ADK Posted 29 July 2012 Posted 29 July 2012 What i don't get is why we didnt join the pack of 30 odd riders in the breakaway, i could understand if the race played out more like the womens with 3 riders up front but just seemed like they got it tactically wrong.
Super_horns Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Quite ironic we fail to get a medal because of a break-away but that works to our advantage the next day.... Never rely on the Aussies or Germans to help us! Do you fancy Wiggins to win the Time Trial and I remeber one of our ladies came 2nd in the 2008 women's version.

I am Rod Hull Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Froome going well, could get a couple of medals here
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 If he wasn't before, nailed on for Sports Personality of the Year and a Knighthood.
purpleronnie Posted 1 August 2012 Author Posted 1 August 2012 If he wasn't before, nailed on for Sports Personality of the Year and a Knighthood. I bet him at an amazing 8/11 after he won the tour, couldnt believe those odds, if I had more guts I'd have placed a couple of grand on it.

purpleronnie Posted 1 August 2012 Author Posted 1 August 2012 Indeed, I'd be surprised if they were still taking bets on him. 2/11 at the moment....still seems like easy money if you have the funds. Oh and whats with 'the thrones' tacky or what?
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 Never in doubt, amazing double and this and the TDF should pretty much guarantee the Knighthood and the Sports Personality of the Year. Arise Sir Wiggo!

I was going to lump on it but Ennis still worries me, a female athelete is hard to beat if she takes home a gold, even more so with the smile of Jessica.

I completely agree, in my eyes the TDF should give it to him automatic. I've had my fingers burnt on things like this before though, I was on Ellen McArthur when she was beaten by Beckham and even managed to end up losing to Giggs whilst on Button who had won a World Championship......

I`m going to have a pop on Giggsy, a hat-trick against Uruguay should get a few million extra votes.
Daggers Posted 1 August 2012 Posted 1 August 2012 If he wasn't before, nailed on for Sports Personality of the Year and a Knighthood. And he actually has a personality, unlike most sports people.
