Is this the same mighty and brilliant Blackpool that have mustered up a whole point more than us in18 games? How can anyone show them so much respect when the difference is a point - 3-0 City, Beckford Nugent to share goals

Just thought I'd say hello. Too many irrelevant threads at the moment. We are playing Blackpool tomorrow. Lets talk about that. Come on you blue boys! 6 -0. Let's be loud and proud and who knows tomorrow night we MIGHT just be in the top 6. Beckford could have a stormer, Wellens might pass the ball forward and Dyer get a good cross in. God I'm in a good mood tonight. Tonight's gonna be a good good night. It's great being a city fan!

Nigel Pearson says his Leicester City side could play like the away team tonight, despite being on home soil when they take on attack-minded Blackpool at the King Power Stadium.

Pearson knows that the Tangerines love to go on the attack and believes City must capitalise on their counter-attack opportunities.

The City boss said his side must use their pace and precision to good effect if they are to come out on top against Ian Holloway's side, who are unbeaten in four games.

"They will be, as they always are, very expansive," said Pearson.

"I don't think they ever go into a game not trying to win it. But we have got to deal with their strengths and try to exploit their weaknesses.

"They generally play with a 4-3-3 and, because they are so attack-minded, we have to make sure that on the turnovers we counter-attack with some purpose.

"I have seen enough in the two games since I have returned to know we have some serious threats to any opposition.

"What we have to do is make sure we work hard as a team when we haven't got the ball, and even harder when we do to break teams down and make the experience of playing us as difficult as possible.

"We have to exploit our opportunities when they come along and I think that will be on the counter-attack.

"That is the biggest thing, on turnovers."

City could take a giant stride into the top six tonight, for the first time since Pearson was last in charge of City, if they can overcome Blackpool.

"It is an important game for us because when midweek games come quickly you can get some momentum, and it really does give more optimism," he said.

"The flipside is you don't want to lose ground and we certainly can't afford that. We want to be making inroads into the league.

"It is all about us and what we do ourselves. That is the most important thing.

"It will be a tough game, but I am sure Blackpool will see this as a tough game too.

"We have to be as consistent as possible and whoever is in our starting XI has to do everything they can to make sure they bring their best form to the table."

City have no other injury concerns ahead of tonight's game. Pearson's only absentee is Darius Vassell, who is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Looking forward to tonights game mainly to see what starting XI NFP chooses and how he sets them up.

On saturday I thought his substitutions and subsequent formation change completely altered the course of the game, Pompey were getting well on top at the start of the second half and our changes completely broke up their pattern of play and we were the better side for the rest of the half.

The Pompey goal was unlucky, a miss-hit clearance and a deflected shot was the only way Schmeichel was going to get beat that day and the 'Pearson factor' in our play made our response both quick and effective. A little more quality (and fitness) from a couple of our players may well have enabled us to push for a win but we were simply not sharp enough, decent point in the end.

The only dissappointing aspect of our play was that neither Peltier nor Konchesky really got forward to support (standard away tactics?) so for an hour or more we offered nothing much down either flank, I know this is early days and NFP really wanted a solid performance but if we are to be genuine promotion candidates these are matches we really should be looking to win and on saturday we were not quite ambitious enough to make that happen.

Still early days and I am pretty impressed with the way NFP has gone about his business so far.

Haha, I am convinced Beckford will come good. I might be being hypocritical but i've seen enough of Lloyd to be assured that he's not good enough for this level. Jermaine has succeeded at a higher level and is a confidence player. Another goal tonight and it's another step along the path to prolificness for us. :)

A further 6 games, if he's not returned another 2-3 goals then i'd look at alternatives in January.

Will take any sort of win tonight, no matter how scrappy. Blackpool have some pace about them, so would'nt mind seeing Sol back in at the back.

Do you think King will be mentally fit for tonight after the weekend news, bring Danns in instead, 1-0

Yes he will be.

On the OS he seemed keen to play.

Just had a text from my wife wanting me to take her out tonight. I've told her I'm too tired. I'm going to be in the doghouse when she finds out the real reason.

C'mon City :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
