They should just ask Mikel who was in front of Terry at the time, and looked around in disgust at him. Or I'm I missing something here?

Me too off the field, but on it Cole is one of the best left backs in the world and Terry is still arguably our best centre back, why force them out. Baines is not and will never be as good or better then Cole, so why do people want him to take Cole's place. Cole has probably been our most consistent International player for quite a while now

All three are quality players. Not as good as Cole though. He still has at least the World Cup in him. Baines is adequate cover. Gibbs and Bertrand need more 1st team football before they are ready. I'm all for bringing the youth into the England side but we need a few experienced players in there as well.

When the World Cup comes around, the likes of Cole, Lampard, Gerrard will all be around 35-36. Some international teams have a couple of players around that age, but not as many as 3,4,5. Our youth is very good in some positions apart from the forwards in my opinion, left-backs we have Baines, Bertrand and Gibbs one of them needs to get the chance sooner or later, and now Ashley Cole has said that why don't we give Baines the chance now, Baines is a fantastic player one of my favourite players in the Premier League, his crossing is deadly aswell. While in central midfield, we have Cleverley, Wilshere and Livermore.
