Kitchandro Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Just hope they don't over sell it again, that was terrifying. I hope they do, it might be my last ever chance to experience a terrifying terraced away end! (As long as no one actually gets hurt, of course)
jonlcfc1990 Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Really excited for the rest of the season so what if its no play offs lets just support the team 100% where ever they go we follow! COYB
EnderbyFox Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 Shame this didn't start at the Forest game, 8000 singing it would've sounded incredible
broughtonblue Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 But there always was generic chants, in fact what made them specifically associated with a club was the club that sang it the most and continued to sing it after everyone else stopped as what happened with YNWA. The "you're shit" stuff we sing when a goalkeeper takes a goal kick was once sung by virtually every club in the FL now we're the only ones doing it, certainly in the championship. You're right about the sanitisation of football and I don't disagree but you need to direct your anger for that towards the authorities and the clubs where that has been forced on fans, but our fans singing this song is not sanitisation it's spontaneous adoption by our fans, no one's forcing them to sing it or to comply with some universal dictate. I frankly do not see any difference to our fans singing this than to so many that songs we've adopted since I've been going which is since the early sixties, sure we've had some original stuff but this song doesn't in itself stop that happening in the future in fact as I've said previously it may get the fans back into enjoying singing and encourage them to join in new and old songs in the future. Pretty sure Brighton did the 'your shit' thing at their place a couple of weeks ago!

lcfcadam Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 For the sake of our sanity, can people please stop replying to stu's posts on this thread?! And Stu - you go on and maintain your point of view, don't join in with the song, and be happy when / if it dies out. In the meantime, can you just leave the rest of us to enjoy singing / hearing it? After all the world doesn't revolve around one person (in this case, you), and it won't be stopped on your behalf alone. Congratulations on maintaining your ''dignity'' and ''self-respect'', and sorry the rest of us couldn't quite aspire to your levels...

Nick Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 *watches thread waver between cynical satiricism and men attempting to not fall out about whether they like singing a song or not* Stu likes more manly songs, it helps him identify with the world. Adam I doubt particularly cares but likes the fact at least sustained singing is actually taking place. I have to go now, my girlfriend is threatening to throw away the expensive bunch of pink roses I had delivered to her work, because I told her that I did not have them delivered to her work and that somebody else must love her. It really is all quite arbitrary when you think about it.

Larry_LCFC Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 I don't think any bloke who sings in chorus with other blokes can claim to be manly! Stu, mate, give it a rest. We all get the message you dont like the chant. Fortunately for all of us who do like it, your opinion wont stop it. You have lost, the chant stays!
