lol Love these stories from Sunday League matches! Happens so often as well, we were 4-3 down in a match last season with 2 minutes to go and won 5-4 lol Another match we were 4-0 down with 10 to go and brought it back to 4-3, just couldn't get the equaliser.

We were 5-0 up at half time once cruising against a terrible team and ended up drawing 5 all with a classic air kick by our keeper in the last minute

Playing for AFC sporting charnwood in the sunday charnwood league. Set the team up as a bunch of mates going into our 3rd season now. Got promoted from Div 2 and throught we did enough to stay in Div 1 last season finishing 8th but we have been put back into Div 2. But have 3 of our main players back this season after going travelling for a year.

Last friendly this sunday before the season kicks off for us.

Inter Mivan, Alliance Div 6.

Looking forward to it, some good teams in there this year, wouldn't like to call it.

Another Div 6'er! Should be some decent banter on here this season.

Your in Div 6??? Your playing Sileby on Sunday....?

Good luck with that.

As we are Division 3 Charnwood we will be competing in the Sunday Shield with Division Six Alliance teams so could well draw one of you at some point.

Division 6? Bloody hell we played a team in Div 4 off the alliance league and they were bloody awfull. So god knows what the standard is like in division 6.

lol now that's not very nice is it?

lol

We spanked Gate Hangs Well from Div 3 last Sunday so we're in good form. As long as we're competitive enough :P Might be some good keeping practice for me lol

Isn't Gate Sparky's team?

Indeed sounds like they been upped a few divisions though as they were in 5 last season.

I don't think Division 5 + 6 were very competitve as I recall playing Harrow who I think Were there or there abouts in Div 5 last season and we gave them a complete shoeing.

Sileby will be a completley different kettle of fish to The Gate Hangs Well! Got a few lads playing Senior League.

Yeah we beat Harrow in the cup last season. We also beat two div 4 Alliance league sides last season and imo there's very little between divs 4,5,6. Thing is a lot of teams have players who play Saturdays and only occasionally play on a Sunday when needed and they can effect the result greatly. I remember playing Harborough Hotshots last season in a big game and they got Ash Robinson in for the game (fully legit and signed up obviously) who plays for Quorn... tore us apart, different class.

It's our last pre-season friendly so if anything, more of a fitness work out than anything and I'm sure our lads will have to do a lot of chasing on Sunday!

Superfly are div 3 and expected to do well in that division. Odd.

As for the standard of div 6? Harborough Hotshots who finished second last year are a decent side now in div 4. Inter mivan who were in 7 last year have a top goal scorer who can notch 30 plus a couple of other handy players both experienced and talented younger lads. Had some good battles with them last season

Cheers mate, enjoyed our games with you last season aswell, would be nice to see your reserves do well this season, nice bunch of lads and never gave up hope even though you wasn't having the best of seasons. Will be keeping an eye out for your results.

All the best mate :)

We beat Superfly in a friendly 3-1 at around Christmas time last season but their results improved a fair bit after that.

Hotshots were shit hot last season when they had Ash Robinson playing (played last 6/7 games of the season) and destroyed teams. Were average without him. Think they may struggle.

It was hard work just to find 11 lads to turn up at some points. We had one game against Wigston rangers where we only had 7.had to call up 4 mates as ringers and we got beat 11-0.embarrasing.atleast we turned out though and fielded a side.finished the season.

Have made some additions this pre season and won our first friendly of pre season 3-2 last night. Lost the prev 2 7-1 to Thorpe Ashley and 5-1 to harboro hotshots (score doesn't do us justice could easily have finished 2-2!) so hoping to push up div 7

Nice one mate, who did you beat?

Weve had a quality pre season to be fair, Played 10, Won 7, drew 2 and lost 1 against Harborough hotshots 6-5. Majority of them against div 4 or 5 clubs, made some quality signings this year, very dangerous in attack. Quietly confident we will do well.

We beat EM Rangers, div 4 LSL but a few of there lads were claiming to be first teamers and not associated with that shower. Makes our result look better and more satisfying.

Weve got AFC royalist on Sunday they've been moved up to div 6 with you but I don't think they were great last season.beat us twice in the league 2-1 once very controversially with a hand of god goal. Another good test and I'll post a small match report at some point.

A small match report would be very handy, weve got them first game of the season next Friday so get as much info as possible mate ;). They were our only bogey team last season, beat us twice, think they're the only team that did.
