That's possibly the most prudent point in this whole thread. Isn't this issue addressed in the all the Domestic Violence stuff though? Not explicitly of course, but implicitly?

I either completely misinterpreted what you first put or you've put it far better the second time around. It doesn't make these posters a bad thing though. It does when one of them says to men that you 'could' be charged with rape if you do not have the consent of the person you are having intercourse with. If a woman gets so drunk that she's in no state to defend herself then it's not her fault but she's still been raped. Surely it's in her best interest to make that eventuality as unlikely as possible? We could ban men from going out of the house.

It's called 'Bystander intervention' and there's a massive amount written on it by Psychologists. Essentially it means people do Fook all about intervening when faced with potentially dangerous situations. Primarily for fear for themselves if they did but also about what the criminal implications of intervening would be. You're right about 'fire' though.. People do usually react to that.

If women don't follow the above rules they are simply not helping themselves to minimise risk. You see being a victim of rape isn't about choice, or risk management. You may as well just come out and say that a female is 'asking for it' because she's wearing a short skirt..........
