Father Ted Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Bahahaha okay I did that in a rush but didn't realise about Huth! I'd still have Jones and Smalling ahead of him, they aren't the finished article and yes both versatile but still ahead of Wes at cb for me. And no Wes isn't far off but 6 or 7 better is a long way in terms of getting into the team! Yeah, fair. When you compare to the Zaha situation though, I'd say there are a good 7/8 players who deserve to be ahead of him! IF Wes is playing Premiership football next season, I really wouldn't be surprised to see him pull on an England shirt.
bmt Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Yeah, fair. When you compare to the Zaha situation though, I'd say there are a good 7/8 players who deserve to be ahead of him! IF Wes is playing Premiership football next season, I really wouldn't be surprised to see him pull on an England shirt. I think the difference with Zaha is he's much younger and you can afford more of a risk as an attacker than as a center back. Not saying Wes would be out of his depth but center backs are never going to be picked from the championship. Let's hope that's the case.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Hate how everyone rates Rooney. Yes hes world class on his game. But that game is only 2/3 games a season. Plus England play much better with out him. For me it would be; Hart Walker Cahill Shawcross Cole Parker Gerrard OX Lampard Sturridge Defoe
Tielemans63 Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 I'd give Leon Britten a crack. I know he's 30 now but he's always among the top passers in the league and I always think he looks class when I see Swansea play - never really seen anyone outplay him.
foxfanazer Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Gk- Hart, Ruddy, Butland Def- cole, Johnson, walker, Cahill, shawcross, terry, baines, caulker Mid- Lampard, Noble, Gerrard, Wilshere, the Ox, Zaha, Lennon Att- Sturridge, Welbeck, Defoe and Walcott
Guest MattP Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 When you see Juan Mata can't get in the Spain squad some of the players in ours is fcuking depressing.
foxfanazer Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 When you see Juan Mata can't get in the Spain squad some of the players in ours is fcuking depressing. yeah it's mad he can't get in the Spain squad
Charl91 Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Hart Walker-Lescott-Jagielka-Baines Walcott-Cleverley-Wilshere-Johnson Gerrard Sturridge Bench: Welbeck, Defoe, Lampard, Carrick, Lennon, Cole, Shawcross Hart is a no-brainer. Defense was a tough one, but I picked Lescott/Jagielka because while they might not be the best individuals, they're a good partnership. Walker, because Glen Johnson is very hit and miss for England. Torn over Baines or Cole, as Cole has been one of the most consistent England performers, but Baines has been good recently so deserves it on form. Midfield - Walcott is on good form at the moment, and Adam Johnson is one of the only England players who looks comfortable with a ball. Normally would have Ashley Young but he hasn't been great recently. Wilshere and Cleverely are both young and good passers/can keep possession well, though might be a bit of a risk. I would be tempted to stick Carrick in there. Gerrard performs well for England. Best player for WC2010, and one of our best in the Euros. Strikers are depressing. I wouldn't pick Rooney because he is SHITE for England and doesn't deserve a start atm -- we also do play better without him. I picked Sturridge because he is eager to prove himself, can beat a man and can score, even if he is a bit selfish. I like Welbeck too, though he's been poor recently.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Hart Walker-----Jagielka-----Caulker-----Cole Wilshere-----Gerrard Rooney Walcott---------------------------------Ox Defoe
Guest BlueBrett Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Hart (purely for experience in my youthful team. Otherwise FF might even get the nod because I really don't think much of Hart) Johnson-----Jagielka-----Lescott-----Baines Wilshere Cleverly Rooney Lennon---------------------------------Ox Walcott Forster, Cole, Cahill, Walker, Sterling, Noble, Milner, Gerrard (just to keep the press off my back really) Sturridge,Welbeck, and begrudgingly Defoe. I'd also get my PA to call Grant Holt and tell him the England manager was one the phone and then when he was on the line I'd just play him a recording of the DOND banker cackling.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 I'd consider giving Nolan a call-up. About time we had a nasty bastard in the middle again.
foxfanazer Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 I think Mark noble is one of the most underrated midfielders in the prem
Danno Posted 14 January 2013 Posted 14 January 2013 Hart Johnson Cahill Lescott Cole Carrick Gerrard Rooney Lampard Young Defoe
