Matt Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 Leicester City boss Craig Levein has told Sky Sports News that he expects to bring in three more players. The former Hearts chief has enjoyed a busy summer in working the market, having already brought in five fresh faces. Despite an influx of new talent, Levein is keen to further bolster his playing staff and expects to bring in several more players before the new campaign's commencement. ''We let a lot of players go at the end of the season,'' said Levein. ''A lot of them for financial reasons, so it was always going to be the case that I needed quite a substantial number of players. ''We got five and I'm pleased with the standard of all of them and I think our supporters will be quite happy with them as well. ''They have all played at decent levels and are young enough in general to fit the profile of a younger, hungrier squad. ''So yeah, I'm pleased with what's been done so far and I'm looking at probably bringing in another three players before the start of the season.''

Does he know he's at the right ground. Fifteen-a-side's the other side of the main road, Craig.
Simon Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 I'm glad to hear this, I was starting to fear the squad may be a little too small, so thats going to be what; a striker (Lovell) a left back and another centre back then?
filbertway Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 This is starting to sound very promising, looking forward to seeing who they are

PRIOR09 Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 CL's three are probably Steve Lovell, who looks certain to sign, and Burton O'Brien to strengthen the midfield. The third signing will probably be a defender who can play Left-back or Centre-back, someone with versatility.
Blue Arrow Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 We cannot afford Gerrbrand. He is priced at £1 million. I think...
Louise Posted 8 July 2005 Posted 8 July 2005 The report on SSN said it was Lovell, a LB and a CB and Levein hoped to have them in within a week.
LoneWolf Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 exciting time, when its all happening.... with micky it never stopped happening but i can see this being leveins long time plan, with adams he got 1 season rejects who wasnt commited
City Fan Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 The report on SSN said it was Lovell, a LB and a CB and Levein hoped to have them in within a week. 135117 I think we also need another left midfielder as well because Tiatto will always be suspended, and Wilcox will always be injured.
Gené and Tonic Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 I do hope O'Brien comes, he sounds an exciting player.
Lester LXXIV Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 why has no one approached Campbell-Ryce from Rotherham, he's meant to be a lightning quick winger with a lot of potential??
STUHILL Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 We cannot afford Gerrbrand. He is priced at £1 million. I think... 134982 No they said 300,000 was not a large enough bid and he is a 1million pound player but a bid somewhere between those two figures could be accepted. Reckon we could get him if we can afford 5-6k, dunno whether we have got much left in piggy bank tho. Although dam Leeds seem to have a money-making machine!!

Thracian Posted 9 July 2005 Posted 9 July 2005 This is starting to sound very promising, looking forward to seeing who they are 134918 Bloody right it is. If we're going to play 15 a side I want Pieman back. We can stack four or five on top of each other across the goal with Pieman on top. That should foil the bastards and we might still pinch a goal at trhe other end.
LoneWolf Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 remember, when we got Gareth Williams... the manager wanted 5 million for him, he told Sky Sports News... we got him for 500k??? i think.. if that?
Durnerz Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 remember, when we got Gareth Williams... the manager wanted 5 million for him, he told Sky Sports News... we got him for 500k??? i think.. if that? 135518 We got him for £750k. Definetly need another Left sided player, preferably who can alternate between left back and left wing.
marko Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 I think you'll find it was £500,000. Almost certain of it
Cal Posted 10 July 2005 Posted 10 July 2005 If we would have had to pay 5mil, I dont think he'd be worth the cash
