Leicesterpool Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 What would you do, who would you pick and who would you drop. Who be in your a coaching staff. Myself I'd drop Rooney (simply awful when he puts an england shirt on), try looking at players in championship, some good talent there. Shame Chris Wood isn't english! James Milner he's a great premier league player but isn't that good in a England shirt, so i'm afraid he would be on his way out. Also I'd give Grant Holt a call up. England v Brazil team would be GK: Jack Butland, Joe Hart & Fraser Forster DF: Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines, Wes Morgan (I'm not joking!), Ashley Cole, Kyle Walker, Gary Cahill & Ryan Shawcross MF: Steven Gerrard, Ashley Young, Wilfred Zaha, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, David Beckham (once he joins a new club) & Kevin Nolan AT: Jermaine Defoe, Andy Carroll, Grant Holt, Daniel Sturridge & Danny Welbeck.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Very briefly, I'd drop Rooney and build a side round a 3 pronged attack consisting of Young Welbeck and Sturridge
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 What the **** have I just read.
Leicesterpool Posted 13 January 2013 Author Posted 13 January 2013 Very pleased you're not England manager. Okay you show me your team sheet mr smart arse
Guest Bilo Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Did I just read Jack Butland ahead of Joe Hart?!
Guest ttfn Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Very briefly, I'd drop Rooney and build a side round a 3 pronged attack consisting of Young Welbeck and Sturridge Christ. On. A. Bike.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Christ. On. A. Bike. Who'd you have?Rooney and Owen?
AKCJ Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Hart Walker Lescott Cahill Baines Wilshere Lampard Walcott Rooney Ox Welbeck Depressing but that (IMO) is the best we've got
bmt Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Hart Walker Lescott Cahill Baines Wilshere Lampard Walcott Rooney Ox Welbeck Depressing but that (IMO) is the best we've got Pretty much this for me too. Gerrard over Lampard though, and (can't believe I'm saying this) Barry or Scotty P over Wilshere for a bit more balance. Oh and Defoe instead of Welbeck
Guest ttfn Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Who'd you have?Rooney and Owen? I'd certainly have Rooney. And building an international side around Young (to any extent) would be resigning to a group stage exit. For what it's worth, I'd like to see us have a prolonged go with something like this in the run up to 2014: Hart Walker Cahill Smalling Cole/Baines Wilshere Parker Gerrard Oxlade-Chamberlain Rooney Walcott For what it's worth I think Welbeck and Sturridge are decent young players, but they're nowhere near Rooney's levels, not even when he's in an England shirt.
Mack Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 I'd quit and go one one of those 15 hookers all on one island for a week come home with crabs holidays.
Danno Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Hart Johnson Cahill Lescott Cole Wilshere Milner Rooney Gerrard Young Defoe Maybe Milner on the wing and Barry in CM with Rooney going more central.
Fox92 Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Hart Johnson -- Cahill -- Lescott -- Cole Noble -- Wilshere Sturridge -- Gerrard -- OX Rooney ___ It's about time Mark Noble got a call up, in my opinion. We lack quality out wide also. I know it's all about opinions but Beckham and Morgan? Interesting selections, and I don't agree.
stix Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 I'd quit and go one one of those 15 hookers all on one island for a week come home with crabs holidays. Let me know the dates so i can book the time off.

So you'd have Beckham despite him not having a current club and wouldn't have played for a while by the time the Brazil match comes along? I'm a fan of Beckham but we shan't be seeing him in an England shirt. Scott Parker hasn't played a full match for Spurs in ages. What warrants his inclusion? Wes Morgan? Joke. Andy Carroll? Massive joke. Why is there no Theo Walcott?? Your team is a joke and would never happen in a million years. Mainly because you've included some bizarre choices. And secondly they'd all be dead. But focus on that first reason.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 GK: Jack Butland, Joe Hart & Fraser ForsterDF: Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines, Wes Morgan (I'm not joking!), Ashley Cole, Kyle Walker, Gary Cahill & Ryan Shawcross MF: Steven Gerrard, Ashley Young, Wilfred Zaha, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, David Beckham (once he joins a new club) & Kevin Nolan AT: Jermaine Defoe, Andy Carroll, Grant Holt, Daniel Sturridge & Danny Welbeck. Can't be arsed to think at the moment so I'll post my team maybe tomorrow. I have to tell you though mate that is the worst looking squad I have ever heard imagined. The stuff of nightmares.
kingfox Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 As I know my football, and have the qualities to be England manager, this is who I would call up for Brazil. Goalkeepers - Joe Hart, Fraser Forster, Jack Butland Defenders - Kyle Walker, Andre Wisdom, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott, Steven Caulker, Leighton Baines, Ashley Cole Midfielders - Steven Gerrard, Jack Wilshere, Tom Cleverley, Frank Lampard, Mark Noble Wingers - Theo Walcott, Wilfred Zaha, Aaron Lennon, James Milner Strikers - Daniel Sturridge, Jermaine Defoe, Wayne Rooney Hart Walker - Jagielka - Cahill - Baines Cleverley - Gerrard - Milner Walcott - Defoe - Rooney Don't like Milner, but it seems Hodgson loves him, plus he hasn't been playing bad of late, so I would put him in.

David Beckham? David ****ing Beckham?!?!?! What has he done recently to include him? Have you seen him play? He's 37 (nearly 38) and without a club! If you're looking a squad that would be picked if injuries weren't an issue going forward to the next World Cup, you're going to include David Beckham! It's 2013 you fool! Also despite my criticism of Rooney in the other thread he has to be in. Yes he hasn't become England Messi like he should have, but he's one of our top goal scorers. I think we just need to look to him less, stop treating he like a Messiah. He'll get goals, so will Sturridge, Welbeck and Defoe. If he's not performing or not scoring he should expect to be behind others, not walking into the team regardless. Right that's part one, I'll return later when I can be bothered to continue to tell you what a muppet you are.

kingfox Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 Wisdom is the only one i think i would omit from that squad. I'll let you know who i'd replace him with when i've had a think! Hodgson loves his Liverpool players, and likes to give players like Wisdom a opportunity in games like this. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets called up.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 13 January 2013 Posted 13 January 2013 David Beckham ?! What a shite england manager you would make. Was expecting Owen aswell.
