the tactics and frustrating displays! MICKEY ADAMS Leicester City 111 41 38 32 36.94 Got us promoted! MARK MCGHEE Leicester City 51 16 14 21 31.37 Go Away! CRAIG LEVEIN Leicester City 72 20 26 26 27.78 Go Away! GORDAN MILNE 35.95 Ooops! PETER TAYLOR 35.19 Best signings ever - Akinbiyi/Junior Lewis - We will NEVER forget you! IAN HOLLOWAY 28.13 Mmmmm....... MARTIN ALLEN 50.00 TBH, Never got a chance! So to all the NP haters, where are Hull City currently in the table? Where were we when NP took over? Can you really say there is any better candidates out there? And do you think he would have left if he had wanted to? How about publishing NP's Championship stats at Leicester and Hull? As for your comments you could as easily use the Sven comment for Pearson.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 I don't hate Pearson, and neither do I want him for our manager. Everyone is entitled to an opinion . The people I dislike the most, are those who present opinions, as fact.

Jace Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Premiership, Championship and League 1 stats all merged together means nothing you may aswell say Lee Clark is a better manager than Alex Ferguson

acooling08 Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Many of Pearson's wins were at the lowest League of football that we have ever been at. MON's win % isn't as good because we were playing in the Prem for so long!!
Babylon Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 Anyone know what his win percentage was in the championship alone... and for hull? Forget that.... quick calculation 45.65% here and 37.70 at Dull.
Criggers Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 You know I can say I'm excited about Pearson coming back. I never wanted him to go, why would anyone have wanted him to go? And there was nobody else who could come in that anyone would be excited about. Other than MON which was always incredibly unlikely! But at the end of the day, for all the "boring" football ewe won games and were only ever heading in one direction from start to finish and that was up the league. All good teams start with solid foundations at the back and the good old solid "spine". I'm looking forward to Pearson getting those things in place and cementing a top 6 position before Xmas. I really do believe that can happen. And then who knows what wi be added come January! But I think Pearson will make better signings for the team rather than just signing people for the sake of it. So all in all I think waving Sven off was the right thing to do and at the right time. The only 3 managers that seem like good options after Sven were MON, Hughes and Pearson (although I did start to come round to Clarke when he was heavily linked). We [edit - might have] got one of them so let's get on with it!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 Looking forward to catching rabbits DT ? Err. No actually.
carterfox90 Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 even if nigel does come back im not disapointed but then again not overjoyed but he does get results & maybe with the extra money who knows what we might achieve with him at the helm. i didnt really think he would want to come back to us after how he was treated before but as they say footballs a funny old game !!!!
seenitall Posted 11 November 2011 Posted 11 November 2011 This is as close to my thoughts on the matter as you can get - so that's two of us............. http://articles.squarefootball.net/squarefootball/2011/11/leicester-city-nigel-pearson-return-of-the-king-or-a-ghost-that-that-should-have-stayed-buried.html
Oakes5 Posted 11 November 2011 Posted 11 November 2011 Although these stats do show a great % win rate compared to other managers. We did have a season in league one against teams like cheltenham and won 27 games that season. Not an NP doubter glad he's back and can hopefully bring stability and consistency back to the team, but we cant keep banging on about his stats.
muzzy1981 Posted 11 November 2011 Posted 11 November 2011 Pleased we are getting him back but he is far from the finished article, got a lot to prove i.e. Promotion and sustainability in the Premiership. Good look to him, just so pleased it isn't Keane
