stockyfox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 i have sent the following e-mail to the Chief Constable of Norwich Police, based on my earlier posting to this thhread: For the attention of The Chief Constable Norwich Constabulary Dear Sir I am a lifelong supporter of Leicester City, for over 62 years and I write with some concern in view of the forthcoming FA Cup tie between Norwich and Leicester. It has come to the attention of Leicester fans that a comment has been made, allegedly by the Norwich Constabulary, stating that Leicester fans are ‘high-risk’. If that is correct, I, together with many Foxes fans, feel that that is most regrettable. Indeed, it has angered some fans and I have to say that, in my opinion, I feel that comments such as that are unhelpful and could be regarded as provocative rather than salutary. I am aware of the incidents you had to deal with in 2008 but that was four years ago and I would be surprised, indeed shocked, if there was even remotely anything like that again. I live in Stockport and much as I would love to be at Carrow Road for the match, I will be obliged to listen to the commentary on Radio Leicester. However, I go to most of the all-too-few away games we get in the North West and West Yorkshire. My opinion of Leicester City’s ‘away’ support is this: There is always a big following of fans, irrespective of day, night or location limited only by the allocation of tickets from the home Club. Foxes fans are very vocal and noisy and make their presence heard Foxes fans are very loyal, knowledgeable, appreciative and very fair. Foxes fans will enjoy a friendly banter with the ‘home’ crowd if appropriate like ‘It’s all gone quiet over there!’ etc. Foxes fans will loudly boo any player or official who is so deserving of such treatment because of reckless tackles, poor decisions etc. Foxes fans are great company and bear no malice towards anyone whoever they support. Foxes fans are NOT trouble makers and although there will very occasionally be an individual or two who goes too far, to imply that all Foxes fans are ‘high-risk’ is tantamount to being a gross insult. As one Foxes fan wrote on one of the messageboards; ‘We’re loud, we’re obnoxious and we go in big numbers but hooligans the vast majority of us aren’t’. In the previous round, away to Nottingham Forest, Leicester were supported by 8000 travelling fans with little or no trouble. Yet Foxes fans regard Forest fans as their most ‘hated’ rivals with no love lost between them. How strange it was then, on learning of the recent tragic death of the Forest chairman, so many Foxes fans called into Radio Leicester’s Football Forum, offering their condolences putting any rivalry aside. May I suggest that if you were to contact your counterparts in Greater Manchester, Burnley, Blackpool, Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and round the country and request a copy of their debriefings following a Foxes ‘invasion’, you would be pleasantly surprised! Leicester fans don’t seek trouble, they simply want to enjoy the game, the day and the atmosphere. I am sure Foxes fans would be most grateful to hear your views on this matter. Thanking you for your time Yours respectfully
Iwan Roberts tooth fairy Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Well according to Norfolk police we are "high-risk" away fans. I'd like to know where this has come from... nor folking way!
1964FOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 i have sent the following e-mail to the Chief Constable of Norwich I have also made a complaint via their professional standards department stating very much the same as yourself, I would imagine we will get a similar reply.
Corky Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Among out of touch club chairmen and boards we're pwopa nawtee! Bernie's da leada of dis gang.
Weller in Tights Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I got this reply from NCFC which admonishes them of all blame and directs the blame to the police. Your email to David McNally has been passed to me as David is away currently and I am responding on his behalf. I can understand you and your sons disappointment at not being able to get tickets for the FA cup tie. However to suggest Norwich City used safety as a “smokescreen” is incorrect . The decision to limit the number of Leicester supporters to 2,400 was made by the Safety Advisory Group a statutory body chaired by Norfolk County Council under advice from the Norfolk Constabulary. Both of these bodies are government bodies and as such totally independent of Norwich City Football Club. A statement to that effect is on the Norfolk County Councils web site. I hope that my response clarifies the position. Kind regards Chris Bailey Head of Stadium Operations and Supporter Services
Weller in Tights Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Me and my son are season ticket holders. Only category three as we only get to 6 or 7 away games a season. Tried to get tickets this morning, sold ou. Hence the e-mail above. Spending the day trying to get some answers
Weller in Tights Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Just spoke to someone in the Norfolk Constabulary. They were "very interested" to here what Norwich City said and asked me to forward the e-mail I got fro NCFC. Without him actually saying it, I got the impression (please no one sue me), that he thought Norwich City were talking out their backsides. Sympathetic, but couldnt do anything for me.
Ross-Kemp Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 High risk fans ? Be careful what you wish for Norwich
AyewJoking Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Round up some luminous orange t-shirts with "HIGH RISK" on them.
dobbylcfc Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Bollocks to them lets let all there tractor tyres down the inbred ******.
Narborough_fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 If they class us as "High-risk" fans we should behave as "high-risk" fans, go smash up Carrow Road... Either that or behave really well.

Interesting, indeed. It would also be interesting to see the minutes of this Safety Advisory Group. It has already been stated that the police and the club made submissions - so what were they? Who (if anyone) argued for a full away allocation and who argued against - and on precisely what "crowd safety" grounds. Nobody, be it NCFC, LCFC, the FA or the police, wants to give clear info about this - they all want to cover it up! My guess (and it is only a guess) is that it suited both NCFC and the police to reduce the allocation. No doubt, Norwich feel that they have a good chance of selling out to home fans as it's the 5th Round - I bet they wouldn't have been so keen to lose the cash at the turnstiles for "crowd safety" reasons if it had been a visit from Swindon or someone in the 3rd Round!
thybluefox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 This is the same independent safety board that is attended by representitives from NCFC? It's all bullshit.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 10 February 2012 Author Posted 10 February 2012 Just ordered my 'High Risk' T-Shirt... Norwich beware!
acooling08 Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 We should just be spiteful now and smash up their shitty ground
Voll Blau Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 As much as I'm completely ****ed off about this situation, could we please leave Carrow Road out of this? It's a decent, proper ground and they're one of the few decent home sets going at the moment.

1964FOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 And here's my reply from the FA following my complaint. Dear Gary Thank you for contacting The Football Association. The FA has been advised by both the Norfolk Police and the local Safety Advisory Group and it has been agreed to allow Norwich City to offer less than the required 15% away allocation. Kind regards Alex Burkwood | Customer Relations Officer Customer Relations The FA Group Wembley Stadium, Wembley, London, HA9 0WS
Dylan Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 **** it, pitch invasion if we win... We're fvcking high risk and unpredictable!

Nice to see that preposterously titled man is taking the views of his "customers" seriously. I swear if football as an institution was any other industry in the world, it would have gone bust by now.

1964FOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 And here's a transcript of the conversation between the SAG chairman and the FA. Chairman "Hello FA" FA " Hello Norwich SAG chairman" Chairman "we ain't letting those high risk ****ers from Leicester have all their tickets" FA"ok" Ok I'm making this up but I bet it's not far from the truth.
Guest nathan. Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Likely bullshit but someone on there forum says it could be moved to sunday.
