Salieri Posted 29 November 2011 Author Posted 29 November 2011 table topping form so far under Pearson we looked far more offensive today going foward. Amazing save from Schmeichel early on to stop us going behind match changing save for the first time since the Coventry game I think we stand a good chance of being promoted. Thought Beckford had a good game too was very unlucky not to score today Was crucial, Blackpool were threatening a lot early on and the crowd were getting restless. First goal was key and really settled us down.
nickelbyfox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Really like the tempo watching the game online, Dyer and the strikers were full of pace and looked good. But fair play to blackpool who came to play a high tempo attacking game and really allowed it to open up
Captain... Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Watched on the stream so can't comment too much, but it was great to see us take the lead and not sit back. We never felt under pressure because we didn't let them come at us, we continued to play our game for the whole 90 minutes and we looked in control of the game at the end, could have scored more. Beckford also looked good, the first time I would say he has played better than Nugent, looked hungry confident would have scored if it wasn't for a great save, had a few other good chances. Bamba made a difference, looked better than SSL, not that that surprises me. Good to see Danns score, well I saw him look like he was going to score then the stream froze. Only criticism is the subs bench GK, 3 CMs and Howard in the end it didn't matter but SSL should have been on the bench in place of Abe or Fernandes. Again I disagree with Nigel's subs, Gallagher had a good game, his delivery from set pieces was better today and he has the ability to score or create a goal from nothing and Beckford was playing better than Nugent and deserved to stay on. What benefit is there in playing Fernandes for the last few minutes but then he's the manager and gets paid to make these decisions, just not the ones I would have made. But it was a very good performance another good result top 6
wellyfox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Great start for NP and thank god he can;t win the curse that is manager of the month. Be a certain loss at hull if he had. Great win first top six n the trees bottom 3
GLC Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 at Pearson to Stringer 'You never see me rushing to see you'
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Good result now to beat Hull and start to consolidate our spot in the top 6
VinceNoir Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Was it Nugent who said that Nige has managed to lift the players and even the ones who aren't regular starters were buzzing? I think you could see that this evening when when Danns came on. He looked very lively. Great performance by everyone, especially in the 2nd half. Now we need to get those back to back wins!!
Jace Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Was crucial, Blackpool were threatening a lot early on and the crowd were getting restless. First goal was key and really settled us down. I cannot understand why bigger clubs have not been interested in him his saves on the weekend were amazing and was class again tonight. A big concern of mine is if we don't get promoted this season is wherever another club come after him because if he leaves it would be a massive set back
Salieri Posted 29 November 2011 Author Posted 29 November 2011 Good to see Kingy score, third since Sven left. He never looked comfortable under Sven and NP knows what he can do and I think he'll flourish. Looks a different player already and on the way back to showing the sort of form he did under NP first time around.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 All those saying that Dyer looked fitter etc. That's what happens when you string a few games in a row together. Hope the lad keeps it up
GUJJIFOX Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 at the interview with NP. Love it Up the foxes!
MPH Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 I cannot understand why bigger clubs have not been interested in him his saves on the weekend were amazing and was class again tonight. There's always Chris Weale...

A big concern of mine is if we don't get promoted this season is wherever another club come after him because if he leaves it would be a massive set back What Sven lacked in management/motivational skills he made up somewhat with his signings which in the main were pretty good. Schmeichel is the stand out one for me though, an absolute steal and like you say, if he carries on like this (and we don't go up) we'll find it very hard to hold on to him.
cc_star Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 If only Sven's dip had happened sooner, Pearson may have had enough games to make the top 2 Awesome win, damn good sounding performance & long may it continue. "Talent is nothing without organisation & motivation"
Corky Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Sven made some good signings for us, Schmeichel, Nugent and Peltier have all stood out, I like Konchesky so far.
Haydos Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Fantastic win. Hope all the people who "wrote promotion off if we get rid of Sven" are back on board and with us now. Top 6 duck broken and lets get as close as we can to the top 2 before Jan when Nige can bring some quality in. I remember a lot "too early's, I was one, but I don't recall many people saying that. Fair play too him though, he's had a great start and I might have to doff my cap at the decision come the end of the season, lets hope we can keep it up, glad to have him back
seenitall Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Sven's team played a corker, including the much maligned Danns
Salieri Posted 29 November 2011 Author Posted 29 November 2011 Sven's team played a corker, including the much maligned Danns Svens signings but Pearsons TEAM. Unfortunately for Sven, he could spot a player but didn't seem to know how to effectively assemble them as a unit.
cc_star Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Sven's team played a corker, including the much maligned Danns If only Sven was capable of getting a team to play... He struggled to pick one nevermind organise one Sven's signings were awesome for that first goal too, brilliant throughball from Dyer (who Sven wouldn't even pick for the bench) for King (who Sven nearly ruined) to score Still, he's gone now, there were a few positives, but many more now. Onwards & upwards
Captain... Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Sven's team played a corker, including the much maligned Danns I don't think any one has denied the quality Sven brought in, but it's good to now have a manager who can get the best out of them.
Filbert The Fox Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Great win tonight.Looked good on the stream i had.Could have been more with the chances we had in 2nd half. Also thought Beckford seemed more up for it & was unlucky with a couple of chances. We look more of a team now instead of individuals. I know its early day under NP but i feel more confident about the team now. Up the City
Fox96 Posted 29 November 2011 Posted 29 November 2011 Great to see Danns finally getting on the scoresheet, hope he starts on saturday now!
