There are Sikhs that are empowered to combat any threat from any group. Sikhs' associated with EDL are a minority infact Guramit Singh a leader in EDL, has been shown to be mocked with racist abuse amongst his own EDL on many you tube videos, this has been shown to all Sikh networks. proving EDL are just another mechanism for the right wing racists. Infact there are more members of my local Sikh temple then there are Sikh member in the EDL. If the EDL were true to there motto they would get more then just some SIkh members but from all walks of life, as we are all against radical islam. BTW, Guramit Singh released a statement making clear he does not represent sikhs and neither is a sikh of repute, after Singhs/Sikhs threatened to wipe him out. On the point you can't call them racist is rubbish, all action has been a reaction from the Sikhs, but if SIkhs attacked innocent muslims. I would say it was racial. And in this country there have ben Sikhs convicted of race hate crimes against muslims Isn't it nice when you invite ethnic groups to come and live in your country that they bring all their own home grown hatred and racism with them.

If i moved to Mongolia i would still think that the french people i have met are rude.... and the reason why is because that would be based on events that have happened... Maybe that's because for whatever reason, the attitude in our society is very selective about who can and can't have sweeping generalisations aimed at them. What if your experiences had led you to the conclusion that Jamaicans were all lazy ?

True, most sikh's won't have the time and day for the edl, most of those mosties haha will have been given that viewpoint by the image the edl have gained. But if those sikh's asked the edl supporting sikh's why they support the edl, would they have doubt in that image? Regards the edl having more members motto, ive heard supporters in video clips ask 'others' to support them including muslims, the edl leadership ask moderate muslims to stand up with them against islamic extremists, not hard to find a clip of that. Its kind of the oxymoron of, you're 'british muslims' or 'british sikh's', not 'british', i don't call myself a 'british atheist'. Like in America, black people don't call themselves merican, they call themselves African Americans, the same thing? Muslim gets hold of her, drugs her, rapes her, then rings his brother/cousin/uncle etc to tell him what he's got, all have a go over a few years. Girl eventually complains to police, police have internal memos we dont want to appear racist, girl told not to proceed with prosecution. Bad as this is going to sound I actually wonder had it not been for the rise of the BNP/EDL over time if this wouldn't still be going on and still being shoved under the carpet. What a state when people have to turn to that to sort things out. How do you feel about these gangs being labelled as 'Asian Gangs' when not a single Hindu or Sikh was involved?
Dr The Singh Posted 23 May 2013 Posted 23 May 2013 Pisses me right off, not saying Sikhs are beyond this, but i think 80%( i can find the stat if needed) of all grooming cases involves muslim pakistani's) Sikhs have written to all media groups about this, yet the media is scared to call them muslims as it may increase islamophobia!! I fooking hate the word asian, and hate being called indian I have posted vidoe's from itv news fron the 80's, where a Sikh gang called shere punjab decided to take arms against this type of behaviour, yet 25 years later this behaviour still continues. SIkhs are actively working to raise awareness about this issue, through sikhs media channels and temples, societies etc. Certain muslim communities have a problem they need to tackle it internally or it will isolate them further. I remember me and a few friends were out having a meal, we got speaking to a few girls, the first thing they said was 'your not muslim are you?' with a distinct look of fear. This is not good, if one of us was muslim we may have seen that as racist behaviour, where it was one of fear of muslims.

The treading on eggshells when it comes to Islam just re-inforces my view that we will never ever come to terms or get anything done about any of this. It doesn't matter if it's hala meat, child rape, teaching illegal views in mosques, hacking someone's head off or rioting in the street. Fact is everyone is shit scared (and rightly so) of what the reaction could be if they dare to offend them. Boy have we got serious problems.
