Babylon Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Does NP really have the balls to get rid of the deadwood such as Wellens, Gallagher, Dyer, Howard etc duff footballers that will not get us promoted that is my only concern, if he doesn't get rid of them in the summer at the very latest, then I don't think he has a clue. If we are focussing on players that haven't done it this year then the whole squad except about 5 people is dead wood.

Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 SOME FACTS FROM THAILAND 1. Yes the owners are very very unhappy and worried about our position in the league - no surprise there 2. They feel a degree of embarrassment about our position mainly because the club is used as a marketing tool in Asia and the games are shown live - In Thailand and across Asia the Premiership is hugely popular. Using your own Premiership club as a marketing tool to make money makes sense. Interest from the Asian public in a Championship club is very very low and therefore dramtically reduces oppourtuinities to use the club as a marketing tool. Like most Thais the owners also feel a little embarrasment because they are very proud and don`t want to fail. 3. They have no plans to sell the club Have they given any indication in the press over their about giving NP time to sort this mess out?
cc_star Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Have they given any indication in the press over their about giving NP time to sort this mess out? Why would they, a transfer window + a pre-season of signings, coaching and good few games to see if it worked seems to be minimum
Webbo Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I'm a very patient person, but even I was losing patience with Sven towards the end. We looked clueless, there seemed to be no positive progress at all. That sums up my position. It seems to me that the pro Sven brigade are using this current bad spell to try and prove themselves right. Even if Pearson ultimately fails that doesn't prove that Sven would have succeeded.

Only players to play well are Kasper, Peltier (recent cause for concern), Moore, Konchesky, Kennedy & Nugent (recent cause for concern) Think your definition of deadwood is a bit narrow, perhaps to further your point?

Dead wood = fashionable to slag off scape goats.
Master Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I wish I could find that youtube clip of 'Thai Foxes' with all the war music and jazzy graphics of our shitty players running around.

Yeah that suffices we need a whole new midfield, so that is Four players to replace the current Four. The defense is alright. Attacking Wise Beckford would be third choice behind a new striker pairing with Nugent.
5waller5 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 That sums up my position. It seems to me that the pro Sven brigade are using this current bad spell to try and prove themselves right. Even if Pearson ultimately fails that doesn't prove that Sven would have succeeded. That's pretty much bound to happen isn't it?? I didn't want Sven to go ... loved having him here ... Equally I loved having NP as our manager first time around, but didn't want him to come back - thought the job wasn't suitable for him for a host of reasons. Don't want him or anyone else to fail as our manager, but can't see him turning it around for the same reasons i didn't want him to come back in the first place. Thinking the above it's hard to not be lumped into the "Sven Lover" "NP hater" categories .... neither are true ... but that's never going to stop people making sweeping generalisations. Whichever way you look at it ... it's a fascinating time, even if it is extremely frustrating!
Bangkok Mick Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Have they given any indication in the press over their about giving NP time to sort this mess out? I don`t know what `time` the owners will give to NP I suspect they will not change him this season. Other than the games there`s virtually no coverage about City in the written press or TV.
