Confirmed about an hour ago. (Rodgers to Liverpool).

I went for Karl Robinson, even though i think it's a step too soon there's no doubts he's a fantastic manager, two play off places with no budget whatsoever at the age of 31

Michael Laudrup has been appointed the new Swansea City manager on a two-year contract.

The former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Denmark player takes over from new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

Laudrup, who has previous managerial experience at Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Real Mallorca, is Swansea's third manager in the past four years.

The 48-year-old completed negotiations with the Premier League club on Friday and will arrive in Wales on Thursday

Laudrup's style is in keeping with the playing philosophy that Swans chairman Huw Jenkins is keen to retain.

This is where we are going wrong, too many managers with different philosophies on how the game should be played

Sensible appointment. Continuation of the style that Martinez, Sousa, Rodgers have all adopted.

Potentially amazing appointment for Swansea. Big name so could attract quality players.

Interesting appointment. Laudrup's club choices are quite unpredictable. But he has come to a stage in his life where he will only accept a job when all his conditions are met. And I believe he will be successful if the chairman's promises are kept. Never imagined he'd end up in Wales though...
