It's great to score goals.

But I despise seeing the grinning faces of the hapless cretins that inhabit the row in front of me, as they turn round to 'do the poznan'.

Let's face it when Mr Tumble is on a toddlers TV program doing it (parents will know what I'm on about) it's very ****ing far from something you want to be associated with. Let along seen participating in in public. *****.

Wow, you might want to talk to a counsellor if you feel like that about a goal celebration.

I'm pretty comfortable that nobody who actually knows me would call me a cretin either!

Needs to go. As does all of this copied crap. Time to be original and stick with what we were good at for years.

I'm positive about most things but quite frankly it's plagiarised, half assed and embarassing as is the prissy "we love you" Glad Man City fans took the piss it's what it deserved. Why not put some bells on your ankles and wrists and wave a stick with ribbon attached at the same time. How about just be vocal and original or at least unified loud and proud instead auditioning for a West End Dance part.

Silence?

We need more songs not less.

We've become good at silence - why? Because there's absolutely nothing unless Jobber's drumming.

It's all well and good having things like this but we've become completely reliant on having one bloke start all of our atmosphere, and even he can't be arsed based on what I hear inside the ground.

I do wonder if some people are blinkered about the past and whether I've been fed a load of crap by a lot of the older generation - but we were once a terrific fanbase who were respected in the top flight because of it. On nights like last night we'd have just made an occasion of it and enjoyed ourselves, but what did we get? Absolute silence bar about a 5 minute period after we scored.

The 'Poznan' clearly isn't the answer. A genuine desire to bring back the old songs is, and we don't have it.

We love you's another. Was quality for a few games at first but now it's half arsed and gone past it's sell by date. Generally met by "as if they sing that shitty Palace song"

It was certainly done in the first instance as a piss take, but it grew.

Last night I'm certain it was a piss take, it's never ever done over there when we're losing.

But they didn't do it once? They did a pisstake of us.

They did it when we played them in the cup few years ago.

We did it back taking the piss when we scored and it's been done ever since.

Jesus there are some sensitive souls on here, if you enjoy doing something do it. If you dont, be quiet. Seems nothing more than a bit of banter between fans, why is that embarresing?

No wonder the place is so quiet these days, everyone is so disapproving, you cant like everything but you can allow other to enjoy what they like.

Ha ha ha ....sensitive? I gave an opinion on what I feel. You are right though Strokes if people enjoy turning there back having a cuddle and bouncing up and down then that's their perogative!

It is their perogative, by the way the whole post wasn't aimed at you.

Leicester fans used to be able to take the piss out of themselves, perhaps that's the key to creating a better atmosphere.

I know mate and totally agree about the taking piss element, it used to be lightning quick and rapier wit ala Man City fans "Shall we show you how it's done" As on "old timer" I'm not into all this prissy dancy stuff, that being my opinion. Rightly so, people do what they want it's a free society.I like old fashioned piss taking banter and counter banter. An example West Ham away the other year when our chants really got to Rob Green "You let your country down". Let's be original and intimidating not audition for Britains Got Talent. :)

We should invent smething revolutionary, how about the reverse Poznan?

Do the Poznan, but like backwards, I think more people would join in if it was just jumping up and down the spot rather than turning your back.

That's what we used to do. Except we didn't do it in sync.

Man City fans were a credit to their team last night. Generally over the years they have always been well supported and loud.

Leicester fans are different, much more reserved with pockets of atmosphere in the ground rather than supplying a good atmosphere.

It is nothing to do with the ground, it was exactly the same at Filbert Street where the likes of Man City, Man U, Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield U, Sheffield Wednesday, Arsenal, Spurs etc etc would always provide a better atmosphere in the ground than our own support would generate.

Not sure why, but it is true that certain fans have always been more inventive with their chants and always supply more noise. Stoke is another one I can think of to add to the list.

Anyone who harps back to the good old days of Filbert Street will have only seen a good atmosphere in key games of key seasons, but the majority of time we failed to raise the roof and were often out done by the away support.

Not having a go at our fans, I just think maybe we are a more reserved set of people than say Yorkshire people or the cocky Londoners. West Ham is another group who were always louder than us.

Can't see it ever changing, it has been the same since the 70's and we will only raise the roof if we have really key games, then also expect the opposition to be louder if they are on the above list.

If you were in pen 1/2 at Filbo it would seem loud even when maybe 50/100 chanting because of the low roof.

Most of the time the rest of the ground was a morgue. For all ticket fixtures before 1993 I would go in the members area in the old main stand and the atmosphere was almost always shit until the playoff/big cup games etc

Totally disagree. Singing of players names in SK1 at Filbo started at around 2.15pm regardless of opposition.  At a time we were the loudest in the land according to a survey using a dB meter. The fact that we now have reserved seating and the sky generation dont help our atmpsphere these days but the atmosphere at Filbert St, (admittedly only the kop) was spot on

Posted

Certainly not loudest in the land. Been going since 74 and we have always struggled. It has been okay at times, but rarely did our fans compete with those on the list.

Nope, we were officially the loudest in the country one year.
