Greatest Leicester performance you've seen?

For me it comes in the most awful season for us, when we got relegated to league 1 we beat Norwich at home 4-0. That day for me personally was amazing, sitting in a box for the first time with a load of Norwich fans. How the tide has turned!!

5-0 cambridge was immense with what was at stake, considering they was a stong team then, we brushed them aside with an atmosphere that ill never forget from the city fans,

i was in the double decker  and at was like being in the kop! pure emotion. after the game the whole cambridge team stopped off at my local at the time the uppingham, and watched the highlights on the tv the only player who didnt get off the coach was claridge who was doing his bets for the next day.

What a night that was. Was in the Filbert Street end. Tommy Wright, Steve Thompson, Ian Ormondtroyd, Tommy Wright and Kevin Russell if I remember rightly (in that order).

Atmosphere wise, City vs' Derby 3-3 when Iwan Roberts scored a hat trick, some peeps actually feinted and the StJohns ambulance men stretchered them out.

The play off home game against Tranmere that ended with the players having a scuffle towards the end and Tranmeres keeper seeing red.

I agree with a few on this, WBA when pontus was about, amazing even if only for 45mins, Derby 4-0 was a great game even if I was playing so had to watch it on record after. The sunderland game was quality, i'd love to have the chance to know what that team could have go on to achieve.

I'd also go for Swindon at wembley 2nd half obviously and agree with the above poster, I know it was L1 but cheltenham away, was how football should be played ( take notes pearson)

But one i'd like to chuck in is Palace at Wembley go back and watch that game on DVD and just look at the stats, the amount of passes and time in possesion was quality, Barca esq before Barca.

For me, the best '45 minutes' performance by a Leicester City side was way back in October 13th 1962. Up against a star-studded Liverpool team, we completely outplayed them. It seemed every pass was inch perfect. The whole team clicked as a single unit and at half-time, we were winning 3-0 thanks to superlative goals from Davie Gibson, Albert Cheeseborough and Graham Cross. The second half? No more goals and a bit like after the Lord Mayor's show.

The most nail-biting was the 1-0 defeat of again Liverpool in the 1963 FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough.

A thriller was again 1963 when we beat Man Utd 4-3 at Filbo. Ken Keyworth scoring a hat-tick in six minutes and Denis Law scoring probably the greatest goal ever seen anywhere with his miraculous overhead bicycle kick on the way to his hat-trick.

One of the most wonderful performances was the 6-0 thrashing of another star-studded Man Utd side in 1960/61 season.

I could go on............. The 3-0 victory this season at Burnley nust also rank as one of Leicester's outstanding performances!

Leicester 5-0 Cambridge

Leicester 3-2 Derby... sometime under Little. 2 goals from Gee & winner from Thompson I think

Leicester 3 - 4 Swindon Those 12mins at Wembley Vs Swindon

Sheff Utd 1 - 3 Leicester. Oct '95 Under McGee, we were awesome that day

That Sunderland game, like mentioned above, would love to seen that team stay together. Although we went on to do better than OK, if we hadn't have sold Heskey & instead added to that team I really wonder what we could have achieved

Athetico Madrid... wow

More recently the first half of the 2-0 win at Derby last season, we were awesome, in part assisted by a Derby team who didn't tackle or even press us, but showed what we could do if teams let us, unfortunately following that game, or more precisely from half-time in that game every team pressed us & tackled us & we never hit those heights again.

Some great shouts... The Iwan Roberts v Derby show

The Villa Comeback

The Swindon play off comeback

Sunderland heskey/Collymore...what could have been eh??/

Spurs last game at Filbo

Arsenal FA Cup tie too at Filbo was immense!

The 6-0 mauling of the Sheepy brothers up the road in 1909/10 by the Fosse has to be up there.

How about the 13-0 annihilation of Notts Olympic in 1894-95?

All the usual ones. But one that sticks in my memory was v Swindon at Filbo under pleat,so must have been mid to late eighties.we were 3 down at half time but got a 3.3 draw out of it in the end.....anyone else remember that?

End of the 70's start of the 80's don't know what year.

Boxing day or new yrs day away at Anfield.

City win 2-1 and youngy bullets a header in for them.

We was the first team to beat em at home in 3 seasons. (all compertitions)

City players came over to us at the end to celerbrate.

And the kop remained full.

As our players turned to the tunnel The Kop sang you'll never walk alone to them in respect.

And that was respect Nearly brings a tear thinking about it :scarf:lol:scarf:

1. Dec 2000 ... LCFC 3 Leeds 1 ... we were 3 up after 30 mins ... Akinbiyi got one that day!

2. Oct/Nov 1999 (I think) ..Spurs 2 LCFC 3 .... Izzet got 2 and Tagget scored the winner with about 10 minutes left .. you're not singing anymore!

Honourable mention knocking the arse out the FA cup 6-5 on penalties 19th Jan 2000

Both in 70s, greatest performance for me was 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal 1976, Weller, Worthington, Whitworth, Rofe, Wallington etc all at their peak. Most impressive performance that I've seen, again in the 70s was 1-0 win at Anfield, ending Liverpools 5 year unbeaten home record. That was extra special for me, and it mattered not that we were relegated that season!!
