21st Century Fox Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 You can't blame Steve Bruce for the money spent or lengths of contracts, he won't have a say in that matter, but you can blame him for the choices, the lack of ability in motivating them and you'd have to ask questions as to why seemingly comfortable star players up and leave so quickly under strange circumstances.
Corky Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Three home wins in 2011- no wonder the regulars are fed up.
Happy Fox Posted 30 November 2011 Author Posted 30 November 2011 Sacked. Inevitable after loosing at the weekend and fan pressure etc, MON or Mark Hughes for the Sunderland job
John Matrix Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Sunderland have parted company with manager Steve Bruce, skysports.com understands. Bruce has left the Wearside club after talks with owner Ellis Short, and comes with the club sat in 16th - just two places above the drop-zone. Home fans reacted with fury at the weekend's loss to relegation rivals Wigan - which has led Short into making the decision. The 50-year-old has been with Sunderland since June 2009, when he left Wigan to take up the reigns at the Stadium of Light. Martin O'Neill is in talks to take over
Happy Fox Posted 30 November 2011 Author Posted 30 November 2011 ScottRichardss Scott Richards Sven's just emailed his CV over to the Stadium of Light. #lcfc #safc
Brainy Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Wes Brown, shit? . I remember though he had a period a few years ago where he was probably Utd's best defender, he had an amazing game against Barcelona in the CL Semi's.

Corky Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Another triffic young English manager loses his job, no doubt to be replaced by someone inferior. He needed time to settle in at Sunderland, sacked far too soon.

Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Wes Brown, shit? . I remember though he had a period a few years ago where he was probably Utd's best defender, he had an amazing game against Barcelona in the CL Semi's. So he was Uniteds best defender and couldn't get in the England team? I've got little sympathy to be honest, spent a lot of money and is in a shit position in one of the weakest Premierships for years, being outperformed by teams like Norwich is probably not up to the standard the board up there accepts. It's MON's if he wants it? Let's say he does, how many of you would keep Bruce over O'Neill?
Bert Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 So he was Uniteds best defender and couldn't get in the England team? Steve Bruce, often Man Uniteds best defender. He never got into the England team. Does that make him shit too!?
Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Steve Bruce, often Man Uniteds best defender. He never got into the England team. Does that make him shit too!? Not really, Man U were not that dominant at that point as what they are now and we had an international teams hitting World Cup semi finals, not one than had to pick players like Glen Johnson at right back. How lucky is Steve Bruce anyway?! Gets sacked on the last day of November - on the first day of December every department store in the country looks for a fat twat who has experience of wearing red and white.
Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Mind you at least he didn't move for Johnny Evans :

So when Man Utd won the league in 93/94, 95/96, 96/97 as well as FA Cups they werent dominant? 3 titles in 5 seasons? Would love to know your definition of good!

Bert Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Bruce hardly played in 2 of those seasons! Maybe not so much 96/67 but he certainly played 95/96.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Maybe not so much 96/67 but he certainly played 95/96. He'd have been doing well if he was playing for Man Utd in 96/97, given that he'd moved to Birmingham by that point
Bert Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 He'd have been doing well if he was playing for Man Utd in 96/97, given that he'd moved to Birmingham by that point Really? Eeeuugghh.
Ambitious Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 https://www.mls.com/sporting-kansas-city/news/907777645321-- Sunderland chairman Ellis Short has made an approach to Sporting Club a consortium that own MLS side Sporting Kansas City, in regards to permission to speak to their Head Coach Peter Vermes, about the possibility of replacing recently sacked Steve Bruce at the Stadium of Light. The former USA International is seen as a hot prospect in North America after a successful reign at Livestrong Sporting Park, recently guiding SKC to the Eastern Conference Title and was a strong contender to replace Bob Bradley as the National Teams Head Coach, until German legend Jurgen Klinsmann was given the job.
