cc_star Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Further to our previous statement of the 29th May, Leeds United can confirm they have granted an exclusivity period to enable a potential investor to carry out the appropriate due diligence. It is anticipated this will be a fairly straightforward process. A confidentiality clause prevents the club from making any further comment. However, our discussions with them have left us very comfortable that they have the financial resources to support the club and that they will have no issues in satisfying the requirements of the Football League's Owners and Directors Test, unlike many of the previous approaches we have had to endure. We will not be making any further announcements in the near future. http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120626/a-club-statement-on-investment_2247585_2823554
Tielemans63 Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I've been saying for ages - Leeds Utd would be a great investment for somebody. Huge potential there.
weluv Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I am praying this is true. With the fanbase, ground & core of players we have it's a good investment for anyone, and the fans will come flocking back in return for a drop in ticket prices and some investment in the team. I think, looking at the side we have now, that you only need a couple of top-level operators to have a promotion winning team, i.e. 1. Lonergan 2. ? 5. Lees 6. Pearce 3. White 7. Snodgrass 4. ? 8. Green 11. ? 9. McCormack 10. Becchio
Corky Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Get rid of Bates and Warnock and you might even start becoming liked within the game.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I wouldn't be surprised if this was that Qatari(?) group who were looking at Forest at the same time. The Forest takeover seems to have gone quiet and it's not unfair to say Leeds have the greater potential.
lavrentis Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 Don't get the hate around Leeds. Decent club with good fans.
weluv Posted 26 June 2012 Posted 26 June 2012 I honestly couldn't care less whether people like us or not. TBH I've never got the Leeds hate, certainly around the modern club. From experience it tends to be a very one-eyed view of the Revie team.
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Great news for Leeds, i've always quite liked them. They need to get rid of Colin as soon as he gets them up and not make the same mistake as his other clubs by giving him the chance in the premiership, he'll only take them back down

weluv Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Jon-our ticket prices are more expensive than half the premier league, for lower mid table championship football, and have driven fans away. I think it's something a sensible board would look at.

From experience it tends to be a very one-eyed view of the Revie team. For me it's all the vile abuse that I've heard when Leeds have come down to Leicester, both at Filbert St and the KP (although, we are not angels and it has been much improved in recent games). I know little about the Revie team, however I wasn't an admirer of David O'Leary or some of your players in the time he was there.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Thankfully the Town Full of Pakis nonsense that used to follow Leeds around like a bad smell appears to have died a death now, and hasn't been heard at City games for a while. Certainly it was a regular occurrence at Filbert Street and the abuse Izzet received after Istanbul was appalling, but Leeds appear to removed that element of their support quite successfully.

Just been priced out, maybe?
21st Century Fox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Just been priced out, maybe? Benefits cover such luxuries
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Just read on twitter that the proposed takeover has collapsed
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Appears to be true, it's just coming on teletext
MPH Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 I do not understand how they can afford 850k ( or whatever it was ) for Pelts just before a takeover bid... which has now collapsed....
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 I wonder what position they're in now if all their transfers were made on the basis of the takeover. I bet Bates's face is like a smacked a*se right now. I bet he puts up away ticket and on the gate prices again
glenny_fox Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Can't help but laugh at Leeds, bet Peltier is really glad he went there
Fox92 Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Why would Peltier, or any of the new signings care as much as the fans? Leeds are probably the biggest club in our division, Elland Road is a good ground, their support is probably the best in the league and Neil Warnock has proved at Sheffield United, and recently Palace and QPR, that he can turn a team around.

Maybe they were promised that the club would be moving forward under new ownership, not going to happen under Bates. Leeds having history counts for **** all in this division, players only care about money these days. Can't see captain birdseye forking out massive wage packets. Mid table beckons........

So in one thread you're trying to tell me Huddersfield arn't as big as Sheffield Wednesday, but in this thread you're telling me a club's history counts for nothing? Ok.
