I dont say this as a proposal... just a topic thats indefensible... but you have to try to make a supportive argument for it. You can also choose any other "defend the indefensible" topic, if you like, but please add a reasoned argument in support of your statement. See below for example

Statement: We should stop giving money to African aid charities such as Oxfam because it only serves to prevent deaths.

Reason: The result of this is that famine and water shortages will get worse because there will be an increase in the population if we continue to provide relief and cure disease...

I quite agree, what were we thinking appointing a non-wizard in the first place. He must be the worst un-mystical manager in all the leagues. If he doesnt posses the ethereal super-powers of a non-human mythical being we shouldn't be wasting our money on him. He is too human for us. We should have stuck with the Swedish troll.

most of them drive big cars and live in Spain in the winter

97% of them ( so i'm reliably told by my mate in the pub) don't need this extra dosh and they should give it to young single parents !!

Quite right too. What is it about old people that they need money to live on. If they fought in the war then they should have plenty of survival skills to enable them to live off berries and insects whilst drinking their own (infected) piss. And as for using buses, where the hell is it that they need to go?. They must already own everything they'll ever need for the rest of their lives.

My old grandmother was very resourceful, she didn't need free buses

When she wanted to go shopping at Morrison’s , she used to pretend to fall over and break her leg , call an ambulance to take her to the Royal , and after a few minutes , hop off the gurney and tell them it’s ok and she’ll just try walking around .

She’d then pop over the road and do her shopping and go the bingo and get back in time for the free taxi ambulances taking the genuine patients home

Yep, Because that means those of us who live in houses (glass or otherwise) AND have a pot to piss in, would feel more comfortable moving around freely without these scrounging smelly no-hopers getting under our feet. We would save money on not printing the Big Issue or not giving money to charity and therefore would suffer less as WE would have more.

Yes exactly that sort of thing. Of course he was misunderstood. He didn't know he was black until he got his first mirror and that traumatised him to such an extent that he became developomentally delayed at age 7, believing he WAS Peter Pan. Just as well he'd never heard of Oberon, King of the Fairies.

He couldn't recognise the supposition of many that he had Peadohiliac tendencies as he considered himself to be a child and therefore it was ok to "explore" with other children. A poor sad person who liked having children in his bed...

Quite reasonable that the money robbed from the pensioners should go to the football playing elite. After all, pensioners have their food heated elswhere before being delivered cold to their door. How convenient that they dont have to use their free bus passes to get to Nando's in the first place when they could just stick the food in a bowl of hot water to get it up to tempertaure. Footballers have to pay the ever increasing cost of fuel for their trips to town and the suburbs of Manchester (and let's face it, BMW X5's and Range Rover sports aren't cheap to run. Think of the cost of blacking out the windows). It would be unfair to expect them to find the extra VAT for a hot meal as well.

At last, a thread of like-minded people! I've been searching for this ever since I joined FT. The rest of it is full of weak-minded nancy boys that get upset if you argue with them. A page and a half of thread so far, and not one arguement, just good commonsense ideas. Anybody up for clearing the Isle of Man and putting all the convicts there? We could let them forage for their own food. Although as wife works for the Prison Service, she would be out of a job. Oh well, she could join the unemployed and sweep the streets, clean graffiti off walls and mend potholes.
