stockyfox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Sky Sports News are reporting that this afternoon (4-15pm) Hull City rejected an undisclosed bid from the Foxes for winger Cameron Stewart who NP had signed from Man Utd. This follows on from yesterday when Donny officially rejected again an undisclosed bid from Leicester for Billy Sharp. It seems that there is a big gulf between who we would like as opposed to players who don't want to come or their clubs will not release them.
Kitchandro Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If I was Stewart I wouldn't want to come even if a bid was accepted. I know he played well against us but is he actually that good?
Donut Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I dont think they will be able to hold on to those players though, probably just holding out for more money
Donut Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If I was Stewart I wouldn't want to come even if a bid was accepted. I know he played well against us but is he actually that good? Depends on his motivations as a player i would say. No doubt he has a better chance of getting into the top flight at the first time of asking with Hull, but then again maybe he would come to us if the terms were better. Might want to hook up with Pearson again, although judging by the Hull fans talk, Warren Joyce is the main reason behind the Hull Man Utd connection, not Pearson
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Why wouldn't anyone want to come? we're massive aren't we?

If I was Stewart I wouldn't want to come even if a bid was accepted. I know he played well against us but is he actually that good? No one will want to come unless a footballer with common sence ( not many of them about ) and see the wider picture on what is trying to be acheived at the club His got to be better than TIN MAN beckford may be a cat walk would be better ?

A common sense move is staying with Hull, theyre building something sustainable and look a better bet of going up than us surely? Unless, as i say again, it comes down to the contract we can offer

Well it's more important that he's better than Dyer, and I'm pretty sure he is. I haven't seen a lot of him though so I'm not really sure how good he is. He's going to have to make a real impact and the pressure on his shoulders will be big. The wider picture is that we are in disarray and 7 points behind Hull who are in the Play-off spots. He's taking a real risk if he comes here.
Schlupp Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 This is gonna end up in some stupid fee and he'll turn into a flop.
Jace Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If I was a professional footballer I would stay well clear of us right now! we are jinxed
Donut Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 These things do tend to end in tears...... over inflated fee, therefore over inflated expectation, pressure, and a flop. Very rare (please put me wrong) that a PERMANENT january signing has had a big impact in my experience. Good use of the loan market is critical IMO
LCFC BEAST Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 This is gonna end up in some stupid fee and he'll turn into a flop. This.

Pretty sure he wants to come though, else why would we be making a 2nd bid... It's not as if our management trio wouldn't have spoken to him to find out, before wasting everyone's time I just think Hull will make it very difficult like they did with NP, wasting the whole of the international fortnight break
foxfanazer Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 If I was a professional footballer I would stay well clear of us right now! we are jinxed this, it seems like nobody becomes better for us than they were for their previous clubs. Don't know why it's like that but I can't think of anyone recently that has made a name for themselves at Leicester
BahsonGav Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 Well it appears that we are playing the cards on the table early game this transfer window. Get the bids in as soon as we can (realistic or not!) - knowingly going to be rejected (as the clubs concerned are in our division) - and hoping that the interest shown, turns the players heads and the agents then get to work in 'my client isn't happy and wants to talk to LCFC' etc.. We have 4 x weeks to see what's gonna happen - its all going to go to the wire with Sharp and Stewart (Donny & Hull are not going to sell them until the last possible moment) - they have NO wish to give us any early momentum! I fancy one of these deals WILL happen - Both exactly the kind of players we need, so fingers crossed!!
irDeano Posted 1 January 2012 Posted 1 January 2012 I know he played well against us but is he actually that good? 'If you'd seen him yesterday (26th Dec fixture), you wouldn't want Cameron Stewart. Needs to wise up to the extra attention he's starting to get' 'Cameron Stewart is an excellent player, savvy teams mark him out of the game' Quotes from my Hull supporting friend, sounds like a decent but still raw prospect. If our fans were willing to give him the chance to develop his game here (yeah right...) then I think Pearson could work wonders for the lad.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Can't see Hull being easy to deal with and to be honest I cant see him wanting to join us for anything other than money. He was born in Manchester too so I can probably see him wanting to stay in the north, he's only 20. Hoping we do sign him though and that Pearson / Shakespeare giving him his big break can influence his decision.

Hmmm, that's the thing though, we need players to make a difference now. We haven't got time for players to develop.
Soar Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 If I was a professional footballer I would stay well clear of us right now! we are jinxed Correct. A couple of bad games and he'll be accused of having a bad attitude, only coming for the money and calls for Lloyd Dyer to replace him.
Fox92 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I cannot see Hull wanting to sell him, especially to Leicester with all the connections; Pearson etc. However, they are in a bit of financial bother arn't they? So surely they might have to consider an offer if it was good enough. Obviously we don't know how much the bid actually is, but these reports are good as I am glad Pearson has seen that we need better quality out wide.
Mission Unlikely Promotion Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 If i was him i would come to Leicester, come on son you know it makes sense
MrFox781 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 He wont be coming here. and not suprised were 14th in the league. yes 14th.
