Simmo86 Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 So in one thread you're trying to tell me Huddersfield arn't as big as Sheffield Wednesday, but in this thread you're telling me a club's history counts for nothing? Ok. Huddersfield aren't as big as Sheff Wed but that's another argument. History doesn't mean anything to pro footballers, maybe to the fans it does. But 99% of footballers aren't going to join Leeds because of the 'Revie Glory Days' they couldn't give two shits. Players will go where the money is better. Take Lucas Moura for an example, choice out of Man Utd or Inter but no he's goes to PSG where the money is and you're telling me history counts for anything? Just sums up the state football is in!

I agree, and yes, the state of football is poor... But I admire the 1%. The players like Steven Gerrard who could could easily move for money, but don't.

Leicester_Numan Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Apparently Bates is in talks with other possible buyers now the period of exclusivity has ended. No idea who they are though

WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Wouldnt of sold Snodgrass if that investment was gonna happen. They wont go up. Signed about 9 - 10 players over the summer and they expect them to just gel straight away, like we did under Sven, so we know what its like. Same with Forest, dont think theyll do much this year. They both live in the past. Good manager Warnock, but dont think theyve made that many signings. Paul Green is useless, as is Andy Gray. But who knows...

We've signed 7 and most of the others have only been here a short time yet there's still a lot of expectation of promotion on here.

Corky Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Doubt it, he loves Wednesday. And Portsmouth. And Leicester.
Out Foxed Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Apparently Bates is in talks with other possible buyers now the period of exclusivity has ended. No idea who they are though nicola adams. she pawned her gold medal and has enough to buy shitty Leeds.
Pub breath Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Can't help but laugh at Leeds, bet Peltier is really glad he went there Still laughing? It's about to happen, at long last!
Simmo86 Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Still laughing? It's about to happen, at long last! Being rich isn't everything its cracked up to be!
Fox92 Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Being rich isn't everything its cracked up to be! Depends if Sven is your manager, or not.
Pub breath Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Being rich isn't everything its cracked up to be! Not sure I want us to be rich. I just want us to be allowed to fulfill our true potential. After 8 years of Bates, you'd be celebrating too!
Simmo86 Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Not sure I want us to be rich. I just want us to be allowed to fulfill our true potential. After 8 years of Bates, you'd be celebrating too! True. Any chance these these new owners won't charge us a small fortune to goto ER?
Pub breath Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 Incidentally, Peltier has done pretty well so far. Oddly though, he seems to get caught out of position at RB sometimes but has played at CB for us too and been superb. Is RB really his natural position? I'm not convinced.
Pub breath Posted 27 September 2012 Posted 27 September 2012 True. Any chance these these new owners won't charge us a small fortune to goto ER? Haven't the foggiest to be honest, we're yet to know who the owners behind the GFH bid actually are. All very cloak and dagger. They have been very close to LUST (Leeds Supporters Trust) so i'd imagine that relationship will continue and LUST will be pushing for sensible prices and something closer to a full ER. We could add 5-10k onto attendances overnight I feel.

Oddly though, he seems to get caught out of position at RB sometimes but has played at CB for us too and been superb. Is RB really his natural position? I'm not convinced. Only played right back for us, or that's what it said on the team sheet anyway, I'm not sure he had a clue what part of the pitch a right back was supposed to be. He actually started quite well with us too, scored the winner on his debut, had some good performances in the first couple of months. He went well downhill after that though and was a liability in the second half of the season.

Fingers crossed it'll be a similar thing with Peltier. He has looked a player at CB but yeah, kinda worrying at RB.
