Bayfox Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 In terms of db per person the poster is right sk1 topped a uk survey. I also remember us being 3 down to liverpool and still singing non stop for the last 20mins. So it can be done. the mon years were great in sk1 and sk2 now granted the results helped but we loved the whole underdog thing.

Kitchandro Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Man City fans were a credit to their team last night. Generally over the years they have always been well supported and loud. Leicester fans are different, much more reserved with pockets of atmosphere in the ground rather than supplying a good atmosphere. It is nothing to do with the ground, it was exactly the same at Filbert Street where the likes of Man City, Man U, Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield U, Sheffield Wednesday, Arsenal, Spurs etc etc would always provide a better atmosphere in the ground than our own support would generate. Not sure why, but it is true that certain fans have always been more inventive with their chants and always supply more noise. Stoke is another one I can think of to add to the list. Anyone who harps back to the good old days of Filbert Street will have only seen a good atmosphere in key games of key seasons, but the majority of time we failed to raise the roof and were often out done by the away support. Not having a go at our fans, I just think maybe we are a more reserved set of people than say Yorkshire people or the cocky Londoners. West Ham is another group who were always louder than us. Can't see it ever changing, it has been the same since the 70's and we will only raise the roof if we have really key games, then also expect the opposition to be louder if they are on the above list. So what you're saying is, we don't have as many loud fans as the biggest clubs in England. What a revelation.

I can only speak about Filbert Street during the MON years but it was far from sh*ite. Me and my mate used to get there for 2pm for every game and we werent the only ones. If it was that bad what were we turning up that early for!? It certainly wasnt for the facilities!
LCFC FOX Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 I liked every single song pretty much that Man City sung Here's to you Vincent Kompany, City loves you more than you will know wooooahhhhh YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA TOURE KOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO TOURE woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Fernandiniho nananananananaanana Nasa Nasari Nasari Nasa Nasari And then there was more about there own club and singing about United. Every song they sung was loud and clear and was at a normal speed. I wish we could take some of these songs for our players.

LCFC FOX Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 So just copy them? FFS. You're never going to sing songs that other teams don't sing?
Dan Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 You're never going to sing songs that other teams don't sing? He has a point though. Not saying never do it, but does that not completely defeat what made them stand out?
LCFC FOX Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 He has a point though. Not saying never do it, but does that not completely defeat what made them stand out? I didn't say all of them just one or two. If it sounded good them singing it why can't we sing it? Here's to you Danny Drinkwater, Leicester loves you more than you will know woahhhh would sound good and it sounded good last night too.

Rob1742 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 No, I am saying those clubs have more enthusiastic fans. As an example, when Newcastle used to come here, they would be louder than our fans, despite there being obviously more of our fans than theirs. The same applies with the other clubs stated. If you look at the Pozman yesterday, I very much doub't Leicester would have managed a whole away end doing what Man City did yesterday.Do you get it now - or should I try again with you?

It just seems when an original-ish idea (Except Boys in Blue) gets thought up, it gets shat on. Two years later, half the Football League sing it, and it becomes acceptable to our fans (which is exactly what happened with WLY). It's no coincidence the most highly regarded sets of away fans in the country (Man U, Man C, Leeds, Liverpool etc) have great and varied songbooks which their ends are proud to belt out. You try and get Iwan is a Welshman (or similar classics) going nowadays and half a dozen turn round and give you a look like you've pissed in their Pimms.

Rob1742 Posted 18 December 2013 Posted 18 December 2013 Kitchandro - Stoke, West Ham, Birmingham City - all similar size teams, yet they are more enthusiastic. Get it yet?

Iwan Roberts hasn't played for us for more than 15 years. He's not exactly Eric Cantona. Move on.
Out Foxed Posted 19 December 2013 Posted 19 December 2013 the only way you'll ever hope to change it from ground level is to print out some song sheets with the classics (related to leicester) and hand them out at the ground before the game. a tad corny, but it will never change with just a small section of fans singing. half the people don't know the words to the songs you want them to sing. take a popular one like ei ei ei o for example, i heard it get another airing at the man city game because a lot people think it's "up the football, here we go".

What if you've had a long & detailed look at what 'moving on' entails & you don't like what you see there?
Johnny Cash Posted 19 December 2013 Posted 19 December 2013 I do it but I don't enjoy it. I sing along to the drum but I hate the drum. When will we have something of own? A genuine attempt to write our own song and own celebration needs doing! You will hear the chants we sing at just about every other ground in the country. Shite. the only way you'll ever hope to change it from ground level is to print out some song sheets with the classics (related to leicester) and hand them out at the ground before the game. a tad corny, but it will never change with just a small section of fans singing. half the people don't know the words to the songs you want them to sing. take a popular one like ei ei ei o for example, i heard it get another airing at the man city game because a lot people think it's "up the football, here we go". When you're smiling should have its words on the big screen for a few games, then we can all sing together pre-game.
