Guy Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Game was pretty good, although first half was not too great and mills really needs to learn how to find a blue shirt. Just like to do my usual moan about the fans that left early again. Thousands of them. Once again you lot should be ashamed of yourselves, you are making my club, along with the fat prat with the drum, a laughing stock. STAY AND CHEER the lads off. You are an embarrassment, hang your heads in shame. The plague of the modern game I'm afraid, people leaving early. I've not once left a ground early in 26 years of attending footie games.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I thought we were poor in the first half. Stood off and let Blackpool run at us. Wellens was absent in defence and wasteful in possession, whilst Bamba was fortunate not to go into the book on a couple of occasions. Certainly we were very fortunate to go in ahead. Second half was a different story. We created 6 or 7 good opportunities to score, many of which came about through the adoption of a far more intense pressing game, and Danns' goal was a just reward for a good cameo. Individually, I thought Beckford looked better, but to be fair that wouldn't have taken a lot. A couple of good turns (one of which led to a good shot) showed some class, but his touch in and around the penalty area left much to be desired. He also won a fair amount in the air, which although not his job, certainly showed an improvement on earlier games. Mills looks like Vidic in the air but a competition winner when in possession. I thought Dyer had a very unusual game for him. Ordinarily he has a few good runs and not much comes of them whereas yesterday he didn't do too much but set up two goals. The first, in particular, showed good awareness. Yesterday was also one of the first times I'd seen him be effective when drifting inside. Great pass by Wellens to set him away from the second. Thought Andy King shaded man of the match. Did his usual conservative-in-possession spiel and made some great runs, one of which he scored from. His defensive work in the second half was also excellent. Shelvey looks like he'll be a good player one day. Ran the midfield for long spells in the first half. A good win.
vandamman Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Maybe people just got stuff to do... Its a Tuesday night, all them kids have got homework. Cracking result, its a good sign to see that we are now grinding out good results without playing to our full potential, more to come. I don't think i've seen enough scarf waving in this thread, TOP 6
Number 6 Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 A lot of positives: Lots of chances created. Kasper solid as always. THAT is the Danns I thought we had signed. Closing down. Option for Kasper. Dangerous ball across 6 yard box and a goal. King is back. Back into playoffs.
Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 I honestly find it amazing, I and the people I was with must have viewed a completely different. The number of groans around us because of his poor touch, poor choice of pass, or poor execution were quite regular. I'm not saying he was bad. And I don't want to it look like I'm blasting the lad, far from it. But I'd never have used "great", "awesome", "amazing", "excellent" to describe his game. Just proves how we all see different things. I think maybe he looked so much better to me and others because a) until recently he's been so indescribeably bad and b) because his attitude was so much better. His first touch is still poor but I didn't see hardly any jogging around when he could have closed down, hardly any giving up on 50/50s, and generally looking more confident and dangerous. No way was he amazing or great, but definitely a significant improvement. Like I said though, may be more to do with how bad he was before
Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Did anyone else here the Molly Malone chant yesterday In Dublins fair city, where the girls are so pretty, I once met a girl called sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheelbarrow, through the streets broad and narrow, Singing *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* LEICESTER, *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* LEICESTER, Was a lad in L1 who was singing it on his own, didn't know what the song was at the time.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 It always gets a reaction on our travels as well. We were singing it in a pub in Preston last season and two local lasses looked as though we'd just starting doing the Robin Friday Elephant dance.
prayforsnow Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Was a lad in L1 who was singing it on his own, didn't know what the song was at the time. That was me. I also tried Bertie Mee. Anything to get abit of atmosphere!

OneHorseVillage Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Highlights anywhere yet? x Might have missed someone posting them elsewhere..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/15831992.stm
liamsm Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Sven's team played a corker, including the much maligned Danns So all the midfield players that started where " Svens team " don't make me laugh, they have been here since NP's last stint here. Nigel Pearsons blue and white army
liamsm Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 True about Bamba in that sense but I still think he had a good an commanding game. He's a mile better than St Ledger, no idea why he gets so much stick. Because he plays for Leicester City and their fans are so fickle

You are an embarrassment, hang your heads in shame. So i'm an embarrassment because i leave early, you are an idiot to make such a statement, i, and i'm sure i'm not the only one have walking problems and if i waited until the last whistle to leave i would probably get knocked over or delay a lot of people leaving as i cant go down the stairs very fast. try thinking before you spout your crap next time
Durnerz Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 First game of the season for me, thought we knocked it around well and were patient and pressed at the right times as they did look dangerous on occasions. Konchesky and Bamba especially impressive for me. Written a full review on the blog Read all about it here
NewburyFox Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 So i'm an embarrassment because i leave early, you are an idiot to make such a statement, i, and i'm sure i'm not the only one have walking problems and if i waited until the last whistle to leave i would probably get knocked over or delay a lot of people leaving as i cant go down the stairs very fast. try thinking before you spout your crap next time No need to take it personally, I'm sure the guy you quoted would be happy to accept that you're an exception. The point is that thousands of people in the ground don't have walking problems and still choose to leave early.
