It may not be a classic to most people but to me the album this came off was always one of my favourites

John Fox and Ultravox of this time influenced so many that came after........... Just ask Gary.

For those who never got to hear these at the time check out the Island Years

Just spotted this forum and ive run out of thumbs up ... but wow many great songs posted.

The 70's were a bit before my era, 80's were my time but having an older brother and a technics stero stopped me from missing out.

Not normally my cup of tea, but it was in a film and it's a terrific tune.

Contrary to the YouTube video title, it was actually recorded and released in 1970...so only just qualifies for this thread.

I saw Thin Lizzy at Reading festival.

Phil Lynott (speaking to a pretty girl in the crowd): "Have you got any Irish in you?"

Girl: "No"

PL: "Would you like some?" lol

That sounds about right.

I don't remember seeing you though...

The bloke in the denim jacket - easy to spot.

Actually, I still have the T Shirt somewhere.

Yea I saw them to a few times

First time with Eric Bell backing Barclay James Harvest.

I obviously liked it a bit heavier so Thin Lizzy did it for me, However when I mellowed out

Some of their stuff wasn't that bad. Enjoy the Medicine Man

Enjoy People............ God I feel old

Ps: Just realised I to was at Reading in 1983 Sabbath with Gillan I think but we really did hammer the beer for three days

So the memory is a bit hazy.

Ps: I was the one with Leather Jacket, Demin with Monkey Boots on if you missed me and I had hair

You needed to...not great. That was purportedly the inspiration for the Spinal Tap Stonehenge stage prop.

While we're on sad songs of loss....

Loved this when it was out (1973?) - I was a weird kid. Find myself listening to it again these days - thinking of lost parents, more than lost relationships..
