Zingari Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Marriage shouldn't change anything, if that's her belief or principles, why not just do it! :xmaslaugh:

The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Marriage shouldn't change anything, if that's her belief or principles, why not just do it! i dont happen to own £20k!
Webbo Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 i dont happen to own £20k! Wedding don't have to cost anything like that. You could have a good wedding for a tenth of that.
Dr The Singh Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 i dont happen to own £20k! You don't need 20k to get married. If she sees marriage as the massive party ball as the only reason to get married then forget it.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Wedding don't have to cost anything like that. You could have a good wedding for a tenth of that. You reckon? My missis isn't one of these money grabbers, she's with the wrong bloke if she is, but I thought that was the cost of an average wedding? You don't need 20k to get married. If she sees marriage as the massive party ball as the only reason to get married then forget it. No she's not like that in fairness
Bert Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Been together four years. Sure most of you know us anyway. Been four fantastic years too. Due to her uni and my work commitments we only really get to see each other at weekends. That's how it's been from the start though so that's all we're used to I guess. Currently saving for our own house though now she's finished uni. I'm sure marriage will come once we've both got where we want to be with our jobs, but for now things are just fine how they are.

If you want to get married in a country hotel and put everyone up for the night maybe. If you hire a function room and caterers, a mobile disco and your suits, maybe some cars. Add a photographer the bride's dress what else do you need? I'd be amazed if you couldn't do that for between £2/3k.

It's a lovely story.............although you do know Bert, i'm her true love!!! :xmastongue: If you want to get married in a country hotel and put everyone up for the night maybe. I know for a fact I'd be brilliant on that Don't Tell The Bride. Probably the most organised person in existance. Prague for the stags, trip to the local for the hens

The Year Of The Fox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Me and Webbo are well up for both!! If you can fund it yourself...!
Webbo Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 If you can fund it yourself...! I think you should spend £20k then you could pay for us.
Bayfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Our wedding cost 9.5k. Church wedding reception for 70 and evening do for 120. Ok so my now sister in law made the dress. But you don't need 20k. Thats over the top. We paid for ours ourselves then spunked the 3k worth of family donations on 2 weeks in antuigua and st.lucia. brilliant.
SystonFox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Does your 3k honeymoon fall into that 9.5k? I think the stat is that an "average" UK wedding costs 20k. Obviously it can (and should be!) done cheaper. Amazed at how quickly lads on dont tell the bride smash through 12k. Mainly on a shitty venue. I'd own that show, me and lcfcstu should have a special edition for us where we try and out-donttellthebride each other
Bayfox Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 No we budgeted 9k for the wedding and ignored the honeymoon to be honest but when the folks and grandparents chipped in rather than go bigger on the wedding we thought all-in the otherside of the world was better that 2 weeks in some shit hole with crap weather.
Zingari Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 The more expensive the wedding , the more expensive the marriage / divorce :xmaswink:

They clearly have no idea on what the other half actually wants. They spunk the money on a stag do. Shit venue and ovet priced menus.
Rincewind Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Only watched a few of them. It seems the blokes have no idea what interests the girl and have never discussed the type of wedding each other wants. The bloke does what he would like not the bride. Would be interesting to see what the bride would arrange if the roles were reversed. It is obvious to the viewer that what the groom arranges is so wrong that sometimes I wonder if it is staged and the groom is deliberately mis directed by the producers of the program.

Id just dumb my knowledge of her down. Id really want to get married at our ground. Anyway i dont even own ï¿¡1k
BoneDog Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 Is your father Yussuf Islam? Amazing! He's not my father. I've not met that lad since I was 3, he's still a player in one of the seaside resorts and hasn't got time to keep in touch with his 27 offspring. First step-dad said that quote. Don't think it was actually ode Yusuf though. He did look like Cat Stevens, same beard and hair, but called himself Tony. Tone to his mates. Pretty sure he told me that line because he looked like Cat and was playing on the image, but I was too young to have a clue what he was harping on about. Tone, if you're reading this - Love yer bro. Tried yer best youth, tried yer best. Still got that Geto Boys import LP you got me in 1990. Not played it in the 2G's but always think of yer when I look at the cover.

Sorry I didn't read that he was a step father rather than father. Genuine mistake.
BoneDog Posted 23 December 2012 Posted 23 December 2012 No worries yo, I didn't think you meant owt, or owt, or take offense or owt. Merry Crimbo
