seenitall Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 I missed the fateful Millwall game that finished for Sven but witnessed the general lack of belief and systems that led to todays efforts. Were we worse in that game or todays? I think we have to ignore the first two home defeats as they were too early in the new teams career but Millwall was a turning point - was today?
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Both performances were shocking. Millwall was always going to be tough, purely because they hadn't won and were rock bottom, runs always come to end when playing us. But fair play they came and played us off the park. Today was just a shambles too, Barnsley once again did their homework just like they did at Oakwell but it's the manor we were beat today that's frustrated me most. Constant long balls, not looking one bit dangerous, one striker upfront at home it was just a joke.
ithuriel Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Today we could have knicked a draw, we never had a hope of that against Millwall.
wurmer Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 The Millwall game made me want I remove my eyeballs, today just made me want to sandpaper them...
cc_star Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Millwall we were abjectly dire, there was no desire whatsover Today we were abjectly dire, but everyone was full of effort & desire, they were undone by two defensive errors and just simply clueless & came up well short in trying to win Hardly the same tuning point though, one manager had been here a year & spent many, many millions, the other hasn't been here two months
Salieri Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Those ****ers had better be called in for training today. 7am sharp.
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Was worse today by a whisker. I feel less optimistic about the future today than i did after Millwall though.
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 It gets worse every time we play Yep, I agree .... that's why I'm less optimistic than after Millwall. I can't wait to see what we do against Florist .... literally anything could happen!!!
Yojoe36 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I can't wait to see what we do against Florist .... literally anything could happen!!! Well I'm unfortunately going on Tuesday, so I better see a performance. It fvcking dare go 0-0 into penalties
Dan Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Millwall. I mean for starters the score was far worse, these are a better side than Millwall too. Seeing also that the same side got absolutely dicked at home by Birmingham today, makes you feel even shitter. We're so fvcking bad I actually cannot stress it. Worst season I can remember bar 07/08.
Corky Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I didn't expect the Millwall performance, I half-expected yesterday's, so I'll go for Millwall. Just.
iamafox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Glad I didn't go to both of those games. Remember that we beat Watford before we lost to Millwall, and we beat Palace before we lost to Barnsley. And I expected us to win in which many of you would call 'easy games'.
Nickfosse Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Millwall, Barnsley, Leeds, Bristol City, Reading, even Ipswich and Peterborough. All variations on the same theme really that point to one simple truth; That despite the hype, investment, hope and expectation, there is nothing special about this group of players really.
Corky Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Throw Portsmouth and the second half against Watford into that list.
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I think we'll have a new one to throw into the mix on Tuesday!!!
Nickfosse Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Throw Portsmouth and the second half against Watford into that list. Agreed, just got fed up typing them in. Think we might get away with Tuesday as it's two poor teams together. My fear is next Monday, if we are defend like we did on Saturday I can see another Portsmouth away last season happening. I'm thinking of watching from behind my sofa
