Kitchandro Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Obviously on a completely unrelated note to anything regarding the current City team, what's the best Leicester display you've ever watched live? I do not have a worthy answer for this question if I'm honest, but I'd be interested to know older members choices in particular.
Guest MattP Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 The 5-2 V Sunderland always comes to mind when I think of this question. We could have beaten any side in the world that afternoon.
HEGGSY Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Arsenal 3-3 Leicester is surely an obvious one. We didn't win but the sheer amount of spirit and determination to get that result is something that today's players are sadly missing. The 5-2 V Sunderland always comes to mind when I think of this question. We could have beaten any side in the world that afternoon. This also. Collymore and Heskey
FuriousFox46 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 That first half at Derby last season was the best I've seen Leicester play for many years.
HEGGSY Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Leicester 4-0 Leeds. September 2003. NAAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIISSSSSS! What a goal
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 The 4-3 defeat at Chelsea in the League Cup stands out to me. Caretaker managers in charge of an awful, awful team on paper against a side that cost tens of millions and we really could have won. Can't remember many other times we performed so well against a team so much better than us in the past 20 years (winning 3-2 against Spurs in the FA Cup also ticks that box).
StanSP Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 NAAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIISSSSSS! What a goal Indeed. Dickov's 2 goals weren't too bad either!
Guest Bilo Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 That 5-2 win over Sunderland was pure pornography. Had we kept that squad together and MON not left the following summer, I seriously think we could have become a top six side the way we were going and that win was the zenith. Absolutely irresistible. First half of the 3-2 win against West Brom at The Hawthorns in 1995 was incredible too, playing like Arsenal before anyone in England had even heard of Arsene Wenger. 4-0 at Derby away in 1998 was good too, you don't get much better than watching the home fans trudge off disconsolately 15 minutes in. The 3-3 draw against Arsenal was superb for entertainment and sheer bloody-mindedness against a side that would have beaten pretty much anyone the way they performed that evening.
eaststandtom Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 first half away at west brom in 95. unstoppable

Brilliant game that, Scott Taylor scores with his head, a genuine superstar had arrived in Kaamark and watching Spider Kalacs debut was priceless.
wellyfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Shrewsbury in the FA cup 5-2 2 nil down at half time. 3 keepers Wallington Young twice and Stevie lynex N my mate said at H/T don't worry we will Score 5 and we all fell about laughing. We showed everything that is missing today. And yes I was at the Oxford game Orient when we went up. All the play offs and the three league cups. But for a normal run of the mill game this was the best ever. OH n Filbo fvckin ROCKED
Narborough_fox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Not really seen many brilliant performances but the 2 Man City performances last year were brave. We may not of played the best football but to keep a team which had spent so many millions to a 2-2 draw and the lose narrowly away really made me proud to be a Leicester fan.
lestajigs Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 First half against wolves 2003, nobody would guess how that one would of ended!! Mancity away same year, sure that was 0.4, great day
FrankieADZ Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 one that always stand out for me was when we won 4-0 away at Derby, 4 goals inside 15mins...all headers I loved it...even tho i remember getting soaked before the match aswell
MattGamble92 Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Leicester 0-0 Crystal Palace F.A Cup 3rd Round
eaststandtom Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Brilliant game that, Scott Taylor scores with his head, a genuine superstar had arrived in Kaamark and watching Spider Kalacs debut was priceless. wasnt my favourite game as a whole but that 45 minutes took some beating regarding how good they played. naturally played like knob heads in the 2nd half
1964FOX Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I can remember us doing Carlisle 6-0 in the early eighties, one of the first games I ever worked at, always nice to get paid to see us play well.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 That first half at Derby last season was the best I've seen Leicester play for many years. This for me
Jace Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Best performance I can remember seeing was Leicester Man Utd at Filbert St in 1997, they had Cantona, Beckham, Schmeichel and we tore them apart 1st half and went 2-0 quite early on. Think OGS scored twice later and they got a point out of the game but Leicester were just as good if not better that day
wellyfox Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 I can remember us doing Carlisle 6-0 in the early eighties, one of the first games I ever worked at, always nice to get paid to see us play well. I went home and away then and had been so bad. Me and a m8 went on the piss all day could not be arsed. Must have been 4 yrs after that game till I missed another

isaidno Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Going for something different here. The 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the league cup about 4 years ago. Stearman and Wesolowski in the middle of the park, think Weso was a doubt before the game aswell. Skills Johansen imense at left back, Henderson brilliant in goal. Remember being so proud of the team that night.
