Leicesterpool Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 The start of the 2010-11 season was ruined thanks to Paulo Sousa, by the time Sven turned up the damage was done. Anyway looking to the Norwich game ahead sounded like to me in that Interview Pearson is going to name a weak side against Norwich I've already seen Norwich this season at Villa, they play very fast attacking football, they've got a never say die attitude.

marbelladave Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 I've not been going to many games recently because, as I have said in several threads, I think there is something fundamentally wrong at the heart of our club. I have mused about what I think the problem might be and been roundly shouted down but if it is not some sort of divide in the dressing room as I postulated then it is clearly something else that is amiss. I'm not even sure how to describe what I am seeing, it isn't really lack of effort or lack of spirit either, it is simply the inability of the team to knuckle down and get the job done. Call it mental strength or backbone or lack of determination but whatever it is it appears that we do not have it........ Some people have suggested that we simply are not good enough, I dispute that, We have on occasions played some decent football against some of the better sides in the division yet let ourselves get turned over by the likes of Barnsley and Watford. Explain it if you will........

Personally, I think it started with the farcical sacking of Eriksson and we've only been looking back ever since. Here's to at least two more years of high expectations, followed by multiple disillusions along the way. Leicester City FC. Never making it easy since 1884.

Part of my suggested explanation for our inconsistencies was that there are a few players who consider themselves to be rather better than they really are and consider themseves to be somehow 'above' the rest. The rumours of splits and conflict in the dressing room are plentyful, but they are only rumours. I can only really go on what I see on the pitch, and that isn't good.......

Explain it if you will........ Almost every team in this league could say that. The teams that are consistent and are in the top 6 are so because they have a better team than us. The saddest thing is most of them have better individuals as well.

Dont give the reasons of spending loads and plans of success as an excuse of raising your hopes. Money to man, we've spent **** all and half the clubs in the league start the season planning a promotion push and half a relegation battle. We fall in the promotion push half but only 6 clubs a season can have that realised and we are just not going to be one of them. In hindsight, we should have realised this after losing at home to Reading and then Bristol. The next 6 games will probably bring a couple of wins, a draw and the rest defeats, but dont take it on yourself to call the String and call for the managers head or a player to be dropped etc. The only way to improve is to be positive and stick together. Any more vast change really wont help.

Not looking to argue as I am quite a long way past giving a fook, and anyway I find that your opinions are usually realistic even if I do not often share them. All in all we play some decent football both as individuals and as a team but there is a flaw at our very center that means we simply do not get the job done......

First half we looked good... even though we went 1 - nil down the team and the supporters spirit was high... 2 Nugent Goals (both quality) gave us the boost we needed. Their second goal was harsh on us with their free kick taking a pretty wicked deflection it seemed from where I stood... I felt it all wne twrong in the second half.. we look a total different team from the off... No Drinkwater really seemed to make that difference... (did he have an injury)? what was the reason for the half time changes? Very disappointing at the end of the day... especially as we looed to be crusing after our second goal... but.. that's football.. and that's certainly Leicester City...!!! Keep the Faith!

I'd consider that when he put the kids in against Palace it was smack on the wrist for those under performing and that if these kids can do it again this week he's gonna tell the others they've got till the end of the season to prove themselves otherwise they're gone because quite clearly the youth have no problems in trying every week.

Not feeling as disappointed and alike tho as I've seen us go thru worse form and results. So chin up
