Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 So... Peterborough (home) Charlton (away) Blackburn (away) Blackpool (home) Wolves (away) Burnley (home) Hull City (home) Middlesbrough (away) Huddersfield (away) Bristol City (home) Birmingham (away) Brighton (home) C.Palace (home) If Pearson's not got 20 points out of that I will be truly stunned. I find it a tad ironic the last one in that bet is Palace at home.
fleckneymike Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 So an average of NP's 3 seasons 55/3 = 18.33 .... needs to beat 19. Interesting bet!!!! You might be better going for a spread bet
fleckneymike Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 So... I find it a tad ironic the last one in that bet is Palace at home. Ever a glass half empty man I'd say games 2-7 are very tricky. I fail to see the irony in playing Palace. No offence meant Mike, your stats are impressive to be fair. All I've said is (and this really is all I've said), that Pearson must surely be aware of how bad those stats are and, by definition, would not choose to play Lloyd very much. If he DOES, then this may dilute your argument somewhat. Personally, and to conclude, I believe Lloyd has a part to play this season and wouldn't be at all surprised if he's in the starting 11 against the Borough. I may be wrong, I sometimes am. Anyway, been a good discussion with you mate. Albeit a futile one.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 So... Peterborough (home).... 3 points Charlton (away)..... 1 point Blackburn (away)...... Zero Blackpool (home)..... 3 points Wolves (away)..... Zero Burnley (home).... 3 points Hull City (home).... 3 points Middlesbrough (away).... Zero Huddersfield (away).... 1 point Bristol City (home)..... 3 points Birmingham (away).... Zero Brighton (home)..... 3 points C.Palace (home).... 3 points If Pearson's not got 20 points out of that I will be truly stunned. I find it a tad ironic the last one in that bet is Palace at home. Unless I'm shite at maths ( or being overly optimistic) I make that 23 lovely points Dan Therefore, I agree...
Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I might stick this bet in my sig Adds a bit of interest.
Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Ever a glass half empty man I'd say games 2-7 are very tricky. I fail to see the irony in playing Palace. To be fair it's true but put yourself in the oppositions shoes every game and think how positive you'd be going into that fixture. Irony because it was Pearson's first game back.
MattyFromLE Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I can't believe it's come to predicting scores to base an ultimatum on. How about let's be supportive and positive about the team, instead of writing ourselves off before a competitive match is completed?
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Ever a glass half empty man I'd say games 2-7 are very tricky. I fail to see the irony in playing Palace. Albeit a futile one. Why? Because I didn't agree with you? Cheer up mate, not everyone will.
Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Unless I'm shite at maths ( or being overly optimistic) I make that 23 lovely points Dan Therefore, I agree... I reckon... Peterborough (home).... 3 points Charlton (away)..... 1 point Blackburn (away)...... 1 point Blackpool (home)..... 1 point Wolves (away)..... 0 Burnley (home).... 3 points Hull City (home).... 3 points Middlesbrough (away).... 1 point Huddersfield (away).... 1 point Bristol City (home)..... 3 points Birmingham (away).... 0 Brighton (home)..... 1 points C.Palace (home).... 3 points 21 points. I must admit that fixture list is banana skin galore.
Happy Fox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Automatic promotion form is 2 points a game right? I think 15 games is a good indication of how the season may plan out 30 points would show we are the right track , but such is the competitiveness of the division, I can see a lot of teams having roughly the same points but goal difference separating them.
fleckneymike Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 To be fair it's true but put yourself in the oppositions shoes every game and think how positive you'd be going into that fixture. Irony because it was Pearson's first game back. I'd forgotten that. As omens go that's not too encouraging.

Corky Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 FOOTBALL CLICHE ALERT!! Let's take each game as it comes, starting with Peterborough. If we look too far ahead we could be knocked out of our stride early doors.

Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I'd forgotten that. As omens go that's not too encouraging. No real omen and it really isn't that ironic either. Pretty similar to me then.. A draw away at Blackburn though Dan?? Safe moneys on the home banker there surely? Their manager is Steve Kean, I actually can see us winning there believe it or not, I have a feeling we'll sneak a 0-1. But my money's on a draw, wouldn't be surprised if we lost but I'd be disappointed, they are without a doubt the most over-rated side for me this pre-season, they really don't worry me. Bolton and Wolves worry me far more than Blackburn do.
Dan Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 FOOTBALL CLICHE ALERT!! Let's take each game as it comes, starting with Peterborough. If we look too far ahead we could be knocked out of our stride early doors. Oh without a doubt, I mean for all I know Brighton could go bust by the time we play them and have points deducted, Poyet walked and being funded by the gay parade, although, it probably won't happen. But Peterborough simply has to be 3 points. They're no mugs but I'll be very disappointed if we don't win that game.
5waller5 Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Sigged it. You're on Waller. I've got a sneeky feeling we may be looking at 19 points - that'll be entertaining!!!!! Do we just buy each other a beer if it's 19!?
5waller5 Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I reckon... Peterborough (home).... 3 points Charlton (away)..... 0 point Blackburn (away)...... 3 points Blackpool (home)..... 3 point Wolves (away)..... 0 Burnley (home).... 3 points Hull City (home).... 0 points Middlesbrough (away).... 0 point Huddersfield (away).... 3 point Bristol City (home)..... 3 points Birmingham (away).... 0 Brighton (home)..... 3 points C.Palace (home).... 1 points Oh dear ..... think i should have looked at the fixture list first!!!!! 22 points!!!!!
5waller5 Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Sure he works hard but he doesn't score many goals. You're just one of these prats who likes any player that runs around a lot. Why I oughta!!!!
fleckneymike Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 We've taken 4 points from 12 against Bristol at home 5 from 21 at home to Burnley and we never do well at Blackburn 4 from 18 (Prem) so I think we'd be doing well to get maximum points from those 3.
Dan Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Trivial issue, there's nothing special at all about Bristol City or Burnley at home, they're both mediocre sides who are worse than us, who we just happened to have cocked up against in the past. No excuse for not beating either of them.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 We won't lose at Boro always do well there. Need to get off to a good start for once.
