Mack Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 As the realisation dawns on our owners this morning that this season will more than likely lead to mid table I cant help wondering / worrying how they will respond. Just how committed are they? Will they do something crazy like try and salvage this season with another knee jerk reaction? Will they decide that waiting another year is not in the plans and look to sell? Or will they show patience and loyalty and see this through? I think we may be about to discover our owners true intentions for us over the next couple of weeks. And I hope it's a positive experience.
Houdini Logic Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I have no idea how they'll react or what they'll do. All I can say is that I didn't see them at the game yesterday, so I can picture the scenario where they're back in Thailand, sitting around at night having a lovely drink with their fellow members of 'Asian Football Investments' watching the match live on a stream which they've paid for and set up in the country. I'm going to take a guess that they're not exactly over the moon!

Happy Fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 The people advising the Thais would give me more worry, the Birch, Wellens etc

Jagdinho Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Speaking to the stewards at the end of the game yesterday, they said Top hadn't been since before christmas. Why/how would the stewards know? Don;t they just stand there and check your ticket about 5 times till you get to your seat?
z-layrex Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Whatever they do there's no point worrying about it now, nothing we can do.
steveo444 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Whatever they do there's no point worrying about it now, nothing we can do. I knew this would end in tears. Mandaric skanked the thai's. They have been sold a crock of shit by a crook.
beryllind Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 It would a sad day if they did reduce their commitment, I don't know how we would ever recover. I wonder if they are asking themselves if it should have been another club to invest in.
m00nie Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 its bad enough people talk about wining the league/ getting relegated after ONE win or a loss but now we moving on to the owners and what they might do , sell, go ... ..
dave the caveman Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I made a thread about this yesterday and it got deleted, presumably because the forum cleaner gimp thought it was too unlikely to warrant a thread. It isn't too unlikely at all. The owners won't just keep pouring money into a black hole forever. If there continues to be no improvement then they will certainly pull out, its just a matter of when.
EnderbyFox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Our wage budget would probably put off potential buyers even if they were looking to sell
Wig_Wam_Bam Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 FFS you lot sort yourselves out, your all laughable.
Happy Fox Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 FFS you lot sort yourselves out, your all laughable. A very intellectual reply you must be so proud.
m00nie Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 A very intellectual reply you must be so proud. was blunt and straight to the point.. good reply imo..

It isn't too unlikely at all. The owners won't just keep pouring money into a black hole forever. If there continues to be no improvement then they will certainly pull out, its just a matter of when. The board does not encourage speculation about the owners motives, background or other business interests, does not want to upset them and so pretends that they are brilliant for spending their money on us. We should be grateful that anyone would spend their time and money on a pissy little club like Leicester and accept any decisions they make with good grace - to this end, posts questioning or challenging any of the above will be deleted. So, before it gets wiped, i am sure their motives in buying the club were financial rather than through any love of the sport/club, I think that in itself is OK but having no football brain on the board will lead to the kind of crass decisions that we have seen in their 18 months in charge. Putting an inexperienced (in football at least) 26 year old in charge of any multi million business is bound to lead to trouble and guess what - it has!

leicesterseddon Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I've said it before and I'll say it again. You have to doubt the sincerity of owners that claim to be interested in the club in the long-term, but seem desperate to get promoted this season...
seenitall Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 you going to keep crying about it all till the end of the season... do you actually manage to see the games though the tears??? Not really, I think we are all going to keep crying about it long after this season has ended - glad you are happy with them though

Isn't there a reason though as FFP regulations come into play next season?
jonlcfc1990 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 He has a point though it's like some people on here had these topics ready to fire out of here computer as soon as the whistle blew yesterday Pearson the players now the owners it's a sad state of affairs when "fans" are like this and it's the loudest I've heard he ground all season is when we boo them off.
seenitall Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 A sad state of affairs when we have a shit board and owners you mean or a sad state of affairs when the 'so called fans' moan about it? In the same way that the fans have the right to bitch when they are shown no commitment or passion after paying £27 to get in to the ground, the 'so called fans' on here have a right to express their distaste at the way the club is run - I hope the board are reading and if so hope they apologise for screwing up and show us all that they are committed, prepared to bring some knowledge into the club at board level and stop screwing up by making knee jerk decisions

My personal opinion is that they gave up realistic hope of being promoted this season when the decided to have Pearson back as he is a totaly different kind of manager who takes time but builds stability and consistancy. I think at that point they have changed their strategy to a more long term goal now expecting Nigel to build a team capable of a serious challenge next season, anything this season would now be a bonus. They are business men and they have changed their tactics to achieve what they want.
renards Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 We are a very expensive UK marketing tool for them, promotion of the King Power brand in the Far East through TV and media. This is also the case with Air Asia and Singa and such like. All surrounds the kudos of being either a big Championship club and on to a Premier club. I'm sure they would like their money back, having a lesson in football by an unfashionable Barnsley that was incidently broadcasted in Thailand I'm sure Top and Dad would have cringed watching it, I did. They have been ill advised to loose Sven who has property and a big noise in Thailand....Nigel who? Nice one Birch Bought a Formula one car without and engine. They have done their part of the deal We are very lucky to have them..enjoy whislt we can.
