Andre Villas-Boas wants a Chelsea B team in the Championship

Even Daivd Moyes wanted to have an Everton "B" in the conference because the standard of the reserve league is so poor

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed his attempts to get a Toffees 'B' team into the Conference were scuppered by red tape. "Four or five years ago I would have liked to have put an Everton reserve team into the Conference because it would have been better football for them," he said. "But we would have had to have gone into Division Nine of the North-West Outer Counties or whatever you want to call it and it would have taken 10 or 11 years to get through. I would have been happy just to be in the Conference - no promotion, not involved in cups or anything."

Sounds like these managers just feel there is a lack of competitive edge in the Youth/Reserve games which might be true but that is why there is a loan system.

Anyway what are the chances they fill these "B" sides with more overseas players and actually it wouldn't have any positive impact on the national team...

Part of their justification ofr creating the PL was that it would improve the standard and success of the National team, can't say I've noticed any difference in fact there's very little flare or class in the England team these days.

No the B team cannot achieve promotion to the top division, if the A team did get relegated the B team would also get relegated irrespective of their league position.

Alright, so the B team won the Championship, but get relegated? They would then demolish the majority of League 1 teams.

Actually I could see that working, stuck in the conference with no involvement in the cup, it would give conference fans a chance to see up and coming starlets as well.

The problem would be if all the big teams did this the conference would eventually turn into the existing reserves league.

They would get hammered. Underestimating the quality in the championship, you can tell he doesn't no english football. If he's that concerned about it, surely his youth team would do better than some of his players (david luiz, romeu)

What about conference teams? Is it OK to fvck with their league?

Could potentially bring more fans to conference football though. Maybe you'd see some fans going to watch the 'b' team because they can't afford watch the first team, FC United style.

Saying that though, I don't think it would be fair on teams already playing in conference and would make a mockery of the league when more teams started doing it. Will never happen.

Ah, so they can't get promoted. But they'll be better than the rest every year, taking up a promotion place for a team that is allowed to go up.

Seriously, what would be the point?

I think the next best team went up so they are not obstructing anyone else's progression.

What we all need to remember is that as the top teams suck up more of the National revenue pool of football generated income then more smaller clubs will go bust.

This will leave vacancies in the lower leagues for Reserve teams of the bigger clubs to populate.

It's bound to happen.

I thought that the currant laws of English football didn't allow one party or person to own more than one club?

Anyway, who's to say that some clubs haven't already hooked their talons into lower league clubs, but just brand them as MK Dons for example.

Why hasn't he suggested that the loan system should be expanded, and send more youths out on loan to your Swindons, Lutons & Darlingtons.

I like AVB, and his management 'style', but this is an incredibly narrow minded and arrogant statement to come out with.

I think the current loan system is partly responsible for this situation as it allows the big clubs to suck in from their home town club all the countries best talents knowing that they can loan them out again.

I'd also suggest that a very high proportion of them never play for these top clubs and end up back where they started,

A better solution would be to nurture/support FL clubs and allow them to develop the younger players in a competitive environment and then pay the clubs a decent transfer fee when they're ready to move up to the next level.

If thi was ever allowed to happen. Id turn my back on the sport for good. As if we could get hyped for Leicester vs Chelsea b.

It's just so disrespectful to supporters of lower league clubs to come out with this shit. What a ****
