foxinexile Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I don't like the Poznan so ... I don't do it. But then again, I don't like dreadlocks so ... I don't wear them. But each to their own. Instead of worrying about what everyone else is doing after we've scored, why not just concentrate on your own goal celebration? At least the guys and girls jumping up and down with their backs to the pitch are doing something. And that, surely, is the whole point? Doing something is a must; doing nothing is, quite simply, not an option. And that goes for life in general, not just football. In the meantime ... 6-0! C'mon Leicester!!
Bayfox Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 First home game of the season for me today as I came home for the weekend from uni. Was shocked to see us still doing the Poznan!? I thought we had left it well alone months back. I hope I'm not the only one who views it as very gimmicky and cringe. Think this 1st post was the stupid post in this thread. Don't like it. Don't do it. If others wish to how the fcuk is it hurting you? If you don't want to see us do it i suggest you stand at the back of the kop loads of empty seats near us. And when we score you can turn your back on L1 and the family stand........oh wait!!!
Mack Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 It works when everyone does it , like at forest away last season before the kick off I did'nt!
Voll Blau Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I just think it's embarrassing how we're so content to copy every phenomenon going these days. FFS it's like our fans are too stupid to think for themselves. The OP has some valid points. What's wrong with a good old fashioned mental after a goal?

Both of these have happened to me before, in the same celebration as well.
AlphaMaleFox Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 This (another) Poznan thread makes me feel...
RonnieTodger Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 It works when everyone does it , like at forest away last season before the kick off I've seen that on youtube and it looks pretty poor. When I was there it felt/looked like everyone did but only 50% actually did it. It's actually taken off more at home games now, with the family stand.
Dan Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 I just think it's embarrassing how we're so content to copy every phenomenon going these days. FFS it's like our fans are too stupid to think for themselves. The OP has some valid points. What's wrong with a good old fashioned mental after a goal? Agreed. Have fans always done it? We're not the only ones but we certainly don't miss a 'trick'. I'd find it less embarrassing if we did more stuff unique to us.
Kitchandro Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 The thing that I find embarrassing about it is it isn't spontaneous. We're like those footballers who when they score do a stupid rehearsed dance like they're in nightclub or auditioning for a rap video. Proper celebrations shouldn't be so organised. Before the Man City game Jobber used to bang his drum in the same way and we'de chant carnaval de paris but we just jumped around and went mental. There was a great video on Youtube at one point of the 2nd and 3rd goals against Forest, and all the celebrations in between. I can only find this one now but it's not the one I was looking for. The poznan was good for a bit but it's lost it's novelty appeal for me now, I just think it's a bit sad and boring these days.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Do man city still do it? And if anything, there are way more people doing it now than when we started doing it. Lighten up.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Kitchandro was this the one you're looking for? Safely in my you tube favorites box
Fox92 Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Give the lad a break, he has an opinion like all of us... I don't personally do it, I'd rather just do my own thing, as always, which isn't pre-arranged. People moan about goal music, so I don't understand why people can't moan about this Poznan as well. Even the reporter on Radio Suffolk said "why are the Leicester fans doing the Poznan?"
Kitchandro Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Kitchandro was this the one you're looking for? Safely in my you tube favorites box It's not, but that is a good one. I've actually found the one I was looking for in my downloads folder but it's no longer on Youtube. It's similar to that one but more mental, the part where we would do the poznan now is just a load of people jumping around, looks epic. There's almost no footage of what's going on on the pitch, and there's a moment where you just see us stop singing and realise we're about to score again before absolutely exploding - it's absolutely brilliant, almost brings a tear to me eye. It's quite heartbreaking watching it tbh, we can only dream of having an atmopshere/celebrations/attendance like that now. I was really proud to be a City fan that day.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 In time it might die a natural death when enough people who currently do it feel it's had it's day. I don't mind the "organised" regularity of it and I've never minded engaging in a bit of stupid fun watching the City but appreciate that kind of thing isn't for everybody. Although, as discussed recently the "Aaargh tw4t you're shit" goal kick chant has been going strong for decades so who knows
Corky Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 It's harmless and inoffensive. No doubt it will finish soon, but I don't see a problem with it.
MrSpaM Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 What do you propose? We go back to nothing at all?
Kitchandro Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 What do you propose? We go back to nothing at all? We weren't doing nothing at all before the poznan. We're doing less in terms of creating an atmosphere than ever before now, even with the poznan and a couple of newish chants.
JonnyBoy Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 it looked good at Forest from vidoes i've seen from forest fans when we did it in the cup. I dont mind it aslong as everyone is doing it and not looking patchy
Bugg Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 If people want to do it then let them. Really cannot understand why people care if the opposition fans think it's "cringeworthy" or not.
Weller in Tights Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 If people want to do it then let them. Really cannot understand why people care if the opposition fans think it's "cringeworthy" or not. This. Shouldn.t care what other teams fans think. No hold on. Let me contadict myself. I must admit, the drum is bloody embarrassing, especially when he keeps on banging the bloody thing when the chant has faded out. But the Poznan?? its alright, bit of fun, if you dont want to do it then dont. If the majority in an area dont want to do it then it will naturally end when the majority dont want it.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Let's face it, when Mr Tumble is on CBeebies doing it (those on here old enough to have kids will know) it definitely NOT something you want to be seen doing at the match!
Guest MattP Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Have you asked the club if they can swop the Kop with the family stand?
Dan Posted 30 November 2012 Posted 30 November 2012 Got this one off Twitter, apparently Lech Poznan fans were spotted doing "the City"
