Rusko187 Posted 23 October 2012 Share Posted 23 October 2012 Intrigued by everyone's thoughts of how many points do you think a team need to achieve the below in the championship this season. Automatics: Play-offs: Safety: For the past few years its been something around the 60 mark for play-offs has it not?

marty78 Posted 23 October 2012 Share Posted 23 October 2012 Safety? We're halfway there. The others are going to take so many more points it's not worth worrying about just yet.
foxesfan1989 Posted 23 October 2012 Share Posted 23 October 2012 It varies a lot from year to year. At a guess: Auto: 85 Playoffs: 75 Safety: 50 Usually the minimums needed. But it really depends on how competitive the league becomes.

No. Would need a minimum 72 points plus for play offs I imagine and late 80's for Automatic. Think we may well be able to ignore the last one. Stinkenzo Posted 23 October 2012 Share Posted 23 October 2012 Wouldnt be surprised if late 60's get into the PO's this year and Champs are high 70's/low 80's its that competitive.
Leicester_Numan Posted 24 October 2012 Share Posted 24 October 2012 If we keep winning, no-one will catch us and we'll be up by March . Realistically, we're a third of the way to the play offs at a quarter of the way through the season averaging just over 2 points a game. That's easily automatic promotion form

DanTheMan Posted 24 October 2012 Share Posted 24 October 2012 As per my thread on the matter, the stats for the previous 10 seasons are as follows: Auto spots: Average: 87 Least Needed: 80 Most Needed: 93 Playoffs: Average: 74 Least Needed: 71 Most Needed: 76 Don't have the stats for guaranteed safety, but I don't think we need to worry about that this season P.S. Incase anyone's interested, current pace puts us and Cardiff to finish on 96pts - see my spreadsheet for up-to-date stats for all teams
