ADK Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Yes we dropped the ball big time with Yakubu, we would be bare minimum of playoffs right now if we had signed him.

RyanB89 Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Does that mean wellens is getting progressively average? Having hit 8 at one point! We need a koren or O'hara or a whittingham! O'hara is a great shout, could be a possibility too

Note that the large majority of Reading's assists are off the wings and then Chris Burke stands out too at Brum.
oli fox Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 So Waggy and Matty in 2009/10 both got more goals and assists for us than Beckford this season... Waghorn got 12 and Fryatt got 13 in all comps that season and Beckford has 15 this season..................................................
Mark_w Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Waghorn got 12 and Fryatt got 13 in all comps that season and Beckford has 15 this season.................................................. In the league, it's not like we stand a chance of winning either cup any time soon, similarly you can't guarantee the same quality of competition in the cups where as it's fair to judge based on their performances in the league.
crisp packet Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 So Waggy and Matty in 2009/10 both got more goals and assists for us than Beckford this season... And in the same season in the same league beckford got how many ?( for Leeds)
dannythefox Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 2011/12 Dave Nugent 7 Richard Wellens 5 Paul Gallagher 3 Sean St Ledger 3 Jermaine Beckford 3 Steven Howard 3 BenMarshall 3 Tom Kennedy 2 Matthew Mills 2 Gelson Fernandes 2 Daniel Drinkwater 2 Lee Peltier 2 Neil Danns 1 Jeffrey Schlupp 1 Yuki Abe 1 Paul Konchesky 1 Darius Vassell 1 Andy King 1 Lloyd Dyer 1 2010/11 Richard Wellens 8 Paul Gallagher 7 Aiyegbeni Yakubu 5 Andy King 5 Steven Howard 3 Yuki Abe 2 Ben Mee 2 Darius Vassell 2 Lloyd Dyer 2 Bruno Berner 1 Roman Bednar 1 Robbie Neilson 1 Dany N'Guessan 1 Jeffrey Bruma 1 Souleymane Bamba 1 Kyle Naughton 1 2009/10 Richard Wellens 5 Matthew Oakley 4 Matty Fryatt 4 Paul Gallagher 4 Martyn Waghorn 4 Steven Howard 3 Michael Morrison 2 Bruno Berner 2 Lloyd Dyer 1 Dany N'Guessan 1 James Vaughan 1 Andy King 1 Jay Spearing 1 Ryan McGivern 1 Jack Colback 1 Its not hard to see we are desperate for some decent wingers and a playmaker. Marshall has more than 3 assist!
Out Foxed Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 OR Yakubu knew he had PL teams sniffing and was happy to leave for them. no....
Big Dave Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Marshall only been with us a short time and more asists than most of the team!
Mark_w Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 And in the same season in the same league beckford got how many ?( for Leeds) None.
5waller5 Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 Wellens has made 39 league starts this season. He plays in the centre of midfield. It's his job to supply the ball to the strikers to score, as well as weigh in with a few himself. He's supplied 5 and scored 1. He's shit. When will people stop defending the indefensible.
ADK Posted 24 April 2012 Posted 24 April 2012 He was decent last year, this year he simply hasn't been good enough.
