Guest shearfox Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Got a feeling VDV could do something special this half He might actually score a goal for the Dutch....
MC Prussian Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 I'm usually not the biggest Shermany fan, but tonight, they deserve nothing but praise for their ruthlessness and efficiency in front of goal. The Netherlands, on the other hand, are pure sh*t. Have no sympathies at all. Again, they crumble under the pressure, entering the tournament as one of the (eternal) favourites. The biggest weakness is a) their inexperienced left-back, who's committing mistake after mistake (poor positioning, silly fouls, little speed, doesn't know when to track back). Reminds me of Peltier. b) Sneijder - doesn't boss the midfield the way he should. Pack your bags and off you go - sadly, they still have a chance of going through should they beat Portugal and Germany did the same to Denmark in the last two games of this group.

I actually feel sorry for Sneijder, he's class but Hollands movement is awful so he has to play short simple balls. They don't deserve anything so would be a shame if they scraped through which as you say is very probable
ScouseFox Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 When you're best defence consists of Jonny Heitinga, Van Der Wiel and some 18 year old kid you can have all the attacking talent you want, you're still going to struggle.
MC Prussian Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Oh, and it does feel as if Gayern were playing Gayern tonight.

All that attacking talent has got them how many goals... they have just been shocking all over the field in my view...

That's harsh on Willems and Sneijder. As nearly every team, the Netherlands don't have many left-backs. Pieters was earmarked but got injured. Van der Wiel has been worse than Jetro I think. And Sneijder was by FAR the best player on the pitch against Denmark. He made so many through balls, hardly lost the ball or misplaced a pass. He was brilliant. If the Dutch could actually finish, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. Hoping the Germans can hold on and that the Dutch show up against Portugal. A draw is the best we can possibly hope for against this German machine...
foxfanazer Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 All that attacking talent has got them how many goals... they have just been shocking all over the field in my view... They don't have anybody winning the ball back so their attacks are too infrequent
ScouseFox Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 All that attacking talent has got them how many goals... they have just been shocking all over the field in my view... Good point. They've made chances though and been a bit unlucky and you can't deny that on paper RVP, Huntelaar, VDV, Sneijder, Robben, Afellay and Kuyt is a line up anyone in the world would be happy with. Their defence however...

Finnegan Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Magic from RVP. Hope that wakes the Germans up a bit, they've been cruising.
Guest shearfox Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Nice finishing there, certainly been a lot better in the last 10 or so minutes...
Northants Fox 3 Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Holland are playing much better now that they scored
Northants Fox 3 Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Robben being a sulk. Yea saw that....he's not pleased lol
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Someone needs to tell Robben he's not as good as he thinks he is.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2012 Posted 13 June 2012 Also, hope the Germans wrap this up then give Gotze, Schurle and Reus a go against Denmark.
