I've been fortunate enough to meet quite a few famous people the past few years. Working in various restaurants around New Haven CT I have met a lot of people usually in town because of something to do with Yale University.

Most famous person I've probably met is George Lucas, he was in town filming for the last Indiana Jones movie (made him a cheeseburger lol ), the following day I met Shia LeBeouf for the same reason and let me say the kid is a complete dick, we actually had to call the cops to get him to leave because he and his 'posse' wanted too stay after closing time and keep drinking. He even pulled out the "Don't you know who I am?" line. Such a douche!

I've met a few Tennis players as the week before the US Open there is a warm up tournament in New Haven, met people like Jennifer Capriati, James Blake, Mardy Fish and a few others. Greg Rusedski played the tourney a few times but he never came into eat, was very disappointed about that :P

Met Denzel Washington who was in town because his kid was going to Yale.

Norm from Cheers, he came in about 3 nights in a row just for our meatloaf.

Frank Vincent, the actor who was in The Sopranos, Casino, Goodfellas and a bunch of other mob based movies was in town to give a speech to a bunch of Yale drama students, made him a grilled cheese. lol

This probably wont mean much to most of you but I've met a bunch of the ESPN Sportscentre hosts and analysts as the studio is just a couple of towns away.

Oh and the King of Qatar lol he liked my food so much he came 3 more times in the 4 days he was in town. He was another one in town for his kid going too Yale. So I can say I've literally cooked for Royalty.

Oh an I once met Paul Gascoigne years ago in a Motorway service station on the M1 on the way home from an England game.

Martin Johnson, told me i needed to change my accent or change my shirt. <_< (i was wearing an England top)

Haha i met him and all the other Tigers players after a Leicester game not long after the '03 WC. I was wearing a Wallabies shirt to their after match function (it was the only reason i was allowed in as a guest of the Deacon boys as xmas present, i had to wear a wallabies shirt). MJ was awesome asking me all these questions and asking me if i had gone to certain places he had visited during the WC. Also was more than happy to have photos with me and make all the players sign my wallabies guersey. I now have about 12 Tigers signatures on a Wallabies guersey lol There was only one bloke who refused to sign the shirt intially but Martin spoke to him and he signed it.

I met Bono and The Edge from U2 before they played on top of the BBC studios. I asked Bono to shake my hand but he wouldn't. I suppose i could of been some sort of weirdo who super glued my hand or something.

Was very close to meeting them at there studios in dublin, went over for a night out and wondered over to the studio, apparently i missed them by 5 minutes coming out to say hello to fans.

Also met Warwick Davis but he wasn't a very nice man.

Served Jim Bowen a pint in a local social club years ago, he gave me the money and i said 'Lovely, Great, Smashing'. He wasn't impressed.

Should of shown him what he could of won.

The Queen. The words spoken by her to me were "hello, are you ok?" I said yes maam and she said "thats good". I was about 8. More poker related people really. I bluffed Gus Hansen and shown him it to which he replied "nice, i guess if you make it further i'll be buying you dinner." Had a good bit of banter with him and a real good two days.

Also met a lot of footballers through being a sports photographer for a while. All good fun. The best of all though has to be the short reign Gazza had at Kettering Town, the stories he has are unbelievable! Real good bloke underneath all the shit!

I read that as 'severed' -which made me really happy until I read it again. I've not met Jim Bowen but he once came to Leeds Uni SU when I was there to do his Bullseye thing and he was a right twat - slagging everyone he spoke to etc. He was pelted with pints and everything.

He used to frequent Dominick's Restaurant in Rancho Mirage near to where we lived, one Monday night in 1989 or 90, he was in the back watching baseball game. When the game was over, he walked towards the bar near our table. At the time, Dominick was talking to us and as Frank approached he said "Hey Francis come over here I want you to meet some English friends of mine". We chatted for a few minutes after which, we finished our meal and he went and stood at the bar. Sometime later, I needed the mens room and as I am taking care of business, in walks Frank.

So not only did I meet him but we hung out together. :)

Wow that is pretty special!

Meeting and speaking to Sinatra pretty much blows the rest of us out of the water in this thread. Huge respect on that one.

I've met a fair few in football, sport generally, telly actors and people in the music biz etc.

But I swear a bit of wee came out when I got to know Judge Jules well enough that he gave me his mobile number and - he always replies to texts. Big football fan too.
