ta-fc Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 We had to fold before the start of last season. After getting to the prem a lot of players didn't like the fact we weren't beating people every week and lost interest. Sad to see them fold as I'd been with them since the div 4 days! The same sort of thing has happened to Swannington this year. They've been promoted to the prem, a lot of players have left and they have now folded. At least we had a season in the prem though. Shame that Whitwick have folded had some great battles with your winger when I used to play for Groby!
Simo86 Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Shame that Whitwick have folded had some great battles with your winger when I used to play for Groby! Was he quite small and rapid? I used to love playing against your boys, always a good battle. My fondest memory was me scoring a back post volley at your place to secure the win!

My fondest memory was me scoring a back post volley at your place to secure the win! Yeah he used to run his bollocks off for 90 mins knew you'd been in a game after playing against him... We did have some great games... Didn't we draw with you on the last game of the season to get promoted?

Shame really. Something like that. i can't quite remember now.
Father Ted Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Nah, I was playing saturdays last year. Only just joined them, but I know half of the lads anyway. See you this season pal... you got many new players in then?

Really stupid idea to put them up in the first place, in what was otherwise a pretty decent constitution. Loads of teams finishing near the top of Div 1 who could compete better than Swannington.
Darkon84 Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Sporting Dynamo, Prem division in the Hinckley league No massive changes of note that Im aware of, a couple of new faces including myself. How about you guys? White Eagles is it? Had a friendly against Dunton & Broughton from Div2 last night. Had a right battle against them, with added feistyness as we all know them too. though we lost 3-1, there were certainly some positives to take out of it.

Yeah, we're losing a fair few players to university and brought a couple in two, just hope it doesn't affect our momentum. Done the double over you last season and wouldn't mind doing it again!

All the best for the season and look forward to a decent battle (hopefully) against your lot mate.

SystonFox Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Thorpe Astley defeated our second string 7-1. They've got a decent outfit expect them to challenge for promotion in their respective league. Our first XI beat Lough Galaxy 5-0
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Anyone want a game Sunday we've been let down.
Soar Fox Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Anyone want a game Sunday we've been let down. You got a pitch available?
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 You got a pitch available? I'll let you know mate ideally I was looking for someone playing closer to our level we've had some tough games recently and have a Div 1 team 3 days after the 19th.
Father Ted Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Beat Gate Hangs Well 5-1 today, great to be back playing
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Beat Gate Hangs Well 5-1 today, great to be back playing Bizare game yesterday, giving Markfield reserves a tanking 4-0 up on 60 minutes and they, assisted by a us losing two players, going down to 10 men and deciding to not mark from corners, ended up 5-4 up. we then missed to pen and managed to snatch an equaliser at the death ,

Happens so often as well, we were 4-3 down in a match last season with 2 minutes to go and won 5-4 Another match we were 4-0 down with 10 to go and brought it back to 4-3, just couldn't get the equaliser.

To be honest it's not really happened to us before. Not to this extent anyway the closest thing I can remember is us being down 4-2 with 60 minutes left and going on to win 8-4 but we were playing a very bad side and should never of ended up 4-2 down in first place. Seriously crazy, I know it's never easy when your playing with 10 men and a load of players out of position but they'd hardly had a chance until 60 minutes in and they went on to score 5 goals.
Tevez Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Was it Markfield first team Manny? and if so, what were they like?
Simo86 Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Was it Markfield first team Manny? and if so, what were they like? No we played their reserves
