I suspect they'll say come in and talk about it as we're always interested in improving the atmosphere, then they'll agree a way forward with you and you'll spend loads of money buying a fire certificated flag bring it to a few games and then you'll turn up after a few games and be refused entry because it's...

The wrong colour or shape

The wrong fire certificate

New rules insist it must be biodegradable

Too big and stopping a couple of fans from seeing the players warm up (this following 1 email complaint)

Offensive to away fans because it's bigger, better than theirs

Mr Barclay doesn't like the design

You didn't buy it from Thailand or the Club shop

It's club policy to renege on agreements made with fans after a few games.

Has anyone ever spoke to the club about a massive flag that we can pass around L1 to J1 or around the KOP? Like Chelsea did when we played them in the end opposite.

Just wondering, cheers.

Be great to see the flag appear again like the old 'we're in it together' flag maybe a ' #ibelieve ' flag or Leicester Till I Die one:) be great to see get it going lads!! :scarf:

Dear ...,

Thank you for your email. The Club do not allow flags with poles into the Stadium as there is a health and safety issues with these. The club have, in the past, had a big flag which was passed over the heads of supporters but I have to admit it wasn't to everyone's liking and there are logistical problems with a big flag too, for example, if the stadium isn't full and there are not many supporters in the corners the flag would come to halt. There is also the issue of getting the flag in to the crowd safely and then out again in time for the match starting.

The idea is a very good one but as you can see nothing is ever straight forward but I will pass your comments on to the relevant department and thank you for taking the time to contact the club on this matter.

Kind Regards

Jim

Anyone see the Schalke v Atlhetic Bilbao game last night? First off, great football, both teams went for it. But, hear the crowd? Fantastic noise all the way through. All standing as well, and no-one died. And the flags, absolutely amazing, would love to see the KP like that - but no doubt some moaning prawn sandwich eating biddy would moan cos he/she couldnt see properly. Not harking back to the good old days at Filbo, but......... why the flip can't English grounds have atmospheres like the Jerries (other European countries are available, no racist stereotyping is meant, nor should be implied).

Because the fans who want to create an atmopshere are the minority, plus germany has been able to keep its traditional support due to many reasons including lower ticket prices (thanks to the fans). Added to this practically every ground has a terrace, fans are organised, the culture is totally different.

I'm afraid not only will it not get better if the last decade is anything to go by it will infact get worse.

Shame, but nobody wants change.

German fans not happy about bilbao return leg prices:-

Apart from the fact that there wasn't a health and safety issue with the ones they gave away a few years back.

Would they ban me from taking one of those in? Has Health & Safety changed since then?

I know what your saying. Its just I didn't expect much more than a lame health and safety excuse, like you say, the club are contradicting themselves, had they been the ones who supplied/made the flags, it would be a different story :/

It is total wank how the German's/Italians etc can do what they want but we get told to sit down if we're standing for too long on the back ****ing row.

I was watching the AC/Barca game the other night and there were blokes literally sitting on the edge of the barrier, one leg over the edge and nobody gave a crap. It was beautiful.

The real blame lies with Flag Injury Lawyers 4U.

"I couldn't believe my local football club would allow me to take a flag into the stadium without training me properly in the correct operation. Thank you Flag Injury Lawyers 4U, I received £50,000 for the psychological damage I have suffered, I wouldn't wish unsafe flag waving on even a Forest fan"

I would and the pole should be steel and very heavy.

Do you think the club would buy some in for us. lol lol lol

I emailed about their own personal flags and things though.

Fanzone would probably be better for something not to do with their own produced merchandise.

Oh right. :)

They have a point with it coming to a halt in the corners though, would look pretty piss poor then

Don't pass it the whole way around the stadium, just from L1 to near the corner of the KOP or around the KOP.

Jim's reply wasn't too bad but it's exactly what to expect from the club, sounds to me like he's not totally against the idea but has to reply informing you how the club are pathetic with things like this.

When you've got people behind the scenes as fvcking hopeless as ours, you've got no realistic chances of ever getting anything like this going.

Even if the rules were to allow standing in the UK (by some miracle) I could still see LCFC turning it down.

Them Schalke flags are excellent lol I bet they don't take a single fan to Bilbao, which I applaud.

Surely if they did one it wouldn't pass over L1/K1 cause it wouldn't be shown on tv
