LTID Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 The next six league games are: Peterborough (H), Doncaster (A), Ipswich (H), Portsmouth (H), Palace (A), Barnsley (H). If we don't pick up 13 points from them we can forget promotion.
acooling08 Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Agreed. If we are serious about promotion we need to win at least 4 of these.
Dan Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 It's crucial we pick up some good points, it's a great chance to get some points on the board build on it in January. I think you can be thankful that we've had these particular games before/during January and we'll have strengthened more when more of the tougher games like Southampton are played. Very good timing.
Libertine Dream Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 We should really be getting 14/15/16 points out of these next games. Definitely have to win the home games and probably win at Donny but Palace can go either way, would be delighted with a draw. We then have Southampton away, Boro at home, Brighton away, need a good run to give us a chance of picking up decent results in those 3. We should have strengthened by then though.
Yojoe36 Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Peterborough- WIN Doncaster - WIN Ipswich - DRAW Portsmouth - DRAW Palace - LOSE/WIN Barnsley - WIN Those are very rough predictions. Don't hold me to them
The Doctor Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Quite right - we're three points off the play-offs with still half a season to go, but if we lose another game this month we've got no hope. Chill the **** out, realise there's plenty of points still to play for and stop being so reactionary.

It's not about being reactionary, if we're not good enough to get points from these games then we've got no chance with the difficult ones to follow.
The Doctor Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Football does not work like that at all boyo. You can be crap against the lower teams but good against the higher teams - remember Liverpool a couple of years back? Comprehensively thrashed man Utd but failed to beat the likes of Wigan.

"Boyo" - don't be so patronising! Just because Liverpool did something a few years ago doesn't make it a universal truth. The point is you need to beat the rubbish teams, it's not rocket science, sonny.

You can be crap against the lower teams but good against the higher teams - remember Liverpool a couple of years back? Comprehensively thrashed man Utd but failed to beat the likes of Wigan. Plus this season they can beat Chelsea twice within 10 days but only draw at home vs Swansea and Norwich. Football's a funny old game.
Brooksy Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Peterborough - Draw Donny - Win Ipswich - Win Pompey - Win Palace - Lose (Another dubious sending off) Barnsley - Draw

The point is you need to beat the rubbish teams, it's not rocket science, sonny. Going in to matches believing you're playing a 'rubbish team' can lead to complacency. That's also not rocket science. We just have to take it one game at a time. Don't even need to think about fixtures towards the end of this month because the focus is then taken away from this coming weekend vs Peterborough. Full focus on Peterborough. Get the job done vs them. Then focus on beating Doncaster away - which will not be easy at all just because they are in the relegation zone. Once that game is done, then we move on to the next etc...
scinnell Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 What i have lernt with leicester, you can never predict them, lets take it one game as it comes!

Chill the **** out, realise there's plenty of points still to play for and stop being so reactionary. I think the last year of watching Leicester has taught us so many times that we can't just write-off games and leave them too late. No it's true we have plenty of games to play for but we need to break into the top six again and stay there, ASAP, we're playing catch-up yet again and we can't really afford to drop many points at all.

It's far far far too early to be conceding defeat like that. edit: oh and LTID - "Just because liverpool did something a few years ago doesn't make it a universal truth" - you've heard of examples right? It's a common occurrence in football and I selected one time at which it did happen.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Peterborough - Draw Donny - Win Ipswich - Win Pompey - Win Palace - Lose (Another dubious sending off) Barnsley - Draw haha mystic meg! and i'd take 12 points, would probably mean play offs:)
Fox92 Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 My predictions; Peterborough (H) - I rekon there will be goals in this game. It will open as Peterborough will attack. You know what they are like, they score and concede for fun. Win. Doncaster (A) - Draw. Ipswich (H) - They haven't won for about 8 games now, and even lost to Watford at home on Saturday. I can see them coming and attacking though. Win. Portsmouth (H) - Win. Palace (A) - Very tough place to go. Palace don't concede many goals. Draw. Barnsley (H) - Should be a win. 14 points, as predicted, would be good in my opinion.
Brown Fox Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 If Ipswich continue on their losing streak I can almost guarantee we will end it for them. They'll beat us. Just like every single other time a team is down and out for the count we give them a little rehabilitation.
Walshy5 Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 We have a very good run in here and good chance to go on a winning streak and build momentum. Toughest game out of that lot is probablly Palace away.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 One game at a time... Starting with Peterborough. We always play best at home against teams who are open. Expect King and Wellens, if selected, to both look completely different players to how they did at Hull. 3-1 City
MrFox781 Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Dont think about the next six games think about the next game win it, and then move on to the next and win it...
John Matrix Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 this is it boys. this is where we fight. this is where they fall.
dannythefox Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 I think people are forgetting donny have just beat Southampton and it wont be easy!
John Matrix Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 I think people are forgetting donny have just beat Southampton and it wont be easy! we beat southampton too so football math means leicester ≠ doncaster > southampthon
