The Col City school of blame in on Morgan because he's captain... it wasn't going well last season either when he wasn't captain.

And it doesn't mean we are weaker either, which is what you said.

lol

What you going on about now.

I said ultimately Pearson was to blame for defensive frailties because of how he is setting us up and Morgan because he should be marshalling the back four at all times.

I also said compare this to Hobbs and Brown and you'll see we are miles off.

That was with a defence typically of Nielson or Morrison at right back by the way..

I can't help it if you appear to love Morgan and want to have his babies can I? That's your issue not mine..

Cc star likes using derogatory terms, or so it would seem, for anyone who doesn't share his level of optimism.

16th in the table, having lost the first 3 away and having a squad that doesn't yet look equipped for promotion IMO will make some question and suggest that Pearson may not be doing the right things. Personally, I'd like to see the flat 4-4-2 away from home stop. Does that make me a 'moron'?

Nope, just a City fan who would like the young squad to play in a way that is perhaps a bit more sensible in this tough division.

It's all opinions. I don't consider myself a 'moron' for expressing them.

..... and you can stop talking sense!!! It's disturbing my sense of perspective!!!!

You keep telling us is has nothing to do with the defence and everything to do with the midfield... so what good would it be comparing them?

We have been through this all before, it is all the players fault, which particular player depends on the prejudices of the poster.

I keep looking back at NFP's first Championship squad, man for man I think the current players are more capable in pretty much every position, though possibly a little lacking in experience.

If NFP can combine the organisation, work ethic and team spirit of the 'old' squad with our current players, I think we would be very competitive.

And this is why I am concerned about NP's ability to do so this time - you could see that happening almost from the first game in his first period in charge - i just don't see it now after a year.

Spot on. But this will take time. Last time around, the squad came into the Championship after a successful season in League One, winning a lot of games, and already had the organisation, work ethic and team spirit. It's not something you can just instill overnight, which is why the short termism or changing managers every 5 minutes, overhauling squads every season... it just doesn't work. You need these players to play with eachother for a considerable amount of time. If you look at all the teams that have gone up in the past few years, they've all got settled squads and the players have been playing with eachother for a long time - they know eachother. All it took was quality additions to these squads in some cases to make the extra step.

Pearson will get it right and the signs are that things are coming together nicely, but it will take time. Even if we're not promoted this season, I would happily leave Pearson in charge to lead us into the next campaign. I think the thais have realised that this will be a long term project rather than instant success and I think they signalled that when they appointed Pearson. Hopefully they'll keep their nerve in the face of a few poor results and keep their eye on the bigger picture.

This ain't a game of bloody chess mate!

lol

Why do you think I want a stronger more physical midfield in front of the back four? The defence ain't very good. It needs supporting especially away from home.

If Whitbread comes in and suddenly makes all the difference it may not need supporting. But it certainly does now. The flat 4-4-2 away from home leaves us wide and exposed and puts even more pressure onto a back 4 that is struggling.

Anyone who wants to see that, will do.

Babs don't want to see it.. He adores Morgan.

Simply saying we need a more physically strong, defensive minded midfield to cover a back 4 that looks shaky away from home is a pretty simple concept mi old mucker..

Like last season.. No change in my opinion really.

If that's 'covering bases' then guilty as charged.

At home we look more assured.. Like last season.

Can't speak for him, but the people I consider morons are not like yourself.

They're the people who never wanted NP back, who say he should go now and who never wanted Sven to leave.

It's clear that NP isn't getting it right at the mo. Nothing wrong with our play, I've seen some stuff played this season I'd not seen for years. They are minor minor errors which have a big impact on results.

I've always been a big Pearson fan but my judgement isn't clouded by this. We are so close to getting it spot on. I really hope hes allowed the time to do so. We need to start performing for 90mins. Pearson knows this.

Im not sure why people call him arrogant either. He dropped king and reinstated him the 3rd game,.and gally looks on his way out. So hes not playing his 'favourites'

We are close to getting it right, a new manger would upheaval the squad and effectively ruin any chance if success this year. Look where changing our manager every 10months got us last time. Relegated.

I think fans need to start realising we are just a bogey team to ourselves. Nothing is ever straight forward at city. Our fans are our own worst enemy. Even now I agree with Pearson's 'grandeur' comment if it was aimed at the fans. I love leicester but really we are a small average club. Perhaps underachieving now we have decent funding but that doesnt give us q divine right for promotion.

Pearson knows this league unlike Sven which is why he should be given more time. It's unbelievable to think of fans wanting him out now, when you think of other managers given time and their success because of that. Fergie at man u. Can you imagine where they'd be now had the board got shot when the fans wanted? Everton under moyes usually start the season slowly but come good. I don't hear Everton fans wanting rid. Pulis at stoke. Pardew.

I can't think of any positive whatsoever in bringing in a new manager. And if we did, because I dont think we'd go up this season the fans will be calling for his head next year too. It's just a merrygoround and stability is the only way to stop the vicious circle.

Anyway time to do some work

I think he will make a big difference. While Moore has done well in his appearances so far this season, it will take so much pressure off the defence having two quality, experienced championship players in the heart of defence. I think Morgan and Whitbread really compliment eachother as well - you've got Morgan, the strong, physical stopper and Whitbread, the faster, more technically proficient defender who reads the game.

I think things should start to come together now defensively, hopefully Whitbread and Morgan will be mainstays, with St. Ledger and Moore as back up, then Moore can also go back to being back up for the RB position as well.

I'm a big fan of Moore and I think playing in these games will have given him some very valuable experience, but we desperately need experienced heads in defence. Very excited to see Whitbread come in.

It's not a simple concept, it's bloody confusing. Because you just said "the defence isn't very good", but only yesterday or the day before listed a long line of defenders saying they can't all have been shit and that the midfield was the cause.

Anyway... moving on. I have work to do.

Thanks - its always good to be called a moron by someone who accepts mediocrity and thinks that losing over half the games played this season is 'getting it right'. Good job we're not getting it wrong then!

I think there is a difference between accepting that we'll only ever be a mid-table championship side, and knowing that we have to be patient to get the right players and management to get us into the Premiership and sustain that, rather than flopping in our first season.

I believe we have to be patient. The team is fairly new to each other, and naturally will take some blending in time - pre-season isn't enough to blend a team, you need match experience as a team. Around christmas I think we'll be around the top 6 and playing well.

Whilst it is still early I feel it needs to be pointed out that we are 19th in the Championship. A win tonight and we will not be too far away from the play offs at least. A loss and we will already be 8 points off the top. Seems already to me that is a hell of a lot of ground to give teams. I know there has been a fine line between a win and a loss so far this season but we need to start picking up points and fast because before we know it the top 3 or 4 sides will be out of sight by the middle of November. Then we will be in the same boat as the last 2 seasons trying to scrape in to the back end of the play offs

I never said I thought we'd always be mid table. There are teams in the Premiership much smaller than us. There are some things we do well, fanbase as an example. But I do think we're almost cursed. If our squad were wearing forest shirts they'd probably be top.

Certainly on this forum I think the fans making the most noise on wanting rid of NP are the naive fans thinking all we needed to do was throw some cash at the manager and hey presto

It's not that easy which is why I was and still remain gutted about that night in Cardiff. I thought then it was our best chance of promotion for the foreseeable and it looks like I was right

Has Pearson lost the fans??

Now 66% in the "no" camp .... that's from 80% after the first 2/3rds of the votes had been cast.

If nothing else this poll is fascinating statistically!!! Tonight will have a huge swing one way or the other me thinks!

What I like about NP:

When we lose he takes the interviews and the critism well. When we win, he lets Shakey or the Old Steve Walsh take the credit in interviews. He knows where the buck stops and he showed how much Leicester means to him when he returned.

The players he has brought in are for the future and exactly what is needed when we go up. MON did it and by the time we got to the premiership they were playing as a team and winning football matches.

It's only my opinon, but to let NP go before the end of the season would be another set back in a year decade littered with set backs.

Leicester don't play in France very often but I have watched the last 3 on the telly or computer. Going tonight though so I can be a real fan for the night - we haven't looked as good this season (in the 3 I have seen) as we did against Derby last season you know, or is it my poor reception in France that's making us look a bit average?

That could be it actually.
